ReplyDeleteRest in peace.

The truth is family should be careful of their utterances to their kids...especially those having issues in school.
DeleteI have a male friend who had many extra yrs as he was even given a course he didnt like. Parents forced him into sciences from sec school. Everybody including his family looked down on him, parents always calling him useless/worthless dat he wont amount to anything. Finally graduated with 3rd class after 6yrs or so.
He left naija, living in Sweden,he's in finance....doing extremely well. Married with kids...we shouldnt be so fast to write off ppl.
RIP to d dead...
My mother use to make me feel so useless. my problem wasnt even education i did okay in school. But she will call me lazy, useless and all manner of names. tell me she doesnt even know how i will turn out in life, that she is sure i will not be useful to her. i dont know maybe all this was cos she was a single mother. At a point i started believing these things.
DeleteBut to have my sanity i moved out started living alone. got a good job and found out im not so useless afterall. Im married now and working along with balancing motherhood and figuring out im not as useless as my mother said. I am now the one even taking care of her.
They should have withdrawn him and sent him to a private university, he would have finished with a first class. Public university is for the strong hearted.
DeleteMy God!! This 2020 should do and go please. God, Na your hand we dey oo. RIP Emmanuel
ReplyDeleteNigerians are too judgemental esp when you have poor academic performance. They make you look like the dumbest person and good for nothing cuz of low performance. If he was living abroad I don't he will commit suicide over poor academic performance.
ReplyDeleteSucide rate in the abroad is 90% higher than what is recorded in Nigeria. they commit suicide for the flimsiest excuse like boredom, no body likes me, what will it look like to be dead etc
DeleteYeah he can not commit suicide because of poor academic performance. Ths is Because his personal tutor will have helped him out by sign posting him to the right resources. He will also be referred to mental and wellbeing team in the university.
DeleteMay God give the innocent woman that went through the stress of birthing him the strength, understanding and fortitudes of enduring this, It is well with the innocent woman. Dear God, strengthen her. I pray her loved ones stay very close to her at this critical and delicate time in her life, Amen.
ReplyDeleteMay i and my loved ones not be unlucky to birth unfortunate children, Amen.
And a very hard working young promising Doctor died yesterday on an auto crash?? Life!
ReplyDeleteIf plots could be twisted i would have wished for his life to be given to that young lady. Irony of life, Some gasp and pray for life while some throw theirs away.
Hey.. Lil aunty calm down. You don't know them, neither do you have an idea of the kinda life they lived while they were alive. Some thoughts are best left to die down right in the mind were they were made. You mustn't say/type everything you think. Have a nice day dear.
DeleteChisom, if you were the mother of this young man and you read this statement you just made here about exchanging his life for that young lady’s, how do you think you’d feel?
DeleteWhy are you so judgmental about people’s lives, you do not know the true circumstances surrounding his death or if truly it was because of poor academic performance, just because you read it on a blog. Please learn to have empathy and stop acting like you’re all perfect and all knowing, thanks.
DeleteThank God that you don't have such powers to do that..
DeleteI have never understood people that drops distateful mean spirited comments when someone commits suicide.
Just one kidney/ liver sickness in this part of the world can humble the most happiest person, let's all pray never to be in that position when we feel like giving up on life..
You are not God& only God can judge him..
Chizzy j
Chisom, your above comment is inappropriate...very inappropriate.
DeleteHow do you expect his family to feel reading what you posted?
Wow!! No empathy at all.
DeletePlease calm down people, she was just thinking out loud
DeleteRip Oboh
ReplyDeleteRIP
ReplyDeleteThis Nigeria isn’t easy for a honest individual. After graduating as the best graduating student of my department, done with NYSC. Only to get a job in one of our banks that pay you 17,500 naira monthly because you didn’t meet target. Nigeria is for the strong at heart...
ReplyDeleteMental health must be taken seriously in this country. Kudos to the NGOs who have been doing massive work there past few years. May God comfort the family of this young man and may he rest I. Peace.
ReplyDelete*in
DeleteIn many places there are no resources in place to assist those going through mental issues. Plus so many ppl believe in witchcraft and such. They will quicker believe that someone did something to them than to believe that their loved one is ill and need medical attention.
DeleteEveryone looks fine but deep down are fighting battles no one knows about.. This is sad.. Rip
ReplyDeleteGbam. Only God will come through for people
DeleteHmm,queen you're so right,a wrong word or action said to them can trigger them to commit, please if you don't have good things to say to people, kindly walk pass, you don't know what battle they re fighting. Rest in peace young guys, but I wish you guys didn't take ur own life
DeleteThat's the truth.
DeleteLife is a struggle but doesn't worth taking your own life.
Comfort to the family of this young man.
Well said.
DeleteNo need judging or asking why suicide.
Some people aren’t strong enough for this world is something I have realized and it’s not their fault most times.
May God comfort his mother 💔
I feel for his Mum
ReplyDeleteRest in peace to the dead
ReplyDeleteThis one didn't know what he came to life to do. Just because of common school performance you are taking your own life when we've got many multimillionares who have never seen the four walls of primary school before smh
ReplyDeleteRip Aboh ..... This was the guy I was talking about. Please help did not commit suicide in the presence of his mother. People should stop twisting the story. Aboh was a a very lively guy, jovial and we'll liked by everyone around him but he couldn't get the love from his family where they thought he was a useless and good for nothing person. Let me just stop here cos he's well known to me. May God have mercy and his soul and grant him eternal rest.
ReplyDeleteMay God rest in beautiful soul
DeleteWhy are they now twisting the story 😖
DeleteThe earlier we all realise tha education is not the key to success in this life the better. You want to be successful? Just learn basic english nd maths and be street smart.
ReplyDeleteThe society contributed to his depression. May the rest of this year bring healing to the troubled.
True.
DeleteAmen
DeleteSuicide it's not an option no matter the situation..may his soul rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteWhy do this to your family? School is not for everyone. That you didn't even go at all doesn't make you a failure. Rip Aboh.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cynthia. Unfortunately, we’ve been brought up to believe that you have to go to school to be a success in life. If not, why would someone struggle to pass basic school leaving exam five times before giving up? Precious time that should have been used to learn a trade o.
DeleteWell said Ayettymama.
DeleteGoing to school doesn't guarantee success but it gives you a solid foundation you can built on.
Some things I learnt in school has helped me in my life journey and broaden my horizon.
Yes. Sometimes,I regret going to school.
DeleteI wish...
Wrong priorities! No matter what... Nduka...(sings- sia_ Never give up)
ReplyDeleteRest in peace to Aboh and Oboh
ReplyDeleteHmmm, is this report about the same person or different people? May he or tgem RIP. May God heal the troubled hearts. It is not easy to be a Nigerian on any ground, family issues, academic issues, financial issues, health issues, government issues, relationship issues etc. It is well.
DeleteIt's the same person nau abi I'm the one missing something? Rest in peace Aboh. May God give your family and friends fortitude to bear the loss. Amen
DeleteAnonymous 11:07,
DeleteI thought I was the only one who noticed. Definitely about two different people.
It has not gotten to that nah haba.. Rwst well ooo...
ReplyDeleteRest In Peace young man. Its possible he had other deeper issues tormenting him and just couldn’t cope. May God comfort your loved ones you left behind.
ReplyDeleteSuicide is never an option
ReplyDeleteI went through a lot growing up as a child, and yes! I had suicidal thoughts and even prayed for God to take my life but God came through for me
Mathers these days thinks it's all about providing food, clothings (all basic needs) but it's much more than that. Our children need emotional support too, if they can't tell a family member they'll take it outside and may even get a wrong advice
I'm not judging him one bit
May his soul rest in peace
Even if you fail countless times, dust yourself and try again
ReplyDeleteOoooh goodness, so sad such a young fellow. RIP to him. May God comfort his family.
ReplyDeleteRip young man
ReplyDeleteCant they ban otapiapia. The same Otapiapia that Awolowo took to end it all
