Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday, insisted that there were only two recorded deaths and no bloodstain at the scene of the Lekki Toll Gate shooting.
Several reports had stated that no fewer than 30 protesters died as a result of the shooting which had generated public outcry after security operatives believed to be soldiers fired live bullets into the crowd of protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate at Admiralty Circle Way.
Sanwo-Olu in a chat with CNN’s Becky Anderson and transcribed by Vanguard said: “Two dead bodies, that is what we have seen from all the morgues, that’s what we have seen going to hospitals, that’s what we have seen as a record.
What has happened is that there have been so many footages that were seen, that people have shown, but we have not seen bodies, we have not seen relatives, we have not seen anybody truly coming out to say I am a father or a mother to someone and I cannot find that person. Nobody has turned up. I have been to the ground; there is no scratch of blood anywhere there.
From the footage that we could see, because there were cameras at that facility, it seems to me that they would be men in military uniform. That’s what the footage shows.”
Sanwo-Olu who said is committed to a full investigation of the incident, assured that the Close Circuit Television, CCTV, footages will be part of the investigation by the judicial panel already set up to investigate the incident, which according to him has already started sitting on Monday, October 27,2020...

The CCTVs you took away before your Hench soldiers began their shootings?
ReplyDeleteLets be patient the truth will come out and prevail..LAWMA actually did cleaning at Lekki Toll gate on Friday and tweeted about their activities I think they made some revelations and they quickly deleted the tweet probably advised by''forces beyond their control''...Compilations of missing persons last heard on Tuesday 20th Oct at the tollgate are already ongoing and the truth will come out!

ReplyDeleteBabajide sanwo oleeeee O
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Ambode was right after all when he said this man has some issues on the brain in the build up of the election in 2019. It's so glaring now. How can it be two when on life recording, over five persons was saw that night dead. Wait ooh, I thought they said no one died initially? Bunch of mad people. You are fucking with the wrong set of youths. Good they rejected your oath of secrecy. This is to let you and your cohorts know that, it's no longer business as it used to be. We are awaken generation. The next protest will be the great revolution.
ReplyDeleteAmbode was right?
DeleteYes oh Me I am waiting for that man on BBC Hardtalk to grill him...He go ''shaky shaky daddy'' tire for TV...
Deleteexactly, he went from saying no one died and now it is 2 that have died... the number from his mouth will increase again...
DeleteTheir conscience has been dealing with them seriously..
ReplyDeleteWould this man not just keep quiet rather than saying what's not true?!?
ReplyDeleteHe can't..He will be the sacrifical lamb for the political wolves in Nigeria
DeleteHe is already the sacrificial lamb.
DeleteSome people are saying he's a puppet
DeleteI thought Sanwo Ole said he will set up panel of iniquity. Why is he arriving at a conclusion before the panel's first sitting?
ReplyDelete🙄🙄🙄🙄
Read the first line in my comment above.
DeleteI watched this interview. My heart sunk.
ReplyDeleteThe anchor also spoke to him with such disdain, I was embarrassed. I think he should stop granting interviews. Every time he speaks, he says something totally incomprehensible.
Let's put the issue of the bodies aside. In his first interview with Arise TV (morning after); he took us on a picture your of his hospital visit where he admitted on national TV, that he had visited the hospitals, told us some had been sutured and discharged, he said two had gone into surgery and he gathered that they are responding, and several were undergoing varying degrees of treatment from gunshot wounds.
So, if Gov Sanwolu admitted that he saw people with gunshot wounds, how can he say that he can't attest to xxxx because there were no stains?
What did the "injured" emit from their bodies? Water?
Secondly, Gov Sanwolu did not go to the toll gate till Thursday. It rained heavily though for a short while in lekki on Wednesday. Usually, the rain may not totally wash out stains but it will wash out a considerable amount but the toll area was VERY CLEAN (there was even a Garbage truck cleaning and clearing and washing.
I'm coming
What caught my attention was five bullets,
DeleteWho was counting?
My sister said this, " our coming to Nigeria was a punishment". This palliThief governor is taking us for fools.
ReplyDeleteKeep contradicting yourself Mr Governor, you hear? You people trying so hard to change the narrative of how you killed innocent protesters. Their blood will forever hunt you all
ReplyDeleteNow I'm getting more angered....
ReplyDeleteStella, where are the bodies of the 30people you claim or even their families. Are you so bitter to this extent to be blind, please a lot is happening in Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, they even killed police men, why havent you shown that, even linda ikeji has shone several. Why your obsession with Sanwo Olu.Face your Governors.
ReplyDeleteIf police were killed, what was their crime? Do you know the people(youths) must have retaliated in self defence? You are wicked to even put up this trash here. I guess you haven't been a victim of police brutality. I guess one person in your house is a police officer.
Deleteteejay, i respect you, but this your response is not entirely fair at all. not all police officers have committed crimes against youths, yet some of them have become victims because of the crimes of others. people should not take the law into their own hands and retaliating by killing police officers is wrong.
DeleteAnon, it is madam stella's decision about what she chooses to post and I agree it could create a clearer picture if she also included stories of what has been happening to police officers. But she doesnt have to and she is not wicked for choosing not to do so.
@ Emi ni lawyer, the same way not every youth is a criminal. I don't support killing of anyone that include the police but again it's a clear message that no one has the monopoly to violence. We have good police officers and my heart goes to their various family that has been affected in one way or the other. You see those bad and evil ones, they got served
DeleteDear Anon 16:13 Stella takes her time to post quality news for we to read. Her style of blogging is so intriguing that you will come back and read beautiful comments made by the blog visitors. She's a good journalist and give it to her.
Delete@Anonymous 16:13 is Sanwo Ole, don't be mistaken.
Deletechai there is God oooo
ReplyDeleteThe blood of all those who died is on your head and it would make you have sleepless nights in Jesus name. How can you be so callous and heartless,no mercy for the wicked,You are a father and you are not even considerate of 9months of pregnancy some high risk, delivery day wahala some with complications, not to talk of feeding, clothing, schooling etc of the parents of those youth you killed in their primeðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
ReplyDeleteWhat does this man really stand to gain with this his back and forth lies?
ReplyDeleteDoes he have children at all?
This man should the bereaved families to mourn their loved ones in peace.
With this nonsense lies, if he wants to re-contest come 2023, some youths will still rally round for this one.
Tueeehhhh!
This happen in Nollywood. A police man or a thief will shoot and there won't be bloodstain. Our leaders have turned to nolywood actors.
ReplyDeleteSuch a weakling, a feeble creature we call a governor.....God will expose y’all soon
