I just realized the lady i took two of my materials to is a carpenter not a tailor. What she did was to use nail and hammer to hammer my dress. The style i chose versus the one she sew nko story for another day. I have two more materials and no body told me to take to my heels
She should have padded her hips, and also stand like the lady she copied, no be the tailors fault ooππ. Make una no worry I will soon be through with fashion school and begin dey rival numinee πͺπΌ
Tailors have shown me shege so tay getting a good tailor became a prayer point for me. God has finally answered my prayers after trying different tailors up to 8(I kid you not)I have a great shape with height o. One tailor even use old school iron burn two different clothes I gave her, can you imagine? Thank God I now have three good ones .Hallelujah!
There is a clear difference in the quality of both fabrics. The first could be a duchess satin or heavy silk from the way it shines and drapes. The second looks like cotton or polyester. The skills required for the first dress are correct couture skills including draping, interfacing, invisible stitching and micro measurements and micro fitting. These are not skills many Nigerian tailors have.
Stella, I swear some tailors may not make heaven. After surfing the web for corporate gown styles. I sent the pictures to my tailor. She now sewed something that looks like egungun dress. I wish I could even snap and send to you ,but I left the dresses for her. Told her to sew exactly what I told her to otherwise PH will hear both of us.
This is definitely the last time I will be patronising her.
I'm in the market for a new one that has PHD in copying styles.

ReplyDeleteThe copied version is dull face of 400 and managed material too.
The body structure is not same.. It's the copier fault not the tailor.
Same analysis I made OP...
DeleteIts like you make dress? What's the name of the fabric in the first pix? I need to acquire that skill
DeleteDuchess or bridal satin
DeleteSome of the styles are correct oh.
ReplyDeleteBut, I don't know if the tailors don't take measurement of their clients before sewing.
You'll see the exact style but oversized or undersized.
