Music Director Clarence Peters Reportedly Detained At SCID Over Video Vixen Kodak's Death

Music director and cinematographer Clarence Peters has been called in for questioning and detained by the police in Lagos over the death of video vixen Love Divines alias Kodak.

Kodak was allegedly electrocuted while charging and using her iphone on Wednesday April 29th at Peters’ Omole Phase One residence.

She allegedly operated the plugged phone while sitting almost naked on the door railings with no footwear on.

She reportedly sustained burns on her chest where her phone allegedly fell when she flung it as a result of the shock.

Although initial reports claimed she died on the set of a music video, it was however debunked as the planned video was cancelled after she died.

Peters was invited for questioning at the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba on Saturday night and has been detained since then.

Police spokesman Bala Elkana confirmed the arrest of Clarence Peters, adding that the command was investigating the circumstances that led to the dancer’s death.

Elkana said Peters and all those who were at his residence when the incident occurred have been invited for questioning, and that he would not be able to give further details at the moment.

The only thing I don't Understand is how she flung the phone on her chest...The report says she was sitting down.Did it magnet to her chest?

  1. I do hope a proper and thorough investigation is carried out to truly ascertain the true cause of her death.....i want to believe that an autopsy has also been carried out to back up their investigation, may her soul continue to rest in peace and if her death is more than what we were told then i pray that the culprits are brought to book to face the law

    1. If she was murdered, I pray the culprit is caught and faces the full wrath of the law. However, If it was indeed an electrocution, I pray Clarence's name is cleared.

Having said that, we need to learn to obey simple instructions. Stay at home but some people are still going about their normal business as if they are immune to Covid-19.

I saw a few videos of the deceased, I don't even understand all these dances that are in vogue now. So much aggression and madness in the name of dancing.

They need to also check her system for drug overdose and all. As for Clarence, I do not understand why he is being detained for this long, interrogate him and let him go.If the autopsy proves otherwise, then you arrest him.

May the Lord comfort her family and may her soul rest in peace.

  2. Oh, it was at his place?
May her soul Rest In Peace.
Please let’s all be careful with our phones on our bodies while charging. I do that a lot and I’m stopping now.

  3. It's normal, he's the first suspect. It's only autopsy hat can set him free.
Detaining I'm doesn't mean he killed the girl.

  5. That was why I hmmmmmed when I first heard about her her death at Clarence Peter's home. Nothing like death by electrocution here, she was murdered. I pray they will do autopsy and find out the exact cause of her death. There fabricated stories are not just adding up anymore. I pray justice will be served to whoever is responsible.

    2. I hope you'll draw thi sort of conclusion if the said CP was to be your brother. And I do hope you'll be happy if someone labels you a murderer for a crime you didn't commit. May God forgive us all.

  6. In sane countries, you are called in for questioning and allowed to go and then can be arrested if autopsy report suggests murder.

But in our own dear country, u will be arrested because social media says you are guilty.

    Who does that abeg????

I even read he went to the station willingly by himself. The earlier people start suing the police, the earlier they will start having sense.

The fact that u arrested him without any evidence of foul play, if it does come out that the death was accidental, I hope the guy takes it up with them.

  7. Good question Stella Kork.
The phone can only fall on her laps not chest because she was sitting not lying down.

The investigators know how to get the right answers feom all the invited.

    So sad.
    Goodnight Kodak.

  8. Stella I thought so too. The phone didn't fall on her laps, it jumped to her chest how now?

    1. Her body was allegedly wet from sweat. It could have happened that when the shock started, she slipped while sitting and the phone fell on her chest. Common, use your imagination 🙄🙄

      Delete
    2. The phone could have fallen anywhere depending on the strength of surge current through her body.

You have no way of gauging the force of the body movement in electrocution.

It would be wrong to conclude either way.

Unfortunately, the investigating authorities might not be well-equipped, thorough or professional enough in handling evidence from the accident scene.

      Hopefully, justice will be done.

  9. I'm even trying to understand how she sat comfortably on the door railings charging phone and she flung the phone and it landed on her chest...the phone should have been far from her after flinging it...just wondering

  12. This is very sad. May her soul rest in peace.

Why detain him when they are still investigating the matter and are not sure if he did it or not? I don't understand this.

Police please investigate this with no bias
Let that autopsy not be tainted
Trust Nigerian women to defend their men before a lawyer does a proper defense.
Trust Nigerian women not to wait for the police to do their work before rushing in to defend their man.
    Always too fast

It doesn't matter that their fellow woman is dead and sensible people will keep quiet because they were not at the site of the incident and let the police do their work but a no named hidden girlfriend of 14 years will do police work.

Whether he is innocent or not
Let the police do their work.

    1. And did the police wait for the autopsy to declare it a murder case?isn't the protocol supposed to be followed first. How can you call it murder when there's no proof of that

  15. What is hidden to man is very clear to God. Stella, that question you asked is valid, they should carry out autopsy on the body.

  19. All this could have been avoided this period, but no! Nigerians will never listen to simple instructions, if you people have stay at home according to the state directive the young lady might have been alive, and clearance won't be drag like this, but no! Nigerians will always pass through the back door to do what they are ask not to do.

Rip to the dead, if truly she was killed may the culprit be found and Justice be served.

    1. Bella I'm happy you typed this. Nobody is saying the obvious, what was she doing in Clarence Peters house when the state was on lockdown. How come they were about shooting a video during that period and cancelled when the incident occurred.

We take things for granted in Nigeria a lot. Peters and those present during this horrible event should be made to face the law applied to Funke Akindele first as the investigation is been carried out.

      RIP to the dead.

      Lovelace.

  22. Hmmmm,just hmmmm.
Of course there is every possibility that she was electrocuted same as every possibility that she was murdered.

Let the police do their work but the wicked should know that there can never be rest and peace for them in case it turns out to be a murder case.

Let the police do their work.

  23. "As reported" she sat at the 'door railings operating her phone'.

She is operating her phone while charging, she was shocked by the electricity, she lost balance, threw the phone up and bounced back to her chest because there was stil charging cord connected to the phone and electricity.

So Stella dear, it is very possible that happened...but then, only God knows how it happened.

    2. And where was the charging cord when the throwing up was done?
      How long was this wire?

You will be surprised Clarence didn't kill her and the burns on the chest was beyond 1st degree burns.
      Let us wait.

  27. The state has been shot down for a month, what was she doing in his house knowing fully well that there won't be any recording of music videos etc. I know you lots will claim that she is an adult and she can chose to do what she wishes with her life and death can happen anywhere. Yes she is and yes death can occur anywhere, but to be honest with you all, the narrative would have changed.

  29. I read somewhere, that the deceased wanted to charge her phone, which had a metal back cover and the extension socket she wanted to make use of was also a metal box. Moreover, she just finished rehearsals with her colleagues, which of course she was sweating all over without shoes on. May the truth prevail and God will grant her family members the fortitude to bear the loss.
