ReplyDeleteThat guava story reminds me of my own childhood too.
ReplyDeleteBig sis and us would always pluck guava from an uncompleted storey building occupied by a mad man that breaks firewood for some people for little cash. We lived just a plot away, so he knew us when he wasn't in his mad state. When the craze starts he doesn't recognise anybody, he behaves very mad and screams like he is seeing demons tormenting him, and he was so strong. He let us pluck sometimes.
One faithful day big sis who was always doing the climbing and plucking was on the tree while we were picking up guavas when the mad man appeared from only God knows, we were all scared and crying begging him, he looked at us and said 'if no be say I know una I for take stone scatter you for that tree' oya come down make una commot for here.
That was how she came down and we sped off with our guicy guavas.
Another guava story, one old mama & papa with different fruit trees in their compound , they also sold water those years, the papa was kind while the mama was not.
She was always stingy with everything, even if they were spoiling. Even the stuffs she sold mostly end up spoiling cos she sells way more costlier than other persons in the neighbourhood.
To pluck guava na wahala, even if her husband gives his permission she will still get angry and quarell and even send us back. Lol
