Crooner Davido Reveals What Killed His Mum And Why He Is Yet To Marry Chioma

Multiple award-winning artiste, Davido, has revealed the cause of his mother’s death. The Fem singer stated that his mother died of cardiac arrest on his father’s birthday.

  

Davido- All my brothers and sisters are richer than me, if I work in my dad's office I would be a billionaire in dollars by tomorrow. I just doing this because I love the craft.

Ebuka- How are your kids doing?

Davido- Good, good questions, you know this little break gave me time to stay with my family. So all the kids are good.
Imade, Hailey and ifeanyi are perfect. Ifeanyi's first birthday is coming up, on the 21st of next month.


Ebuka- How did that change you.
Davido- I think having ifeanyi changed my life, I previously have two daughters, during chioma, my fiancee's pregnancy, it was crazy like watching all the stress women go through and see him go out.


Ebuka- You were there?

Davido- Yes of course, he is my first son, it really changed me, like my girls would always be close to their mothers, they would be trained to be respectful and have self respect but as a dad I gat to train my son on what to do and what he shouldn't do.


Ebuka- Do they know who you are

Davido- Yeah, Imade is always like " Do you know who my dad is? He is David *tongue out* while who Hailey lives in America always say why is dad on TV?..
But during this Corona, I took a break and bonded with my family.


Ebuka- Are there things about your job that makes you worry about your kids, what are those?

Davido- Yeah, Imade already knows because she uses the internet then imagine all the scandals, my dad tells me all the time "David anything you are doing something always think about your children". The way social media is going now, once they grow, I will try to explain things to them, imade behaves likes me, when she comes around.


They may be bullied in school because of me but I will have the answers to what they are bullied for. Some maybe doctors, my dad is an elder in church and he is very quiet.


Ebuka- Do you want any of them to do music

Davido- Yeah, only if they are good, I mean very good.


Ebuka- How do you manage your two baby mamas and fiancee because it seems very happy at that phase.

Davido- For me at the end of the day, all my kids are equal, one thing I know is that no one is perfect. I'm not going to say there are no fights and quarrels but the love we have for our kids comes first. Imade and her sister talk almost every week, their moms make sure on that. The other day Imade was with ifeanyi at Grandpa's house.
It's not easy but as a Man you have to be responsible. Before I get engaged with someone you have to be a better person, whether we planned for it or not.


Ebuka- Let's talk about chioma, how long have you guys known?

Davido- I have known chioma for seven years,


Ebuka- When did you start dating her?

Davido- I didn't count but we have been together for five to six years, it just happened, Lati introduced me to Chioma. We went to the same school, Babcock. We were just friends and I became so used to her and she got used to me.


Ebuka- When did you realize, okay! she's the one?

Davido- Chioma is the type of girl I can stay with, she knew u had other kids, she's selfless, I trust her , "na me make her blow" she didn't want to do that assurance video, I even tell her to post. She takes care of everybody, like she cooks. She's just natural.


Ebuka- Do you worry about her because of your industry?

Davido- Yeah, of course, if I show you the messages she gets , people are evil. Sometimes she hasn't posted anything on social media for 3 weeks, so what do they want from her, it's just crazy!. I just saw your men with one girl, then chioma will tell them" and so?" What's my business" . She's handling it well, it's like an overnight blowing. She has a whole family plus mine and the blog issues everyday but she handles it well.


Ebuka- When is the wedding taking place?

Davido- Honestly coronavirus messed things up...


Ebuka- Was it meant to be in this year... 

Davido-- Oh yeah, it was meant to be in July but me and Chioma decided that maybe sometime next year. For me I want her to work on her business and album, the kids. Let everything just balance.

Davido- Yeah

Ebuka- How old were you when she died?
Davido- 10/11 years

Ebuka- Did you know she was going to die what happened?
Davido- It was just a cardiac arrest.


Ebuka- She wasn't sick? Nothing?

Davido- She used to get size once in while but not always. I was 10/11 years then I can't really remember
I see my mum like in chioma, one thing I always remember is if she was alive, it would be diamonds upon diamonds, houses and houses but she knew I will be great.. I took after her agility and generosity.


Ebuka- you were 10, did you understand what the death was about?

Davido- I didn't until I was 13, before she died I was mommy's boy because my dad was always busy, working in China. So death taking her from me was very painful..
