ReplyDeleteOur film makers be playing safe with characters, they don't want to experiment, hence when they see one who can interprete a particular role well they nearly choke them with that role and others follow suit. That's why it seems he's only getting gate man role.
Exactly. For example I enjoy Adesua when I see her playing challenging roles and not those milk and butter roles.

Great directors know how to stretch an actor, however the actor must have talent as well. You can't give what you don't have. Perhaps they should try him out in other roles and he should also keep practicing and audition for other roles.

ReplyDeleteI read an article the other day where Matthew McConaughey said he gave up a 9 million dollars pay day to star in a romantic comedy. He said he had gotten sick of them and did not want to be typecasted, so he rejected the project and pursued more dramatic roles which led to him receiving an Academy Award and getting even more money to do more complex roles.
Sir, you have to stand up and fight for yourself. Don't limit yourself to Nollywood either. Another Black Panther movie will be filmed, think big and aim high. Do your own productions. You can raise capital through crowd funding, but make the change you want to see.
But his disability will not allow them to cast him as a responsible man na. We all know how it goes with the movies
