I was already smiling within me,I was neither shocked nor surprised....it wouldn't be the first,second nor third time people had taught me to be a member of NFCS I simply told him I never was a Catholic student.
It was a beautiful day (can't really recall what I was doing)and someone asked me.... Chiamaka are you a member of deeper life? .....I just simply replied no.
He wasn't the first nor the last to have asked me that question....many tend to think I am a deeper lifer.
I was discussing with a course mate who is a member of CASOR(the Assemblies of GOD students fellowship.I lived within the main campus, while she lived at the annex) and she asked me.... How's fellowship going?
I could see the surprise on her face when I told her I wasn't a member of CASOR

Psalm 119:105-112
Run the race to the end
Be determined, like the psalmist, to stay faithful to the Lord to the very end of your life. Say, ‘My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end’ (v.112).
In some ways, your life is like an obstacle race. There are snares along the path (v.110a). There is a temptation to stray (v.110b), and there is suffering (v.107).
How are you to avoid stumbling or making a mess of life? Wandering around in the dark is frightening and dangerous. The psalmist’s answer is that, in the darkness of the world around, the word of God provides:
Guidance
‘Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path’ (v.105). It enables you to see the obstacles in your path, and hopefully to avoid stumbling over them.
Sustenance
You need spiritual sustenance to keep going and God’s word is ‘sweeter than honey to my mouth’ (v.103).
Wisdom
You need wisdom when you face stressful situations and decisions, and God’s word provides ‘understanding from your precepts’ (v.104).
Encouragement
You need encouragement to keep going and God’s word is ‘my heritage for ever’ and ‘the joy of my heart’ (v.111).
God is faithful and will help you. The psalmist writes, ‘Accept, O Lord, the willing praise of my mouth’ (v.108). He is determined with God’s help to keep going ‘to the very end’ (v.112b).
Lord, there is so much to praise you for. Accept the willing praise of my mouth. Your words are the ‘joy of my heart’ (v.111). I set my heart on keeping them to the very end. Amen!

DeleteToday is Sunday and all I want to do is Rant. Due to my nature, how strong hearted I can be, in my family I am the best person to break a bad news to. When my dad lost his job, I was the first person he told. When my mom's brother died, guess who her sister called to break the news,, me!! Sometimes I feel like I am only good for bad news. December 26th 2019 is the year I got the worst news ever. I got an anonymous call that my brother has been hospitalized in a particular hospital. Without telling my family, I hurriedly went to the hospital. There I was told he was brought in dead on arrival. For the first time in my life, this particular bad news broke me. I saw my brother lifeless and all I could think of was "how do I tell my family?" I was able to tell them and their reaction is still fresh in my memory. I have received a lot of bad news this year but I am still standing. My elder brother and I try our possible best to hold the family together. Just yesterday I posted about my piggy bank experience. How I take out money couple of minutes after putting it for save. It isn't what I bargained for but we can't help some situations right? Few hours later, precisely after 9, I got a call from my elder brother. December so far has only got bad news in store for me.. My brother called to tell me he has been fired. The weight of that news is similar to when the doctor told me my brother is dead. As usual, "don't tell anybody" is the next line. I felt the pain in his voice, the disappointment in his tone, yet I had no comforting words for him. How do sad people console each other?? I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat, I could only cry. This morning, my mom came to show me the text message she sent to him. Ofcourse money is the subject matter. She asked if it's okay, I just nod my head and she left. I have resumed crying again. Telling them their son got fired is synonymous to saying our lungs got punctured. That's how bad it is. I wonder what 2021 has got in store for us.

I sent a chat to my best friend asking after her and the kids and she responded that they are fine and she is on her way to a wedding. I was like yeah December’s are for weddings and the next thing I got was, it’s let call her Bees of she mentioned the office wedding. I responded with a laughing emoji and that was it. But it got me thinking if she is really a good friend, her husband, mine and Bee were colleagues and I found out in September this year that hubby was sleeping with Bee the whole time they were working together and told my friend about it in November. God knows I’m not against her attending the wedding at all but why tell me about it and all when you know how sensitive I’ve been feeling about the issue?
