  4. Such a sad ending. But what would make a son raised his hands to beat up his own father mercilessly? Abomination...

    1. Years of anger built up probably from watching his dad assault and insult his mum, the one day he decided to stand up for her, it ended in blood shed.

  5. The paramedics' delay didn't cause his death as the writer seems to allude in the last sentence of this write up. His dysfunctional relationship with his father and his abuse of drugs caused his death.

    1. 1. I heard his dad killed him because of debts he owed (to business partners) - my young mind at that time wondered why his dad didn't just pay off the debts instead of shooting him.

      2. From this story, his dad was angry NOT JEALOUS because HE ASSUMED THE ROLE OF GOD which he wasn't. He forgot the parable of the prodigal son who eventually repented and returned to his father. His dad LACKED SPIRITUAL MATURITY even as a pastor.

      3. Marvin Jr. had MO RIGHT and NO REASON to raise his hands against his father. His mom had been married to his dad for over 45 years so, knew how to handle/respond to his unbridled anger.

      4. Both men's actions were really not at the spur of the moment. Subconsciously, son had thought of beating up his dad and dad had thought of shooting his son. Both acted on these thoughts at that instance. I mean, WHAT would make you want to beat your dad or shoot your son? BOTH PLAYED TOO MUCH WITH THE DEVIL IN THEIR THOUGHTS.

      5. Marvin Jr. had cocained-adrenaline cocktail rushing through his veins while his dad had self-righteous rage goading him on. Years of resentment piled up on - A FATAL RECIPE!

      6. No healthy adult should live with their parents or siblings - broke, broken or buoyant. BREEDS DISRESPECT.

      7. Parents stop interfering in or imposing on your children's life once they are adults. JUST ADVISE THEM and HANDS OFF!

Live your life and let your children live theirs. CUT-OFF THE APRON-STRINGS❗

  16. he would have been saved if he had a better father, better upbringing, avoided hitting the foolish old man, able to save enough money to be able to keep a roof over his head, avoided drugs& alcohol.....well too late now....RIP to the dead. Please learn one or two lessons from this story...anger brings nothing but trouble. May God keep us all!

  19. Do now the paramedics are at fault abi? They should have rushed in to receive bullets? Even doctors must ensure their own safety before treating patients.

  20. Surprised no one mentioned the fact that Marvin Sr. was a cross dresser.
