ReplyDeleteIve wanted to register for fashion class, I didn't know this pandemic will drag for too long, if I had known, I would have started since may. I'm a coper and we have been at home for a long time now. I was afraid, what if I register and they call us back. Now is been 5 months. I was afraid of losing my money (I don't have much to start losing them) that's why I didn't start. I will feel so bad if this year ends without me having any knowledge on tailoring /sewing.
I want to register somewhere, but what if they ask is to start going back to our PPA...
Yesterday, I came across a comment by Olori Jojo. I read it late, so replying her may be a futile mission, as she may not see it.
ReplyDelete@Olori Jojo, you don't have to eat once a day to lose weight, that is crash dieting. As a matter of fact, you would lose more weight if you eat more because digestion means an active metabolism and an active metabolism means weight loss.
When you eat fewer calories, your body goes into fast mode and your metabolism is slowed down(remember how frugal you were with food and utility items during the lockdown in order not to run out of supply? That is how frugal your body becomes when disbursing calories for bodily functions when you allow it dive into fast mode). Metabolism in this context is the weight loss department of your body, if it is slowed down, it means you would lose weight slower (which isn't what you are trying to achieve.) You can stretch that one meal that you have a day into 6 portions and that way, you would lose weight faster.
Eating "small" portions, six times a day, would keep your metabolism busy for at least 18 hours (it takes 3 hours for a meal to be digested.) If your weight loss department is doing an overtime job of 18 hours, it means more calories have been disbursed for use and that interpretes itself externally as weight loss. This 18 hours can be upped if you make certain dietary adjustments. For instance eating Goat meat would keep your digestive system and by default metabolism busy for averagely 3 days, plus it is a better choice due to its lean fat index and high protein content.
Breakfast is important, don't skip it! If you must eat carbs (carbohydrates), its best you eat that in the morning, so your body would have broken and used it before you retire for the day. Eat your carbs with lots of vegetables. The vegetables will break down the sugar in the carbs, thus making it healthy. Note that in order to unlock this benefit, you should have on your plate a cup of cooked rice (for instance) at most and lots of vegetables cooked with very little oil (or non). Lunch should majorly be proteins and veggies, snack on healthy nuts (small portion) and vegetables. Eat fruits in small portion(you can still gain weight by eating fruits) your smoothie should be made up of veggies mostly. Dinner is not necessary, but in order to increase satiety and eliminate the urge to binge at night, you can munch on some cucumber and carrots. Avoid junks!
Instead of yam porridge, you can try sweet potato porridge which tastes perfect. I prepare mine without oil. Just a blend of tomatoes, red bell pepper, pepper, onions and ginger as base, crayfish and cameroun pepper to create the dark red effect that palm oil gives, lots of Fish and vegetables, make it slightly watery and your taste buds would thank you for that treat... Instead of stew, you can make a sauce with carrots, green peas, green pepper, yellow pepper, liver, cabbage, etc. This tastes divine. Another option is ugu stew ( efo riro or edikaikong but without oil). For swallow you can use oat, unripe plantain flour, fonio(acha) and some of the whole grains available in the market. Portion should be about a fist size and lots of soup. Okra without oil is perfect, vegetable soups are too, provided you don't add much oil. Egusi soup should be a cheat meal.eliminate Banga soup/Ofe akwu if necessary...
You can detoxify daily by drinking infused water. Lemon + cucumber + mint leaf + ginger... All infused in water is a perfect detox elixir. Just a slice of lemon in your glass of water is just perfect also. Stay hydrated: at least two litres of water and a maximum of 3.7 litres according to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine... Be active. If you cannot run, walk (brisk walking) if you are too shy to go out for that, dance. If you are too shy to do that again, do chores around your house everyday...All the best!

When you feel ungrateful, stop and read David’s ‘benefit list’ in your Bible – it will fire up your attitude of gratitude. Even when circumstances don’t look good, God can turn them around for your benefit. In all things He deserves your thanks. Even at his lowest point in the belly of a whale, Jonah recognised the need to thank God, and ‘out of the belly of hell cried…I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving’ (Jonah 2:2, 9 KJV). So make a habit of ‘giving thanks always for all things unto God’ (Ephesians 5:20 KJV). In other words, develop an attitude of gratitude.

1. No more exclusive breastfeeding.
2. No more wearing of bra and breast pads for 24 hours..Ahhh How person go wear bra, d underwire metal of the bra go just dey pierce me like needle anyhow? If u tend to remove the metal wire, d breast no go package well. It is really exhausting!!! Abeg If my breast wan settle down before me na e sabi wetin I know be say fresh air go dey reach dere now & I can now breathe in and out peacefully. Nursing mothers abeg una dey try.
3. I can put her comfortably in her baby walker since her legs are now firm so she can move around with it and finally, I will introduce wrapper to strap her at my back and continue with my life o jare..
