.Suleman said this in a tweet on Tuesday while reacting to the death sentence handed to a musician, Yahaya Sharif-Aminu, by an Upper Sharia Court in Kano State.
.
He tweeted, “A country that pardons terrorists wants to kill a man for blasphemy. I am sure even Saudi Arabia is shocked… the worst form of deception is self-deceit.”
.
The Federal Government had recently released over 600 repentant terrorists and given them N20,000 each to settle down, a move which has been criticised by a large section of Nigerians.
.
Some states in northern Nigeria operate the Sharia system of justice.
.
The Sharia system, which also has its own Court of Appeal, handles both civil and criminal matters involving Muslims and its judgments can also be challenged in Nigeria’s secular Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
.
Sentences handed down by the courts usually include floggings in cases of adultery and fornication; amputations for theft and the death penalty for blasphemy.
@punchnewspaper
He's right. As for settling the "repentant" BH terrorists, that was a WRONG move. Then again nothing should shock us in this 9ja.

DeletePhoenix darling, we are o. Ceaser kuku calls this country a zoo. Person suppose look for how to relocate o.
DeleteBut really! I dnt understand why a particular religion law will supersede a national law. Killing someone over wat he said at this century and time??
ReplyDeleteHow many times has the Muslim blaspheme against other religions. And we call ourselves one Nigeria? May God help us oo.
Govt will pardon boko haram that killed thousands if not millions of lives. Yet they choose to kill a man over religious issue.
Religion is truly the opium of the people. Too bad.
I cry for Nigeria my country ,no freedom of speech again
DeleteHe so right...
ReplyDeleteEven the pardoned BH members, did they truly repent?
ReplyDeleteImagine the reason for sentencing a whole human being to death.
When nations are even trying to abolish death sentence to the worst offenders

ReplyDeleteNigeria is a big joke, when
ReplyDeleteyou stay in core north you
will understand better, they have
their own law, they are not aware
if Nigeria is a circular country.they only know about sharia
Bunch of hypocrites. The same north where on one side of the street you can commit any atrocities you like, but immediately you cross to the other side you dare not cos of their yeye Sharia law. Does its power supercedes that of Nigeria constitution? I really don't get it. Sometimes, these norther people make one believe there's nothing like one Nigeria. No wonder Biafra people are agitating to be on their own. All those human rights activists should better stand up in one voice against this barbaric killing about to happen.
Delete🚶🚶🚶 out of the post with annoyance.
