Former VP Atiku Tells President Buhari To Declare A State Of Emergency After Abduction Of Students In Katsina State..

Nigeria's Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on Saturday told President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency over the state of insecurity in the country.

He said this after it was reported that bandits attacked a secondary school in Katsina and abducted about 600 students.

Atiku in a statement, said that it was now obvious that the strategies being deployed by the government in tackling insecurity had failed and must be abandoned for better ones.

He said the abduction of the students at the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara was a very unwelcome escalation of the worsening insecurity in the country.

He condemned the abduction in the strongest possible terms, and sympathized with the parents, the government and people of Katsina while praying for their safe return to their families.

The former Vice President called on security agencies in the country to immediately swing to action and rescue the missing students

“I therefore call on the Federal Government to immediately declare a state of emergency in states bedevilled by banditry and terrorism, for an offensive and decisive war on terror and insecurity,” Atiku said.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the emergency I call for should follow the steps prescribed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), and case law, by leaving all democratically elected state and local government structures intact.

“The rationale is quite simple: We cannot win the war on terror by continuing with the same strategies we have deployed over the last five years. That they have not worked is very glaring, with the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara incidence being the latest in a long line of proofs,” he added.

  8. This is just the beginning, when the Northern created this Boko haram to rubbish the South West and they were killing innocent Christians and destroying ibo businesses in the North none of their elders or elite spoke against it in the strongest term. Now the fire the Stoke is fully blown as General Aziza said and it will consume those that start it altogether. Evil and hatred are two things that any human should not tolerated in their heart at all, it consume people.

  9. Where's that useless essah.?
What has he gotta say about this abduction?
I guess this is a lie too cos there's no traces of them being abducted and no security footage shows any students was abducted
Mad idiot with a shallow reasoning

The northern elites will rather have their people get wiped out from all these killings than challenge the people in places of power and authority. Bigotry.
When the daft ones who's been roped and blindfolded with religion are ready, they will demand the peace they want from the elites so until then, they should endure the government they love to defend 🤷🏾‍♀️

Instead of the governor to show genuine concern, he used the security the people so much needed against them by getting the parents of the abductees teargassed so, are you are "sai bubu is working" awon mad fellow 😷
