Are you battling a stubborn habit like drugs and alcohol? Gambling? anger? Lies? pride? Overeating? Pornography? Here’s good news. Jesus said He came ‘that captives will be released’ (Luke 4:18 NLT). You can recover. You can get back what you’ve lost, or something better. How? By doing two things David did when the Amalekites destroyed his home and took his family captive: 1) He turned to God for strength. ‘David strengthened himself in the Lord’ (1 Samuel 30:6 NKJV). Face it; if you could solve the problem yourself you’d have done it. Acknowledging your powerlessness is the first step to victory. But acknowledging it is not the same as giving in to defeat and despair. It means that you can’t, but God can, and He will when you surrender to Him. 2) He turned to God for a strategy. ‘David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all”’ (v. 8 NKJV). Note the word ‘pursue’. David was relentless; he didn’t stop until he recovered everything the enemy had stolen from him. And that must be your attitude too. You say, ‘But I’ve failed so often.’ The Bible says, ‘Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again’ (Proverbs 24:16 NIV). You say, ‘How can I be righteous in God’s eyes and keep falling?’ Because your righteousness is not earned by your performance, it’s transferred to you through Christ’s performance on the cross (see 2 Corinthians 5:21). Knowing that will give you the faith and courage to ‘pursue…overtake…and recover all’ – and bounce back.

If it is any consolation,I am a single mom too to two girls and I have failed in so many areas of my life. Like,I have big time baggage but I do cry once in a while,and then move on.

Just coming from Stella's post on instagram and I don't know how I feel, I can't explain it.
ReplyDeleteBelieve you me, I understand body shaming, but I decided long ago, not to let it get to me.
I have a big tummy that has refused to go down after traumatic child birth experiences, which I still feel pains in part of my lower body.
And people will want to make me feel bad, but I asked myself, to be alive and take care of my kids or be dead
from the things I went through, which one is better?
I choose the former abeg, and developed a crocodile skin.
Or is it my petite nature, I was called mosquito growing up, but thank God for my parents, they made me feel like a princess, so all the insults fell off my body.
God used my parents to give me internal confidence which is with me till today.
A lot of us have used our mouths and actions to destroy lives, please let's stop it.
Parents and guardians, please play your role well in the lives of your children.
I have a lot to write, but let me stop here.
May God help that BV to know that she is worth more, Christ came to the earth, because He loved her.
May she experience divine love from within and may her spirit, soul and body be healed, in Jesus mighty name Amen

ReplyDeleteToday, we are admonished to be alert and careful of the kind of friends we keep. Not everyone should be our friend. Be aware of those who may have been planted to make you unserious and to pull you down. Be careful of that friendship which is unhealthy for your
marriage. Be careful and aware of that friendship which is unhealthy for
your business or career. Be aware of that friendship which is unhealthy
for your prayer life. Be aware of that friendship which is unhealthy for
your destiny and future.
Be careful of the kind of friends you keep. Do you make friends with
those who encourage you to do bad things or do you relate with those
with genuine fear of the lord? Proverbs 12:26 says: "The righteous
choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them
astray." Proverbs 18:24 also says: "One who has unreliable friends soon
comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."
"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17.
Since one man sharpens another, we should relate with those who will
sharpen our life, our business, our marriage and relationship with God.
Let all relate with those who will add to his or her life, for an unbeliever
or someone without the fear of God can never make us to serve God better.
The devil is roaming about destroying people through bad friends and all
should be aware of this. Do away with that person that will destroy you.
Do away with that man that will ruin you. Proverbs 13:20 says: "Walk
with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm."
A word is enough for the wise.
Prayers
Ask God to remove bad people from your life and to bring good
people your way.
Pray for the repentance of bad friends who pretend to be good.
Pray for all those suffering because of bad friendship.
Keep working, grinding & believing in yourself & never give up because you’re up next!😍🙌😍💯You will be remembered for who you are, not what you say you are. You are responsible for ensuring both are always in sync.
