  1. Nope I disagree. It's about the individual, not where the person's from.

    1. Candy, what then happens to equity, fairness and rotational system as earlier proposed? How would you feel if the north continue holding unto power knowing they have the numerical voting strength? You can talk of individual I agreed but does it mean we can't get a better individual in the south? First we must admit and accept it to be given to South before the issue of individual comes in.

    2. @Teejay, does it also mean we cannot get a good leader from the North?? We have had bad leaders, yea I know. But saying the next President should come from the South, I strongly disagree.

    3. Teejay... The problem is not the numerical strength of the north,it is the fact that southerners do not vote. In the last election in Edo state there were over 2.2 million registered. Less than 25% of Edo people voted. In 2016, almost the same number of people voted in the gubernatorial polls

    4. Candy, What happened to the three decade the north held unto power? Does it mean in the three decades they couldn't get just one good leader to transform Nigeria? What is the probability they would if they keep holding on? Do you think the people that came up with the zoning system were stupid or drunk? You still haven't answer my question. I am asking again, where is the equity and fairness in all of this if a particular region keeps holding power? Does Nigeria belongs to anyone? Even in your various states, power rotates to different senatorial zones. So why won't the Federal be so? We should tell ourselves the truth, if power was in the hands of the South all this while, the north would have gone into military coup or war to claim power.

Power shift should be the number one thing to agree on in the spirit of fairness to other region then followed by a search for a credible individual.

I rest my case on my engagement with you.

    5. @Candy, Northerners has proven time and time again in almost all fields of their low intelligence. They are at best when politicking and nothing more to offer the country. The worst combination ever is POWER + LACK OF INTELLIGENCE. The earlier power is taken from them for good, the better.

  2. The one dat fell into the hands of the south, how far? Is his state a master piece? The whole of the south is still an eyesore.

  7. Statement like this makes it look as if the north is rendering favour to the South whereas it shouldn't be.

Not just the southern part but categorically I will say the eastern part to balance the equation if truly Nigeria is one as claimed. The north won't want to relinquish power to the eastern part of the country and you know that is what should have saved Nigeria from the secession agitation. But so unfortunate, it's pretty too late. It has crossed the Rubicon.

65% if not more of the indigenous people of the old eastern region are today no longer interested in the seat of the presidency but outright disintegration of Nigeria. Do I blame them? Absolutely NO. Nigeria has never worked and I doubt if it will not even with the presidency given to an easterner. Do you know why? If terrorism being sponsored by the northern politicians and have their kinsmen in power could be this brutal, what then would happen if a southerner ascend the office.

To me restructuring would have solved this problem long ago but the north kicked against it. Since restructuring failed, then disintegration is inevitable. Nigeria is a failed state even at 60.

    1. But Teejay, the East may deserve power but unfortunately, power is not and shouldn't be given. It is earned. That said agitation that happened was like loosing a 2nd civil-war and guess how loosers are usually treated? We should have used diplomacy or found another way around getting that equity but we failed again by being confrontational. I agree with you and share your pessimism regarding this country. Disintegration is truly inevitable because the unity the northern man is ready to die for is purely because he gains all and contributes almost nothing to it.

  9. To me DISINTEGRATION is the only solution.
    Nigeria is no more existing.

    1. Nigeria not only has it been thrown to the dogs, is almost gone and the feudal lords knows about this. They are fighting just like a dying man would trying to keep Nigeria one.

Few days ago, the vice president said that there's a crack and that crack will split Nigeria if time isn't taking. The Arewa group warned him for such remark. Tell me, what is the north jittery about disintegration? They haven't done well and want to drag us all into their impoverishment.

Conduct a referendum and let the people decide what they want. Is that too difficult a thing to do? No matter how and what anyone thinks and believe on, Nigeria will eventually disintegrate. It's just a matter of time and that time isn't far anymore.

  10. for another shot, it won’t be a bad idea. But God forbid we think of a political figure as a messiah. We mustn’t have the bias view that a certain person from another part of the state would do better. We must have our fingers crossed. Their promises means nothing.
However, Power in the north has been going on for too long. The systemic corruption would get worse if power remains in the north in another presidential election.
Almost every high post in Nigeria has a northerner in charge.

  11. Abeg we need to go our separate ways.
The south just wants to leave this union with the north, they should keep their presidency.
