How time flies....

I still cant believe that i have completed the one year Mandatory NYSC

I remember shouting 'Jesus' plenty times when I saw my call up letter a year ago and 'welcome to Benue' as the letterhead. LoL 🤣.. I immediately decided that i will redeploy but, I changed my mind after camp, and decided to stay. And I can tell you that my stay there was very wonderful. I enjoyed every bit of it.


I thank God for the journey so far, he has shown me that he's ever ready to help his children anytime, anyday. It's left for us to rely and have absolute faith in him.

MADAM TOK TOK DON LAND
MANAGE ME LIKE THAT

My 3 year old niece can talk and disturb a lot and whenever she comes around it becomes difficult to do any anything meaningful. She was talking and scattering everywhere the other day and I was so stressed that I raised my hand to spank her.

 Before i spanked her,i decided to ask her why it was difficult for her to listen to me when I talk to her unlike her brother and she answered “AUNTY MANAGE ME LIKE THAT! 

I was so speechless that my hand dropped..

One thing that makes the world a beautiful place to be in is the beauty in diversity. We have different kinds of food, fruits clothes, houses and our children are also distinct from their peers. 

I also know that it is bad to compare your child with another .....

Although comparison is sometimes essential in order to instigate healthy competition in the child so he can perform at par capabilities and excel, we must the careful not to cross the line. Every child has the ability to do better but their drive should not be based on comparison with another. No two children are same. They have different talents, abilities, reasoning, develop at different rate, may have grown up in different environment. It is therefore impossible for them to behave in the same way. Twins most times behave differently.

Some children would need greater attention and time before they can assimilate, others would understand at the snap of your finger. Some children would be so lazy and dirty, you go ask yourself where you get them from. Others would be the tok tok like me and of course the young engineers that would scatter their toys or the remote control to ascertain why it is making that sound, we would have to manage them like that distinctively. 

As parents we are also managers.

Unhealthy comparison amongst children brings stress on the children, lowers their self esteem and self worth, suppresses their talents and abilities and ultimately fosters siblings rivalry. Instead of comparison we could praise their strengths and encourage them through their weakness.
