The day I was on my period then I foolishly drank lucozade boost because I needed "strength", I didn't know that lucozade contained sugar, the menstrual pain I had that day is indescribable. See, anytime I remember that particular experience, I get goosebumps because it still scares me, I never knew the human body could feel that amount of pain.
ReplyDeleteNot death experience. I remember the first time I ever had menstrual pain. I thought I ate something poisonous and the poison was taking its effect🙈🙈.
DeleteI went in for a different surgery and another organ was punctured in the process.
DeleteThank God the cunsultant in charge of that area was around because any little delay would have been the end for me.
The day I purged and I thought I’ll die that day.

DeleteA day I'll never forget in a hurry-it was 2016 on my way from work.I happily stopped a bike not knowing few min I'll be hospitalised hmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteThe brake suddenly developed fault and before I could say jack,I'd already landed with my face down on a tarred road,I couldn't feel my legs for a min because the bike fell on me,I was partially unconscious and was bleeding,I was confused because I initially thought my nose was bleeding,I touched my nasal cavity but no blood. And then it dawned on me that I had actually crashed my teeth on a tarred road,I felt my tongue with my teeth, that moment I knew I had lost my frontal teeth(4 of my Frontal teeth).I was immediately rushed to the hospital,i was just crying heavily-no one knew the reason behind my tears, they thought I was crying cos of the incident, not knowing my broken teeth is the reason behind my tears.I eventually removed the remains of the four broken teeth.
I couldn't walk for more than a month(I bruised my knee as well).Pap wey be my enemy became one of my favorite meal,I consumed beans, tea and pap for months yunno cos of my fragile teeth, two of the lower teeth sef dey shake.
A lot of "what if" kept running through my mind......what if I crashed my head instead of my teeth, what if my cord got broken, what if i ended up with a broken leg, what if I'm no more.
I became depressed and emotional after the incident,i had low self-esteem,i became less confident,i couldn't relate with people, after i healed completely, nobody believed i was involved in a serious accident, because there was no visible scar, not knowing four teeth "don miss for mouth"..........you know that moment when you want to laugh out loud with your "36" on display, suddenly you remember your missing frontals, and just smile instead.........."I used to have a gap teeth,I so much miss it"
Sometimes I go to event, and the paparazzi be like......everybody say "cheese".....in my mind I'm like " cheese kor, cheese balls ni".
When I think about it,I just murmur to myself saying "it's just your teeth and not your life"........ Sigh....it is well with my soul.
Oh dear 😘🤗, I understand you perfectly. Smiling will now become an almost impossible task.
DeleteThank God your life was spared.

All would be well.
Hmmmm Mine was the day we were attacked along Benin by pass by some bad guys with their faces painted black they were more thank 20 during Christmas( the numbers might be more ), they stopped going and coming buses , I was sleeping and our bus almost tumbled because ours was the first bus they stopped (I saw jesus that day believe me, i said my last prayer with fear) I had terrible nightmare throughout until new year, during that period I always wake up with fear at middle of the night with people carrying gun and sticks the bullets i saw in movies that day were before my eyes on the day we were robbed correct life bullets flying everywhere like end stars soldiers, we ran inside the Bush for safety. kai let me stop here i don't think I can continue. I THANK GOD FOR MYLIFE 🙏.
ReplyDeleteThat nightmare part is so relatable
DeleteThank God for your life o !! Thank God no bullet hit u.
I would never understand why Christmas is the peak of crime
I was involved in a fatal accident a month to my wedding, was seated in the front seat, driver died. To think I was sleeping when the bus collusion happened, but I escaped with a sprained ankle, neck strain and a few minor bruises. The day I finally saw the front of that bus at the police station where I went to search for my bag, I found it hard go believe that someone seated at that front seat could be alive cos it was totally mangled.
ReplyDeleteWow
DeleteWoooooow
DeleteHmmm thank God for you!!!!!!
I slumped and found it difficult breathing. Was transferred from 3 different hospitals until was finally diagnosed with acute pulmonary embolism. That is blood clots in my lungs. Referred to Luth and was on oxygen for a week and an ultimatum to either go for surgery or go looking for a drug costing 250k. God came through; we found the drug and under 2weeks I was discharged.
ReplyDeleteThank God for you!!
DeleteHow are you doing now ? Hope you're doing better.
November 2020. Few days afer testing positive for covid 19 and I started vomiting nonstop. It was a crazy night! I thank God.

DeleteWhen i was in boarding school i was in JSS 1 so had the upper bunk space ao where i lay my head. The ceiling board was off and open. I was so scared i remember complaining to the hostel perfect but she said there was no bunk space so i had to manage. So i do place my pillow directly under the open space but on a second thought i moved my pillow to the other side of my bed. I had this strong instinct that one day either a snake or block may fall on my head or leg and i may die. So i told my bunkie then that this may happen she shoved it aside and told me nothing will happen.
ReplyDeleteSo one hot afternoon when i returned from classes i decided to take my siesta but i changed my mind that i will do my laundry, take my bath and then sleep. When i was done and i returned,no one in the room then i just saw a full 9inches block landed directly on where i would have placed my head cos i returned my pillow to the former position. I screamed and then my room mates and hostel perfect came and saw what happened. My people na so dem find anoda bed space for me. I cried cos that block would have smashed my head and I would have died. It would wrecked my parents. Thank God I am here and alive.
Thank God
DeleteOh my God!!!
DeleteWhat a traumatic experience!!!
Thank God !!!!
The day the bus i was travelling in lost control of its brakes and was summersaulting into the bush severally, when it came to a halt, the bus was upside down and the four tyres were up,all of us inside the bus were stacked on top of ourselves. We couldn't breath and glasses were shattered everywhere with the bus dented and squeezed. When the people who came to rescue us pulled us out of the bus,we saw so many cars and vehicles packed and thanking God for our lives, some were taking pictures(trust people)and some stole some of our belongings.I encountered this twice in a year. But i believe God has a reason for keeping me alive till today and still forever under his watch.
ReplyDeleteAmen!!!
DeleteHe would always protect u.
It was the day I first experienced fainting. I was with my sis in the market, not knowing I had dysentery, and I felt like using the toilet, my sis said ok go home, I was really pressed to poo but at the same time it was seizing, while I was feeling very very tired, plus I had to enter okada to get home, immediately I entered on the okada everywhere became nigt-dark in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking so this is how people die. All I remember was getting home coming down from the okada, paying and passing through our compound gate, the rest is story.
When I woke up from my fainting spell I was lying on the sitting room floor with everybody surrounding and praying for me, see rejoicing everywhere when I woke up, they told me how they heard someone open the gate but waited for somebody to come inside the house, after some time they didn't see anybody they had to come outside and see me on the floor inside the compound ,passed out already, they carried me in and started praying and doing all they can to bring me back to life, a doctor was already on the way.
That was how I ran some test and got diagnosed of dysentery and got treated.
I thought that day was my last day on earth. I was about 16years old.
It was scary
Wooooow
DeleteVery scary!! Life is indeed fleeting.
I'm glad u survived .
My 2nd year in uni, Wednesday lectures normally end by 12, so I have lots of time to do some cleaning, nap and then in the eve I'd just stroll for some mins b4 going for night class. That eve while I strolled, I saw abacha woman (African salad) and bought.. Typical me as a last born usually eat my fish last (I don't take meat).. I was devouring the fish with utmost joy when the MFking fish got stuck in my throat, I couldn't swallow it and I couldn't take it out. The only thing I was seeing at that moment was death, my mouth was wide open, i couldn't breathe, with my hands around my neck not knowing what to do, I was slowly slumping, I hit my head by the bed and Miraculously the fish came out... I was still on the floor with tears in my eyes when one of my roommates came in and helped me back to bed.
ReplyDeleteI was like there's no way mumsi would believe and survive such story if his only boy had left this world... God is wonderful
2006 I was kidnapped in kaduna and I jumped out of a fast moving bus on the express. The fall was so bad that I kept rolling on the Express for some seconds and the clothes on my body got burnt. God was awesome no incoming car. He just made the road free that day.
ReplyDelete2018 I had an emergency CS birthing my daughter
Woooooooow
DeleteGod is indeed awesome!! Mehn that was crazy!!
Jumping out of a speeding bus isn't a joke !!
I have so many testimonies. Indeed, God has been awesome. I survived an emergency operation at 4 months old (I'm now 48 years old and 100% healthy), I almost fell into an underground tank when I was a teenager, I survived an armed robbery attack with bullets flying everywhere, survived internal bleeding after child birth 14 years ago, survived several auto accidents without a scratch on my body, survived severe food poisoning last year, survived electric shock in my teens... Honestly, I know I will live long because I have survived what kills many. Praise God!
