A lot of people are going through depression now. When people constantly have the feeling of sadness, emptiness , loss of interest in favorite activities , appear pessimistic than usual , getting upset easily, having less interest in their appearance, thinking or talking more slowly, insomnia, excessive sleepiness and thoughts of suicide; such persons may be sliding into depression or far into it.
The right thing to do is to help them not judge them, when they are neglected they might contemplate and commit suicide. Anyone can fall into depression, especially with all that is happening in our world. Show love to everyone around. Help the depressed get a therapist and see to it that they are faithful to their scheduled sections with the therapist. The beautiful impact of the words of encouragement and good music cannot be overemphasized. We would have to hold each other’s hand to come out of the times we find ourselves. You never can tell, you might be saving a life.
During the lock down, my bestie and I were always gisting on phone. Whenever she was complaining of how difficult life has become I would just bring up another topic to cover that up. Never knew she was depressed and contemplating suicide until I saw her with poisonous substances. Just because you are alright does not mean others are. Listen to close relatives and friends and find a way to help them out.
When you are depressed, remember the only hopeless person is a dead man. Once there is life, there is always hope. Everyone is going through a challenge or the other, your reaction to the challenge makes the difference.
