TEEJAHS CORNER

Few months ago, I watched a short clip on a young man's proposal to his woman. It was a happy moment seeing them lovingly kissed each other warmly. Unlike other proposals I've seen in the past, this one looked different. The man on bended knee, had popped the question, "will you marry me?"

The lady who was shy initially, went down on her two knees, gave him her finger and said YES. At that point, the man was already standing. He put the ring on her finger, held her hand as she stood up and they both hugged each other. There were claps and shouts of joy by friends around.

Will this be a new trend that will soon evolve in the society? A woman kneeling to take an engagement ring. Some persons or would I say a new school of thought are beginning to emerge with the question of a man who's seen as the head in a family kneeling down to propose to a woman. To such people, it's liken to a man relinquishing his role and authority to his wife. Some said, it's not an African thing but copied from the whites.

Does proposal and engagement really matters? Let alone who stand or kneel. It doesn't even guarantee lasting or successful marriage. I don't know why Africans are attaching so much relevance on anything foreign. A marriage can still hold successfully even without an engagement ring proposing.

Africa as a continent, borrowed lots of foreign valued system that we ended up losing most of our values. Just like people attaching so much relevance to white wedding more than traditional marriages. Don't get it twisted, I'm not condemning white wedding but of a truth, both are one and the same marriage if truly you understand it and its origin.

With a traditional marriage, you are good to go with your spouse, live together and have kids together even without the white wedding. So why the stress to kill over a white wedding? Before the white came to Africa, were Africans not getting married traditionally?

Do the whites have anything such as two marriage ceremony just like we do here in Africa? Obviously NO. What you called white wedding, to them, it's their native wedding hence they only have one celebration of it.

Do you now see how we were made to believed that our own cultures and traditional marriages isn't good enough, inferior and incomplete without the white wedding. Bad enough, religious leaders that are Africans are the ones spreading that falsehood that, it's a sin to live together with your spouse after traditional marriage without the white wedding. And I asked, how and why?

One day, we will come to the true knowledge and realization that both marriages are one and the same and as such one should have been enough if only our value system were truly preserved.

BVs there is a big difference between traditional Marriage and Church wedding right?Let me save this article and wait for when you will get married and see how you will ask her, weda nah over a bowl of cassava and egusi soup...And let me also see if you will go to church or not...

I didnt know you were this native....chei!!!

That Paul's response yesterday really broke my heart, read it yesterday night. I see nothing wrong in Lola's birthday wish.If u are reading this Paul, you need Jesus, seek Him fast, forget all those defending u,your state of mind needs serious cleansing and healing.
BTW,Lola sures looks good for her age.

    6. @Firstlady blessing, pls let Paul be. How is he childish? Because he said his mind? I prefer that kind of childishness. He doesn't want to deal with her I dont understand what is difficult about that. You have not spoken to someone for 4 years and went on social media to wish him happy birthday. You may react differently if you are in his shoes but you are not him. Allow him to react the way his mind directs him. I personally will tell a person I'm not in good terms with, who goes on Social Media to wish me well to stuff it down her throat. That's me. Do you and let another person do him/her. He also made a post yesterday asking her not to post him or tag him because he doesn't post her! I hope she won't do this again next year pls. I'm tired of their drana.

    7. @FirstL Lady: What Lola did was manipulative! She knows Paul will react the way he did, so that people will insult him and she will look like an angel! You haven't spoken to your brother in law in four years, but you come on social media to be sounding like you are on talking terms with him. Let her leave him alone, he hardly mentions her in his post! I hate people like her, trying to paint other people black! What happens to calling him and telling him all that and see his reaction before fooling herself on social media! Eye service!

      Delete
    8. How did her post insinuate she is in talking terms with him?

She wants peace to reign and there is nothing wrong with that.

    TALK SESSION

Too many people are always looking for the devil in the wrong place, and that's why they never seem to find him🙄🙄......the fact that you can't find him, doesn't mean he is not there!!!. And because you are having a hard time finding him,he keeps making himself comfortable at home 😲😲

2corinthians11:14 tells us that even the devil disguises himself as an angel of light.......so if you are looking for something DARK or OUTRIGHTLY EVIL before you know/agree that the devil as been around you.... you might end up not finding him on time until he has done the damage😱😱!!

Every spec of little thing that does not show the character/life of Christ is the devil!!!......look for him in that Hatred, lie, drinking, smoking, womanising, prostitution, anger, resentment, weariness, fear, enemity discouragement etc...... that's the devil you are looking for and you have to CAST HIM.

Why is it that once a celebrity or even a regular human being brings sad news such as family’s death, loss of job etc to social media, you will hardly hear or see anyone saying ‘keep ur personal life off social media’. They sympathise with them

But once it is about good news like proposal, marriages, child dedication, children’s birthday, you start hearing nonsense like keeping ur life off social media.

Is it because you’d rather hear about something bad happening to someone and mourn with them rather than hear something good happen to someone so u can celebrate with them???

Thank God for growth. I have been able to think for myself and I have concluded I would rather prefer to have reasons to celebrate with ppl both known and unknown than have reasons to mourn with them

Like I said above, I am not against the church wedding but it's very important we understand the originality of our culture and where we all come from.

Why should a couple be accused of fornication and immorality after traditional marriage by Christian folks simply cos they haven't done church wedding?

All I am saying is that, white wedding isn't a parameter to ascertain the authenticity of a marriage but traditional marriage does.

Have you wonder why White wedding can't be recognized without traditional marriage but traditional marriage can be upheld to be binding. Think about it....

    2. You need to do regular facials at the spa. You need to understand your skin type and what it reacts to so you can reduce such.

There are different types of facials. Select the one that will be good for you. Then use a mild cream like Clarins and co after. Avoid organic soaps and creams. Avoid overnight instagram sellers with no certificate selling creams and soaps. Use tested and trusted product on your skin.

      Be patient with it.

Depends on your skin, i will recommend you do facials once every two months.

  45. That 13yr old that is being molested

Pls poster don't report to the school. They will tell you to shut up because they don't want the pupil to be withdrawn by her aunt, also they don't want the school's name to be in the news and associated with a girl that is being molested. If you try it after the warning, you will lose your job.

Pls try and Google organisations in your state of residence that deal with such cases, the info was once shared on this blog too, get their info and inform them but tell them to keepbyou anonymous.. You don't only need to give her money for transport, if she goes home, they might return her to her aunt or take her to live with another family who will still molest her. You need to see to it that she is rehabilitated and only an organization can do it
