She needs security and constant reassurance and while Kidd is a good guy, I'm not certain he's ready for this level of commitment.
He may find someone like Erica emotionally draining in the long run as he's also trying to fill his tank. You can't give what you don't have and love (or the appearance of it) alone cannot sustain a relationship. The timing may simply be off for Kidd.
