ReplyDeleteYou people are saying 2 baba...if you should go outside Nigeria and even Africa now now now and ask them if they know any Nigerian artist, who will they mention? They'll either mention Davido or Wizkid. A couple will mention Burna Boy, but that's it. Maybe if this were the mid 2000s, they would mention TuBaba or DBanj, but not in 2020. Music is cyclical. The biggest today is not be who was the biggest artists 5 years ago. TuBaba and DBanj were pioneers, but honestly, did they reach the heights that Wizkid and Davido have reached today?Did they sell out concerts for 100,000 people? No. Why? Because of technology and social media! Tech and social media have advanced way more than they were in the 2000s. This means that it is easier for Afrobeats to spread around the world, so it was easier for Wizkid, Davido and Burna to reach a worldwide audience.
