Bandits In Northern Nigeria Now Collect Taxes From Farmers Before Allowing Them To Harvest Their Crops

Farmers in some parts of Northern Nigeria must pay taxes to bandits before they are allowed to farm on their farmlands or harvest their crops.

Farmers in a particular community in Zamfara State pay the sum of N800,000 to bandits, so as to farm in their lands without being kidnapped or experience any disturbance by armed bandits, BBC Hausa reports.

  7. What a country. Shame to you Nigerian government. When will you roll out the armour tankers to fight your kinsmen terrorizing farmers? Or is it only in the peaceful communities in Eastern Nigeria you can do that?

I can bet that these bandits have sponsors in government. I repeat again, the northern politicians have ruined this country and I am unapologetic saying so.

    1. Teejay stop tribal comments at least for once, haaa what is it around you have worn on you that can't make you reason beyond your region even your mentor Kanu ran away. Give Nigeria a chance.

    2. Stop it please.. you people always like to attack CeeJay out of nothing!
That is why I don't even feel pity for what is happening in the north!
The truth pinches you people in the scrotum, how is that comment from TeeJay tribalistic.
A government of misplaced priorities,a government that it's house is burning and it is chasing rats is what you are defending!
I join him to say,we have never seen this level of despair in Nigeria and it is happening under whose watch?
A spade is a spade but if you want him to call it a Knife then maybe I pray you be caught up by this bandit so that you will be a patriotic Nigerian!
Take it,Buhari has destroyed Nigeria both in human rights, security, economy, education, infrastructure and even hope,he is a disaster!

    3. I wanted to scroll past your comment but I said no.
Feel free to call me Teejay if you want because that is how the brain of people like you works!
So you looked at that truth by Teejay and say it's tribalistic, then what will your own be called then?
What's Nnamdi Kanu's concern in this issue if not that you hate the truth he "sometimes "spill about this clueless and wicked government!
I wanted you to address the issue after dragging Teejay but you were so callous not to feel the sad story up there but you were only concerned about your stupid "tribalism"
Do we still have a country,if I may ask you,a country where you can't protest without being shot at, you can be secretly arrested, your accounts frozen, even the grieving families are made to change their statements out of fear of the government,a country where it's president borrows and nothing is is shown out of it.a country that its ordinary citizens are made to understand it's poverty state but it's government officials feed fat on our collective resources,a country that promotes killers and bandits and rewards terrorists!
Don't get me annoyed this early before I curse you!

    4. I support Teejay too. The northern elite have finished Nigeria. The way they have dragged nigeria backward is so heartbreaking. Let the north go and form it’s own country or join chad or Niger. We are tired. Btw I am from the southwest

  8. This is the height of it! What has naija turned into?

The masses will end up paying for it through a hike in food prices. Na wa ooo.

  10. That’s really sad. But I kinda don’t feel so bad for them because their leaders engaged the services of those beings for the purpose of disrupting peace in other parts of the country. Now the chicken has come home to roast. They should get their leaders to send them away, same way they brought them.

  12. I have gone for humanitarian work in the northeast and northwest and the level of poverty is heartbreaking. People harvest even grass to eat. This people dunno there is even a constitution talkless of them knowing they have rights. They dont even know there is government. They live in huts

  14. Imagine paying almost 1m to bandits on top your own farm?? How will they make profit? What is the government doing about it? What a shame!!!

  15. No wonder feeding is now a luxury, the cost of food is at an all time high. All those extra costs are borne by all Nigerians who buy food stuff. God help us!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Old gist..
The aboki guy I buy my onions from told me that early last month.. when we were discussing why the basket of onion cost so much..
Said the herdsmen/bandit come bearing arms, so the farmers can't fight back cos that would mean death, and if you don't have the money they request for, the slice your bag of onions to pieces..

This isn't a country anymore, drastic steps needs to be taken to set things back on track and it must be taken now.. it actually would happen soonest cos the suffering is at the blink.. just like a very ripe mango, it would drop soon..

The leaders are not smart at all, and their children and families would suffer also get the repercussions when the time comes for the price to be paid

    2. That's what we are saying but some unscrupulous elements in this blog will still come and defend this demonic regime!
Buhari brought this upon Nigeria and he will definitely pay for!
I believe your analysis, I know we have had people but the average northern criminal cannot be this cruel to its kind!
Buhari is like a man who dug his own grave, jumped into it and then turn back and ask people to come and rescue him.
I just feel pity for the poor ones because if their elites atleast allowed them to be educated they would have used their power wisely when the bad eggs in leadership comes back for their votes but how will they know when they are told where to vote!

  18. Until forceful population control is put in place especially in the north, Nigeria will only get worse, there will even be more bandits in future

  19. That's their cup of tea,When we protest against bad governance and insecurity again, they should also join.

  21. Yet people like that Eeesah will be talking like a mad man when people complain about this govt!
Anyway he is not far from the rest of them, they rather the poor amongst them be used as sacrifice than Buhari or the north loose the presidency.

    ReplyDelete
  22. This is why the elites and the ruling class in the north won't allow education to thrive in their area..they rather keep their people impoverished and uneducated so that they will be able to use them in times of elections and religious violence!
Tell me if these people were to know their left and right will they vote again for anybody with questionable character like Buhari!
Sometimes I want to pity them because we all are directly and indirectly affected by what they are going through but at the end of the day, I say WTH!
They should enjoy their brothers rule ojare!

  26. the north is one of our greatest problems in this country. yes i said it with my full chest..since their governors love SARS i hope they are their working for them.now we want to give them a rail line straight to Niger Republic...i thank God i dont have the guilt of voting Buhari on my head
