ReplyDeleteOver the years, we have allowed tribalism to dictate who occupies Aso Rock. And in spite of our enormous resources we have continued to lag behind less-endowed nations.
You may not like the Igbos, I guess, I understand, I respect that.
You may see the Igbos as greedy, domineering, and money-conscious people, you may be right in your assessment.
But what we can never take away from them is their innate ability to make Nigeria flourish. Yimu, the faces of doubting Thomases would pop up, but thats just the bitter truth.
The generation that believes in a tribe-less Nigeria would argue that emphasis should be placed on merit irrespective of your tribe. They are 100% correct. But this is being exploited by those who have had a shot at the Presidency and yet couldnt transform Nigeria.
We must be seen to be fair and equitable as a nation, else remain ever haunted by retrogression.
As we strive to build a virile and prosperous nation, we can perhaps take inspiration from the Holy Book "On this STONE (Okute) will I build my church (nation), and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it". Amen.

@ anon 15:59, peter and Osinbanjo as vice will not happen. The north would rather vote for a stone. We already know the vice president position is more decorative an with very limited power..infact the most untional VP we have ever had is Osibanjo and look how they have done everything to stifle him..None of these peopl will do well in a Vp role most especially Peter Obi. Forget abt Tinubu and Atiku,they are not even an option. Any one amongst Sanusi, Peter, Osibanjo can be president but none of them should accept a VP position.

Sanusi has seen the good the bad and the evil. He has betrayed for the north and has been betrayed by the North so hopefully as a president he can make decision concerning Nigeria from critical thinking rather than religious and geographic ties. Their campaign speech will decide.

Pls lets be objective, this hatred for the north is too much, or is it the northerners that are governors, chairmen, legislators and councillors for the southern states. Our leaders have failed us all.
