    1. A pressure cooker will make a lot of difference. I add potash after the 1st boil of about 15mins cos I like my ukwa very soft.

  12. Stella, you and this your weird combo. I tried a weird dish too and it came out good. I cooked melon soup but instead of melon seed I used sesame seeds. It had the bitterleaf taste, I think the sesame seeds gave it that taste

    1. That sesame seed is what they call small egusi in the east. Its cheap and only broke peeps buy it .Was surprised to learn it's a big thing. I will start buying it now.

    2. Melon and sesame are 2 different things. You can’t say you used one to cook another. In my place sesame is called beneseed... way better soup than melon. Cook with less oil, dried bushmeat and dried unripe pawpaw.

    3. Unknown, you dont need to add potash to your ukwa at all. With pressure cooker, it will come out as soft as you want. Besides, potash isnt that healthy. I add a bit of garlic and uziza leave to my ukwa with dried fish. It is heavenly.
