Please rest, leave people to live their lives how they want. Not everyone is religious or is a Christian either!! You people will just carry other peoples religion on your heads more than the people who introduced it. Don’t people have sti’s and hiv even in marriage? Stop being so judgmental. Even married women have more abortions than the unmarried ones. Allow people to live as far as they are at peace with themselves and are happy! Fact 2 is not for singles. This is why we should flee fornication.
ReplyDelete1. If we can't say No to something (our senses, our appetites, desires for pleasure) what does that make us? It makes us slaves. It ropes us into captivity. But Jesus came to set us free and to exercise that freedom, we have to be able to say NO to sin. To be able to say NO to ourselves is an incredible grace, because that is what it truly means to be free.
2.For worship. Because the heart of all worship is sacrifice. Our freedom to say NO is exercised not only to evil, but sometimes to legitimate pleasures. Eg when we fast, we say NO to food. Fasting is sacrificing a legitimate self pleasure, not for ourselves but for someone else (For love of God). When we fast, we turn that entire day into a day of worship & sacrifice. So when we live in celibacy, we turn our entire body into a living sacrifice, holy & acceptable to God as a true worship. (Romans12:1) And our body is his dwelling place, shouldn't we make him always feel welcome?
3. Obedience. In obedience, we let God, our eternal authority, tell us what to do. It means we accept his guide and his leading. As Jesus says, if you love me, you will keep my commandments. So at the heart of it all, obedience is the proof of our love. In disobedience, we throw our pearls to swine, we exchange a garden for a rotten apple, we give up life, for death. We say, Lord I know what you want, but I don't care, I will do what I want.
4. God provides the grace. In his wisdom, he gave us this command, not to punish us but for our own good. We are not alone, we have the Holy Spirit. Don't think you are powerless, we are God's children. Celibacy is not impossible. Of course the enemy will come with his lies & deceit but there is no lie the enemy tells that is above God's truth. The devil is not more wicked than God is good.
5. Don't think you are powerless. We have the grace, God keeps giving us the grace. We are God's own, heirs of his kingdom. The enemy is terrified about this. All we need is courage, and make the decisions with boldness. Let us become free, and become the person God wants us to be.
