Adams Oshiomhole, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, has finally spoken up after the victory of his political adversary, Godwin Obaseki, in the September 19 governorship election in Edo State.
“I want to thank everybody. I am sure a lot of people think comrade is down but I am not down. When God says you are not down, you are not down and I am not down.
No matter the outcome of an election or a particular edition of the process, have faith in God and have faith in our country. God bless you all,” Oshiomhole told Gee Africa TV while granting his first interview since the party’s defeat at the poll in Edo.
Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo, helped Obaseki to succeed him as the state governor in 2016, but the bubble of their relationship busted in 2019.
Obaseki accused Oshiomhole of instigating a crisis within the APC in Edo and later call for his resignation as the National Chairman of the party.
Obaseki also accused Oshiomhole of wanting to control the affairs of the government in Edo state.
The rift escalated to the extent that Obaseki was pushed out of the governorship race in APC by committees set-up by Oshiomhole.
Obaseki defected to the People’s Democratic party but Oshiohmole insisted he will teach him a lesson by ending his ambition to run for another four years as Edo governor. He polled 307,955 votes to defeat Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the APC, who secured 223,619 votes.

ReplyDeleteBURST is BURST - past tense and past participle.
Oshiomhole probably sold DIGNIFIED SILENCE for a morsel of food while riding on the back of NLC to achieve his political ambition.
The same man that told a pretty trader/widow to go and die, then pulled a PR stunt by drinking tea with her the next day. Nobody was fooled.
ARROGANCE makes a lot of noise and oozes through skin pores.
Obaseki, a lesson for you from Oshiomhole - God abases the proud! If you like don't learn.
I dey listen to Bulldozer. You are bulldozering my problem

Shameless and deceitful man - calling God, God in every statement! You have been disgraced and sent to political oblivion, in Edo State and Nigeria. May be, your master, okpolo-eyes Jagaban, will alleviate your insignificance by making you his PA in Lagos. This is what happens when you are not humble and want to equate yourself with God - you will be brought low in the mud. Okpolo eyes Jagaban, yours is next - before 2023! Edo State has began a political revolution in Nigeria. Up Edolites!!!! Edo no be Lagos or any State where a godfather still superintends over!
ReplyDeletePerhaps, this loss will give him the opportunity to do a lot of soul searching and the right his wrongs, after all,who is perfect?
ReplyDeleteLose some and win some simple
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of Nigerian politics. But Jagaban of Lagos will not lose. He is far different from Oshiomole. He knows when to bow and allow the game to play itself like he did during Fashola. He fixes his loyal associates in places and doesn't mingle in their affairs. Please study the way Jagaban of Lagos operates.
