Governor Ganduje Appeals To FG To Relax Lockdown In Kano State

Following the rise in COVID-19 cases and the strange deaths in the state, President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered a total lockdown in Kano which took effect on Monday but Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state, has appealed for an urgent ease of the 14-day total lockdown imposed on the state.

The governor said it is important to relax the lockdown for a while in order to ease the hardship in the state, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking on Thursday at the government house where he inaugurated a panel of experts to support the state task force technical committee;he said..

“We would engage the presidential task force on COVID-19 to seek permission to relax the total lockdown imposed on Kano,” he said.

''We are making this appeal on behalf of our people who are presently running out of food items. We would love the federal government to relax the lockdown for a period of time to enable people stock their homes, especially now that majority of us are fasting. It will also ease the economic hardship in the state.”

  4. Kano people, see who you elected into office.. Kano has the third highest number of cases and the governor wants the lockdown to be relaxed. Who are those advising him. The lockdown may not be convenient but it is very necessary at this point. They should bear for a while knowing that it's for their own good.

    1. I love your brain. My naivety and focus on the crisis did not even allow me to think of the possibility that they may be allowing ppl to get sick in the expectations of getting more money because they have more cases. What if this is truly their reasoning? Chilling. It is quite plausible when you see the lack of direction and response, medical personnel expected to work without protection and no push to set up isolation centers or public service announcements provided.

Can someone just sack this Governor and put in a replacement. He lacks critical thinking skills. If he was a woman they would say he got the position by lying on her back, did he get the position from staying on his knees? Were these ppl not poor before the illness, but you didn't do anything to alleviate their poverty. Now disease is running rampant even killing your prominent ppl and you are not talking about anything medical or trying to help them to stay alive, you want to ease restrictions to spread more disease. People need to stop moving about. Find some way of doing food distribution healthily to your poor people. Ask for military assistance if you need it, go setup isolation centers, get PPEs for medical personnel. Setup strict social distancing rules even for men with multiple wives and different family homes. Put in a no moving about except for essentials. Stop trying to kill off innocent people to profit from it. Mtschhw

  36. This man need medical attention abeg... What of we in Abuja that have been in lockdown for the past 4 weeks? Did we die? Just one week of lockdown and Ganduje want to tear boxer enter market... None sense governor...

    ReplyDelete
  37. The presidency needs to take some raw dollars to ganduje to out in his cap for him to understand why this lockdown is necessary. That is the only language he understands. As for those bothers and sisters in Kano who are fasting, try meditating on the words of Mohammed where he said you are given leaders according to the way your heart is. In other words, the people in power are exactly what the followers deserve. Even those of us who are not fasting are doing a lot of thinking on this.
