Actor Desmond Elliott Tweets Apology For Referring To Nigerian Youths As ''Children'' But Ignores Celebs He Accused Of Spreading Hate.

Actor and Honourable Desmond Elliott trended (is still trending) on the Nigerian social media after a video of him hit the internet where he called Nigerian youths ''Children'' for their roles in the EndSARS protest and referred to his celebrity colleagues as spreading hate on the social media.....

He was so dragged that he disabled comment on the apology he tweeted and has disabled commenting on some posts on Instagram....

His apology came in a series of tweets...

''I have read your honest feedback and suggestions and I sincerely apologize for addressing the youth as “Children”

I did not mean to be insensitive with this, it was borne out of the magnitude of destruction and looting of businesses I witnessed when I went on a tour of my constituency.

I saw women crying and my constituent members distraught as a result of the damages inflicted on their source of livelihood. I was moved by this while giving my submission on the floor of the House.

I allowed my emotions get the better of me and for this I apologize to everyone my earlier statements may have hurt.

Please, understand that even the best of us make mistakes. This is why, moving forward, I ask that we all try to engage constructively on the issues that affect all of us. I promise to do the same.

The pain that I feel for my constituents, the calls for assistance that I continue to get, and the need to mitigate against further destruction and violence will continue to drive my engagements and my work.

I thank you all for expressing your views, and in the future, I promise to be more conscious and aware.

Together, we will build a better Nigeria''.

*This apology is devoid of emotions and does not carry the same energy his speech at the house of assembly did...Maybe a video would have been better to address this..He also did not apologise to his celeb colleagues whom he accused of spreading hate on the social media so we take it that he meant that and owes no one any apology for saying it...

Anyway, apology or not, i will still post what some celebs said concerning his outburst.

    1. I watched him on PLUS TV yesterday where he was weeping and apologising. The woman anchor was almost laughing at him. He initially denied what he is accused of but when the video started trending, he went on damage control. It was late already.

I know Tinubu will be in a corner laughing over a bottle of drink with friends toasting "welcome on board, Desmond".

Now the identity of his baby mama has been revealed, lazy Nigerian youths were tagging his wife allover. Some wicked ones even went to her page greeting her to welcome Desmonds side-chick as wife number 2 and welcome d new baby.
Mehnnn dey finished Uncle Desmond ystday. The side-chick was even begging d post shld be pulled down, i kind of pitied her,but truth be told why have a whole child for a married man......d expose was too brutal.

What a shame that our clamour for the youths taking over may not be it but each and everyone of us being a better version of us.

  4. At this point I think there is this spirit that slaps people's brains immediately they get into politics and get a political position and that same spirit gives them a resetting slap again after their tenure is over cause I just can't understand how someone can be in tune with the suffering masses before he/she got into an office an then forgets where he/ she came from afterwards only for his senses to return thereafter.
    Desmond you no try abeg

  6. Destruction and looting of businesses abi? That's the one you guys are hanging on bcos u guys planned it. Peaceful protests for 12 days no issues. Suddenly u guys sent thugs. Why were u not touched by the outcry of peaceful protesters when they were attacked by thugs? None of u said a thing! Why were u not outraged at the brutality and killing of the NPF/SARS? Why were u not angered by the shooting of civilians by soldiers? Why have u not been angered by the commercialization of kidnapping and loss of Nigerian lives?

If u and ur senseless kind had done your damn work earlier, there wouldn't have been a protest in the first place. No thugs could have been sent in the 2nd place. Why are u not speaking about lives we've lost??? Why properties that can be replaced?

    3. God of the heavens and earth will bless you for me.. You just captured my heart and my response to him.
That destruction the hoodlums did was their hatchet plan and also what people that play whot call last card to disrupt the peaceful protesters and their plans got successful hence their clinging unto it to implement laws to gag us but it won't work for them.
As for Desmond Elliot, you are in for serious trouble,if you escape the curses heaped on you this period the Nation is in a pensive mood, make I know who be your jazz man!
You've been silly enough with your attitude but you see this time, you use your hands tie your whole body, you go suffer am!

  10. So spreading hate is when the youth ask for good governance, by exposing how they're being killed at the toll gate to the world or speaking about how the government hijacked the peaceful protest and burnt a police station in orile but instead of taking the army to orile they instead went to lekki where there have been no history of violence to kill them..

Desmond, you no go die better. Foolish boy

  11. This guy, yahaya Bello and Ben Ayade are the reason I don't believe Nigeria will be better with the youths as our leaders. Huge disappointment, all of them.

    3. Our leaders should be chosen based on merits and not because they're young and vibrant. We need right thinking women, old or young to pilot our affairs not all these fake rabbits jumping up and down on social media deceiving themselves.
Fela Durotoye and Kingsley Moghalu are young and sensible. Can't say the same about Sowore.

Anon thanks for the remind, totally forgot the cow.

    4. @Castle, I love the man Kingsley moghalu. He's everything a sane developed country needs to help push their country further forward.
Would be sure to make sure that i, my family, friends and well wishers votes for him should incase he ever contests again. Such a national and international asset. I don't think Nigeria deserve that man sef because they'd do everything to frustrate and stress him out, unfortunately☹️.

Desmond you saw how your colleagues kept palliatives away from the poor masses, you didn't talk about it in your ranting, it's the same social media that brought into politics that is giving you headache. Anyways your days are numbered in that office better start counting down. As for your apology it's dead on arrival cos it lacks empathy, totally unacceptable.
