The Negative Side Of Forgiveness

Interesting read!!!!

''I bought honey from a known honey vendor! My driver picked it up and in the course of filtering it, I discovered odd impurities. So, I decided to boil and filter the honey. (When you boil honey, it reduces viscosity so you can filter it much more easily and efficiently)

To my chagrin, the honey was frying rather than boiling. You May know that only oil fries, honey boils. If it fries, it is not honey. In short it was not honey, it was bleached used engine oil topped and mixed with little honey. That was why it had odd impurities!

I promptly alerted the appropriate authorities. When we went there we found out that my suspicions were right. The lady was on the process of bleaching more used engine oil.

Then pleas came from left and right. Please, forgive her. Even the authorities joined in the plea for forgiveness.

Now many of you reading this will be minded towards such forgiveness but, have you thought of the livers she has damaged in her lust for profit?
Have you considered the suffering and hospital bills of the many who had purchased and gulped her toxically lethal honey mix?

People who behave like that, should bear the full weight of punishment as s deterrent. In fact, the impunity in our country today is a direct consequence of our unwillingness to exact punishment for transgressions.

Indeed forgiveness breeds evil

Next time, do not be too quick to forgive. Where there is much forgiveness, there is no deterrence, therefore evil blooms. You get? Next time, when you are minded to forgive evil, remember that by so doing, you are contributing to evil.

    1. There is no negative side to forgiveness. I guess the crowd saying forgive her meant that he should let it slide, so she doesn't face justice.

This is a criminal offence that involves human lives. That woman needs to be taken off the streets and made to face the tune of the law, for the sake of ignorant people who would buy and consume her 'honey'. He would be doing the society a disservice if that woman isn't disciplined.

To forgive someone doesn't rule out justice. We need to do the right thing.

It's only Yahweh that can forgive n forget grievous sins.

  8. Just like someone raping someone and everyone tells you to forgive. Please that one does not follow as he might go back and rape others.

I think it depends on the offense. Forgive but if the offense borders on grevious crime, let the person learn their lessons by doing the time especially in cases like the one above

  13. 'Forgiveness' and "Don't Judge" are the two most abused and mis-applied the word of God in this country..

To judge can mean two things literally:
    1. To assess, form opinion on what is good or bad.
    2. To condemn to punishment- e.g, this one will go to hell, be destroyed, etc.

God did not say which should not assess things to decide which is good or bad. Just that as number 2, we are not the one to pronounce punishment in people.

Let's learn to call evil evil when we see it, in order to help ourselves and others to flee it's appearance.

    Blessings

  16. Hmm,I am praying today God to lead me right now . I have someone that owes me 6.5million since 2yrs ago, she was locked up in kirikiri prison since November begging me to released her that she will pay me but there is no means for her to pay bcos she promised me that she will will sell her house to repay me which she sold the house at my back and didn't pay me 1kobo. She has one house but she said she can't sell it that that is the only house she have to move into. I am so down that it is God that is sustaining me, all she and her family do is beginning and beg that she will pay me back. I just need God wisdom bcos I have lost so much at my 33yrs in this wicked by being nice and always forgive easy but this one I am at crossroad

    1. let her remain in prison until her family sell that house and pay you your money. Sometimes, you need to be a bigger bitch to teach foolish persons lessons. Be there doing mother Christmas.

    2. They are all playing on your intelligence using 'God' which most Nigerians use to get away with evil.
You have forgiven her but she must pay you your money. Next time she won't swindle another person.

    3. Pls leave her in prison for her sentence. If they want her out let them sell the house and pay it off. She wants to keep the house so she has where to stay but she doesn't care what happens to u. She even sold the other house behind ur back. I beg she is evil

    5. In a sane society you don't take that risk of lending money to anyone. That is what banks are for. You take a loan, you drop the collateral. Legally binding contract to protect both parties. If you can't take a loan, you get a credit card. Use and pay back over time, and the collateral is the damage to your credit score and loan life if you fail to pay back. That is why most Nigerians think it is ok to owe, cos they have never faced the consequences of owing. Anyway, how does someone owe you that much unless there was a legal contract.

  17. Forgiveness does not mean that a person should be excused from the consequences of his or her actions. Mercy must not rob justice.

  21. People are very wicked. My father spent almost 2months in the hospital and came back due to diabetes. We have this neighbor that deals with honey, on trust we started giving her money to help us buy original honey for my father not knowing that what she sells is cooked sugar, everytime father use the honey, his sugar level will skyrocket and my dad is type 1. So he has to stop using honey. Not long after that, our neighbor brought home her honey making factory at home. It now done us that so many people are falling victim and dying bbecause of this greedy woman. Imagine a diabetes patient taken what should be avoided. People are wicked

    2. @arsenalfirstlady;please google is your friend. Diabetics should not take honey (real or fake). Honey spikes the blood sugar, which in turns affects insulin levels. In fact, they should avoid anything carbs like rice that also spikes blood sugar. Please google alternative foods for diabetics. The keto diet is much better due to the absence of carbs.

  22. Boko haram fighters apprehended by the Govt, became 'repentant' fighters and were 'forgiven'. Murderous honey dealer got caught, authorities asked for forgiveness.

  26. I think the world forgiveness has been abused several tomes. Forgiveness doesn't mean people should not pay for their crimes and not held responsible. Forgiveness simply means the offended no longer hold grudges against the offender. Forgiveness doesn't necessarily mean everyone should go back to status quo. I can forgive you and don't want anything to do with you again. Dey your dey, make I dey my dey.

  33. This just made me angry. The people are pleading for her because they can relate( they also have their own bits of dishonesty and corruption in business dealings). That's why Justice is so important. Even God is just. He didn't jsut forgive us, he meted out Justice(through Jesus). We are free because he died in our place. His blood was the justice. That's why the legal system exists naa, so that while we forgive, the state can sue you and you'll go to jai. the society will be safer with that woman and her likes in jail.
