Buhari Asked To Lockdown Abuja Again

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Youth Task Force on COVID-19 has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to lock Abuja again.

It said this followed the number of coronavirus cases and deaths so far recorded.

Ango Suleiman, Chairman of the Task Force, spoke at a news conference on Wednesday.

Suleiman told the federal government not to mind public opinion on the ease of the measures earlier put in place to slow the spread of COVID-19.

“The same people demanding the ease of lockdown may come back to criticize and condemn the action of the government when things go wrong. Therefore, the only option is doing whatever is best for the people”, NAN quoted him as saying.

Suleiman warned that law enforcement agencies were becoming overwhelmed and gradually losing control of the people since the lockdown was lifted.

He cited the massive gathering at banks, checkpoints as well as public disobedience in observing safety measures to buttress his point.

Suleiman insisted that the repercussions of the early lifting of the lockdown around the world were a lesson to learn “as our peculiarity can never be an excuse for our carelessness.”

The spokesperson of the FCT Natives, Inusa Yusuf, urged banks to open all their branches so that people won’t need to clog at the few ones opening.

Yusuf observed that the development had encouraged public gatherings and discouraged social distancing.

Now that the lockdown is on, they should sit back and see the rise in cases as they have used their hands to cause it.

THEY DONT WANT TO SPEND MONEY!
      Yes I'm shouting.

After they hav successfully squandered all the money people n countries hav donated u think they hav d masses in mind?

they know dat if we are on lockdown for a long period of time, they will hav to disburse monies to everyone to manage. Hell dey dnt want to do dat!
Their I'll gotten money is doe themselves n their precious families! Not for the masses.

They dnt want any burden on them!

    3. Why are we always the problem? Hunger, domestic violence,
theft and other crime were on the increase in lock down, yet cases were recorded daily. We felt Government should lift the ban and let individuals take necessary precautionary measures for personal safety as all have learnt from various reliable media platform, yet some people who live in comfortable houses and having huge amount of stored cash are of the opinion that the lock down should be revisited. Na waooo, abeg take personal responsibility and government officials should double or triple THIER effort. Ofcourse cases may rise, treatment responds should rise too

The govt shld jst give everybody that has bvn at least 10k, open market for about three days for everbody to shop and then lock every body in for 2mnt, put soldies or police everywhere infact house to house movement should be prohibited this thing will definitely die down

  16. This life son tired me self. Just don't know why did government treat us like animal coz they realm know wat they are doing so far. Why they must lock us down without palliative? Is better to die with CORONA VIRUS instead for us to die with hunger coz hunger killing slowly. Symptoms of hunger is sickness. Dying gradually. So wat are talking about. Why government can't give us atleast 20k each for just 2month? Pls forward dis so Mr President can know what next step to take coz they can't lock us down with no money. Tanz & God bless Nigeria.
