What do u expect???
ReplyDeleteLet him sue them nau. Since its a lie. Mscheww
DeleteOf course, he won't agree to the accusations. If he was not guilty and has a name to protect being former head of state, sue them, the law maker and BBC. Yes, sue them. But he can't. And we know why.
ReplyDeletei believe you sir....if you know this man and his family you will wonder if they want to spend all that stolen money when they die...not poor yet you cant say they have the kind of money politicians steal now.
ReplyDeleteLet them show proof or forever remain silent.
ReplyDeleteOk oooo. But was there a take/steal???
ReplyDeleteThe million dollar question.
I don't expect him to agree tho
ReplyDeleteI think I believe Him to a large extent. Was it not during his time there was something like "owoji" not sure of the pronunciation or spelling.
ReplyDeleteBut it was during his time that graduates could get a car tear rubber after graduation get a house too. And I also believe it was during his time dollar was to a Naira or so... But I know things were easy during his time. And then people were not aware of money like we are now.
When they get old, you start pitying them.

Gowon was so broke when he left government because the regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo seized all his entitlements, pension and other retirement benefits because he was accused of being an accomplice in the coup that killed Murtala Mohammed. A wealthy Benin high Chief out of pity was paying him monthly stipends while he was in London for his upkeep

ReplyDeleteIn british term anything after ‘ it is said that’ is a rumour, that statement was an overstatement, take it with a pitch of salt.
ReplyDeleteSo what's the truth???in any case it was a military blinded, wrecker government that wasn't accountable to anyone, the roads to he's village were garigada yet he went on saying money wasn't the problem but how to spend it..lol...now he's calling Nigerian to pray..pray not enough, help ur dear country sir sympathize..tell us where the moneys are..Sir
ReplyDeleteI believe Gowon did not steal Nigeria's funds or half the money in CBN.
ReplyDeleteWhat Gowon did was that he BETRAYED the Aburi Accord to let Biafra seceded. His betrayal led to the civil war.
I wasn't born then but it PAINS me to date because he is the reason Nigeria remains hooked in this unfortunate union.
He has repented and formed 'Nigeria Prays'. However, I'm glad he is alive to see the consequences of his BETRAYAL.
Yes, God forgives but the consequences of every action lives with the perpetrator(s).
