The testimony, presently identified as ‘Exhibit J,’ was given by Yakubu before Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of Federal High Court, Abuja in January 2017 where he stood as prosecution witness in a case where some NNPC officials and Atlantic Energy Brass Development Ltd stood trial for illegal crude oil lifting.

At Wednesday’s sitting, counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, M.S. Abubakar began with the cross-examination of the defendant, who was to testify on ‘Exhibit J' as the first defence witness, but was opposed by the defence counsel, Ahmed Raji SAN, who objected to his client’s cross-examination on the exhibit.
Every government Ministry, Department or Agency reels of corruption. Very sickening.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe this guy is still roaming free. You've got to admire him though, if you want to steal have his kind of liver. When his cash stash was discovered and he was ousted, the EFCC said they found a particular amount but he retorted that his money was more than that and the only reason for the discrepancy is that EFCC stole out of the money thinking he will keep quiet. His strategy obviously worked because they've been delaying the case since 2017. In a year or two, the case will be swept under the carpet. As long as the chairman of EFCC have NPF training nothing will get done and the corruption will continue.
