Who has lost their sense of smell recently?Did you go to check if you had coronavirus?how did you treat the loss of sense of smell?
Who can describe to us what this is?Is this a new strain of Malaria or the Coronavirus?
Please if you lose your sense of smell,go and get tested for the Coronavirus please.....
Omg I'm on this boat. I can't smell or taste anything. Like I can only taste if something is sugary or salty that's all. This is coupled with serious headaches and flu symptoms o. I have been treating malaria and typhoid with flu. I won't lie, I was really scared at first but the smell and taste buds are gradually coming back. Hmmmmn
ReplyDeleteYou are already recovering from the virus. I pray God perfects your healing. Even in countries like America and U.k where the virus wa very bad, most people just get a bi sick and recover from it at home without even knowing it was the virus. You will be alright. It's just the fear of infecting others that makes this virus really bad.
DeleteLast week I treated malaria in the hospital. At a time after taking the drugs my mouth still remain bitter nd my sense of smell disappear. Everything smell d same. Food nd all. Hv been wanting to return back to the hospital but I dnt know if is still malaria becos I hv not experienced it before.🙄🙄
DeleteOh my God....I'm seriously on this table. I cant perceive any single thing again! N I'm having malaria/typhoid symptoms which I'm treating.
DeleteBy these revelations, then there’s an iota of truth in the figures the Govt is putting out there.
DeletePerhaps if all these were also captured, then our numbers are way more than what is being projected.
Maybe the fear factor and the manner the Govt has treated the infected so far has contributed to people self medicating.
Simply put, self medicating people are aware it’s Covid.
Sometime last 2 years, I had catarrh, I sneezed one kind sneeze, that looked like my nose felled off with the sneeze, I noticed that I couldn't perceive anything again for 2months I struggled with myself, my sis was enjoying it and messing anyhow, if I complain of the sound she will tell me atleast u did not perceive it, I was so frustrated that period I was busy struggling to perceive all kinds of smell, I practically became a Rottweiler before i began to get better but it wasn't as it used to be, it takes time before I perceive, but am grateful to God. Bvs Corona is not our portion that shit is scary, if u loose ur ability of using something u use freely without collecting permission u will be grateful to God and value it.
ReplyDelete🤣🤣🤣

DeleteFor 3weeks I couldn't smell or taste anything I took malaria drugs now I am fine no shaking
ReplyDeleteStella, Nigeria no be like obodo Oyibo oh. How do I transport myself with the lockdown in place to abakiliki to get tested from where I am in the east? For me, I treated for malaria and typhoid & 2 weeks after, I dey alright.
ReplyDeleteI did lost my sense of smell and taste last month but it's back! It was terrible, eating good food but can't taste it is not a nice experience or something will be smelling so bad but can't perceive it😏😏😏🙄🙄🙄
ReplyDeleteI *did lose*...not 'did lost'.
DeleteDon't use past tense and present tense together.
Thank God you are healed. 🙏
12:45
DeleteDo you know you can say 'I lost' and no one will die?
Before you correct someone, make sure you come correct.
Stella me I can't smell anything, I don't have fever, I don't have headache, infact I'm a nursing mother, I'm not sick, is just the smell that is the problem.
ReplyDeleteDoes it means so many have coRona but unaware?
Delete@ Mao Akuh yes many have corona but don't know. We all fell sick in our house having the same symptoms. Thank God for protecting our 5 year old niece. All 6 adults had high persistent fever, sore throat difficulty in breathing, shortness of breath, muscles aches, loss of smell and taste. Mine was worst. I had fever for 7 days straight. We all thought it was malaria although we had a few new symptoms unlike our normal malaria and we found it weird that everyone was having the same symptoms. My mom joked about us going to the hospital and getting quarantined for corona virus and we all laughed about it. Never in our wildest dreams did we know that we were already infected (shortness of breath wasn't new to us when sick cos we had such history in our family, although it seldom happens). Our sense of taste and smell did not return for like a month after. Fast forward 3 weeks after the recovery from the illness, my mom had cause to visit our family friend who is a consultant in UPTH and my mom told her of how we all fell ill at the same time with the same symptoms but in varying degrees. The lady told her that we had corona virus. Something like the primary corona virus or so. She said he had all the symptoms of the virus, people that had tested positive had the exact same symptoms with us. I thank God that we had no casualties. We cured ours with strong malaria drugs and strong antibiotics by the way.
DeleteAbout two weeks ago I had symptoms of maaria n typhoid. I took 3 drip n 3 injections.i was getting better but I noticed I couldn't percive anything, from my body cream to deodorant to fuel etc. I had serious catarch, no cough though. I had appointment at the general hospital this June for my family planning clinic, i was scared to go. A pharmacis neighbor gave me emzor product puritin tablets. I took 2 each for 3 day. The dry nose n catarch is gone. I can now smell n percieve things. It was indeed a scare. I am very okay now. I didn't go for any Corona test, I know I don't have it. Alot of cases will be detected this period,it is not the virus. Thank you you Jesus for healing me.
ReplyDeleteSee your mouth like I know I doubt have it.
DeleteDid you get tested?.
A lo t of cases will be detected this period, it's not the virus"
That statement please explain.
You think the testers are your regular touts that dont know what they are doing?.
Abeg, make you dey use sense talk sometimes
12:28 please Suga Nane alone.
DeleteThe test is a broad one and most tests come out positive EVEN when people do not have the virus.
Not every symptom is Covid-19 just like not every symptom of fever or aches and pain indicates positive malaria test.
How about people that do not have sense of smell since they were born? Since I was born I cannot perceive smell.
ReplyDeleteWhattt.
DeletePlease take your hygiene seriously oo.
For real 😲?
DeleteMelancholy
It’s not even a matter of hygiene. My grandma was like me she never perceived small till she died. Because I cannot perceive smell, I take my hygiene very serious I scrub very well. One time a girl farted but because I cannot smell I didn’t know anyone farted she couldn’t bear the smell so she left a guy came in and started abusing me that why will I mess up the whole room like that I was really embarrassed because I didn’t do it. I can be in a place that stinks I wouldn’t know it’s people that will be telling me you no Dey perceive the smell? Comot there now.
DeleteWow
Delete😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteMy sister inlaw didn't have a sense of smell due to terrible sinusitis she had a surgery last year and can now perceive stuff .
DeleteWhich one is new strain of malaria again? Nigerians like to live in self denial,I swear! So right in the middle of a whole wide corona virus pandemic, malaria has suddenly developed a new strain that mimics corona virus symptoms? That right there( loss of smell and taste ) is a classic symptom of corona virus. Please go and get tested asap if you have that symptom so you will know to self- isolate and not infect others around you. Corona virus is not a death sentence, just get treated with the recommended drugs and self-isolate until you feel better. You wi not die ( except you have some other underlying serious health issues like asthma, sickle cell, lung or kidney disease etc which would put you at a higher risk of becoming very sick). Please in this case, ignorance is not bliss oh.
ReplyDeleteDo they test the non influential citizens?Won't they end up dumping the person in an isolation centre.
Delete@anon, are you minding them.
Delete@dietician They test everyone.
My friend got tested and was positive.
She no sabi anybody.
Hi dear, it’s not compulsory that pple who can’t smell or taste must have covid. It happened to me last week and I went and got tested and my result was negative. A friend has same experience and tested and it was negative, plus it was malaria so truly there’s a strain out there causing this and this is rainy season pple are also coming down with malaria so let’s not say covid all d time before pple start dying of high blood pressure Biko
DeleteAt anon 20:21. In medicine, there terms like "false positives and false negatives" You may need to get re-tested. Remember Abia state Governor tested negative initially. I don't mean to scare you please. Just making sure you are properly managed for YOUR own and your family's good.
DeleteSo covid has reduce to only lost of sense of smell?OK tell me the differences between the covid in China and the covid in Nigeria?it is only normal to loose smell if you have flu nothing else.please stop this covid scam please.
DeleteLol... I remember Miss Aboki had this issue. Thank God she is better now.
ReplyDeleteIs covid 19 an air borne disease?..
ReplyDeleteYou guys have forgotten what changing of weather can do..
Common, its rainy season and we will experience flu, sneezing etc...
Support your immune system with a good immune booster and you are good to go!!..
Me I take herbal teas and I cant remember the last time I had flu, malaria or whatever!
Will start taking herbal teas abeg, tired of treating malaria
DeleteTry Lipton, lime and Alabukun.
Delete@dietitician, buy malaria and typhoid root, neem, lemon grass, ginger n garlic, lemon, lime, Lipton, cook and drink. 3times daily, bath with red key soap it is medicinal, chewing bitter kola help with your mouth too.
DeletePls don't boil the herbs for long, like boiling hot n bring up bubbles o, just hot enough,
I pray for God's healing for you.
Melancholy
Which one is herbal tea? Please explain
DeleteMine was about two weeks ago. I felt miserable. My sense of smell and taste is fully back nw.
ReplyDeleteMine was 3 weeks ago. I felt sick. couldn't feel the taste of anything! I had catarrh too. Turned out to be malaria. It lasted 5 days before I got my taste buds back. Was Pretty scary.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever had malaria symptom like that...if no then it was COVID. You recovered well...Thank God for that
DeleteThank you engraced.
DeleteI don't know how people suddenly have short term and selective memory plus living in denial.
Malaria now gives Loss of smell. Okurrrr.
You'll usually test positive for malaria, common, you're in a malaria endemic zone.
Testing positive for malaria doesn't mean you should be sick, you get sick from it when it overwhelms your body.
Same with coronavirus etc.
As a Nigerian, you only test negative to malaria when you treat for malaria and mosquitoes never bite you
12:36 if one has malaria and catarrh that person can experience temporary loss of both senses - smell and taste.
DeleteCovid-19 is not even pandemic in anyway. They keep pushing that narrative through the media because that's what they want the world to believe.
Annual death rate from 'flu supercedes what they' ve recorded as death from Covid-19.
Annual death rate from other causes worldwide is 56m plus. That's official the statistics. How then is Covid-19 a pandemic????
Engraved, I am truly thankful to God. Anon 12:36, you sound vexed. Relax o. Anon 13:03 thank you.
DeleteAnon 13:03 tell that to thousands world over who have lost close one's to COVID-19...😏
DeleteSomeone said it's a Nigerian (African) way of showing symptoms of covid19. That our immune system had battled and defeated malaria/typhoid. So by losing the sense of smell I'd the only thing Corona could find on " Us"🤪🤓
ReplyDeletesigh😔
ReplyDeleteBut cough and catarrh cause loss of smell and taste atimes, especialy when treating malaria
ReplyDeleteYes, you are right @Dietitian Nezz!!!
DeleteI heard people are dying ignorantly of covid19, don't know how true it is.
ReplyDeleteThree weeks ago my husband was having body weakness and headache we suspected to be malaria so we treated malaria,we finished the medication boom we couldn't smell again and cough started too, hmmm we started using antibiotics and durgs for allergies, cough stopped but sense of smell didn't return,I contacted NCDC and they directed us to the testing center nearest to us,we were scheduled to go the next day but my sister who is a doctor advised I do Steam birth for him and also buy Fluticasone spray which I did and like a miracle sense of smell gradually returned.i really don't know what it is but we have fully recovered.
ReplyDeleteWowww thank God you all are OK now.
DeleteSteam *bath*
DeleteFluticasone spray is that Avamys corticosteroid I suggested here. Miracle treatment for intense catarrh
DeleteMine was abt 3weeks ago.l had cough, loss of taste n smell. I took ginger, garlic and l also used aboniki to do hot water therapy and after 4 days l got my taste n smell back and cough gone.
ReplyDeleteHad the same experience about a month ago, with some members of my family but we treated malaria, after two weeks we started regaining our sense of smell and taste
ReplyDeleteMe I have lost sense of taste and appetite. I don't know what to do, even if I force myself to eat, once I put the food ain't my mouth, straight to the rest room. It's not malaria
ReplyDeleteMay God protect us from this disease,a lot of people move about in the market like nothing is happening and rushing bodies together, ignorance is bad.May God help us to get the vassine fast.
ReplyDeleteLoosing sense of smell or loosing sense of taste is a symptom of corona virus.dont panick just eat healthy and isolate yourself,in one or two weeks your immune system will overcome the virus and u will be ok,it has no drug.the only problem is if u have an underlying health challenge
ReplyDeleteIt happened to me last month. I was practically sniffing everything in order to perceive it but I couldn't, even to have a taste of what I was eating. I really felt scared at that time. My brother in law added to my fears by asking if I was sure it was not the virus. I went to the clinic and was treated for typhoid and malaria and within a week I could both taste and smell. It felt like one who just got a visa after many trials. I appreciated the sense of taste and smell after that.
ReplyDeleteIt's Covid 19...but God in his faithfulness for us did not allow it to be more than that symptoms and then we recover.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lord
Mine was last week, sense of smell and taste disappeared,my nose was blocked, body pains and all...I treated malaria and typhoid and I'm feeling better now, sense of taste and smell is back...
ReplyDeleteOh dear, may God restore your sense of smell in Jesus name💕
ReplyDeleteI had same experience 2 weeks ago.lost sense of smell and taste with a terrible sore throat and with headache and body pains.but I took septrin for the sore throat and also I isolated myself from everyone but now I am better
ReplyDeleteThis was me some months ago, I lost my sense of smell and taste... this lasted for about one month, this happened when we went for the first lockdown
ReplyDeleteTo say I was scared is an understatement, I was legit scared for my life.. I had almost all the symptoms of corona except difficulty in breathing...
I got a malaria and typhoid treatment till it vanishes.
It's Covid 19. You all had it and survived it. This is not malaria.
ReplyDeleteI was feeling feverish, I lost my smell and taste and I was coughing. I went to the hospital. They did a blood test but malaria was negative. I was scared. I still went ahead to treat malaria with an antimalaria drug. I became better after about two days. All I kept thinking about during that period was Coronavirus.
ReplyDeleteI think Trump was right about Chloroquine after all...
DeleteI am sure a lot of people have caught COVID-19, but no testing confirmed it.
ReplyDeleteI think the rate should to by 50,000 in Nigeria.
Around Feb I had the most horrible cough and catarrh, I was so sick. I draw nose for almost two months. I believe Corona came since Feb but we started testing March. I treated for Malaria and upper respiratory tract infections. I even had difficulty in breathing. It was a horrible experience. I no know if na Coro but I had like 95% of Coro symptoms. It was horrible.
ReplyDeleteI am shocked at the response so far. But really, could it be Covid19? If only a few go for testing, that means the NCDC data is far from correct. Moreso, how come those that treated themselves at home recovered faster than those at the isolation centres?
ReplyDeleteJust thinking!
I cold not smell but my taste bud is perfect, smell dey come back small small
ReplyDeleteIt means all those NCDC figures should actually be much higher if government is very serious with the testing. Thank God you all recovered. God will perfect your healing in Jesus name. When I go out, you feel like there is no more covid. Government should continue and be serious with sensitising people especially market women, drivers ,conductors and the likes. God will help us all
ReplyDeleteThanks Stella for this post, just in time, been treating malaria n typhoid for over 3weeks now, today makes it exactly one week I lost my sense of smell n taste, feel so fatigued, recovering gradually,I pray to recover fully this week, whatever it is,stay safe guys,God is in control
ReplyDeleteAmazon baroness
I am experiencing the same thing,I treated typhoid and high fever two weeks ago,the taste is coming back gradually but I still can't perceive any smell, infact this morning,my brother was cooking,he left it to attend to someone,I didn't know that it has gotten burnt, but I kept coughing until he ran it,the whole kitchen was filled with black fumes,I am on several vitamins and fruits,I blv I will be fine by God's grace
ReplyDeletePlease isolate yourself and protect others around you. You will be fine. ❤❤❤
DeleteLoss of smell and taste has been the way for about 2weeks now;I need to ask my help to taste food when I am cooking to avoid over spicing, very annoying. The things one does at leisure becomes difficult.I have taken malaria and typhoid medicine but to no avail. It is well
ReplyDeleteMy colleague complained of loss of taste and smell. The next day he started feeling feverish. He contacted NIMR and reeled a covid'19 test request and got an auto response that they contact him soon. The next day he went to a testing canter nearest to him and he was told to go back home that he will be contacted in due course. Two days after having not heard from the officials he went to a private hospital for test based on connection, if was quite expensive over a 100k. Two days later test came out positive and he was given medication by our office physician. He is getting better gradually. Based on the above I suspect most people here may have contracted the virus. So it's not a scam as many thought
ReplyDeleteIt is quite obvious that all reported symptoms of loss of smell and taste are of COVID-19. Just goes to show how far the virus has infected many contrary to published NDCD figures.
ReplyDeleteThank God for His mercies 'cos the blatant disregard for medical advice in this country is worrisome.
I have been saying those numbers but NCDC put out should be higher. This post has proven that. All I can say is God is being merciful to us. The restrictions on schools, events and churches has also helped mitigate the spread
ReplyDeleteThis is so me Stella. I woke up with a tasteless mouth this morning, with headache and eyepain, don't know what it is but I've started warm ginger water. Let me see how it goes then I'll know the next step to take
ReplyDeleteI and my husband just recovered from covid19, This was our recipe ... Dogonyaro leaf
ReplyDeleteGuava leaf
Paw paw leaf
Mango leaf
Lemon grass. Boil it very well and drink 2x a day. You will also steam from it or boil in a separate pot for steaming. It’s very effective
