Tory: So where are you from?
Uriel : I am from London but I live in Nigeria
Tory: (Exclaims) London!!!...
Uriel : But I live in Nige....(slight pause) I live in Lagos,
Tory: What did you say baby?
Uriel : I live in Lagos
Tory : Oh! In Africa, wow!!
Uriel : Yeah I do..
Tory: (continues to exclaim) wow!!!
Uriel : So I'm gonna sing a little bit in my language
Tory : Aiit, okay cool.
Uriel : Is that cool?
Tory : Yeah cool, you ready? Start.
Uriel : Okay cool.
Tory : Go ahead.
Uriel : (sings an Igbo song about praising God at all times)
Some people think she denied her Nigerian root but she if she was born in London then she is from London with Nigerian roots....Simple.
But she didn't lie, she's from London. She has every right to choose any between Nigeria and London cos she's a citizen of both.
ReplyDeleteI wonder oh. Babe has dual citizenship, she can choose which ever she wants. No big deal. Is naija a country to be proud of? They should free her abeg.
DeleteShe was born in the UK but not British. UK no dey give citizenship like USA if your parents are not British or before when you could apply through you grandparents "ancestral Visa" .
DeleteWhich one is "I'm from London, who is from London" What part of London? Only if you want to start claiming what hospital you where born in London in the UK.
It's like saying I'm from Lagos to someone who isn't Nigerian, I'm Nigerian and was born in Lagos. Shikena 😏😏.
If she was British, she will know the difference
But she is from London.
Delete@anon 15.09 please get your facts right... she is both british and Nigerian and she can claim whichever one she wants depending on the situation. If you dont know something for a fact, dont rush to comment your ignorance.
DeleteYou can say you are from London....just like Americans say im from Newyork,LA. They dont claim states or local govt like us....they usually just say where they are born/bred or brought up and Uriel was brought up in London.
DeleteI dont know d big deal here. Is she to say shes from lagos when shes not or say im from Alu LGA in Imo state.
How the guy one relate ???
She was not born in the UK, some thing happened, her mum took both her brother and her to the uk, so she grew up there and recently a got her citizenship.
DeleteAnon 15:09 got the 2nd paragraph spot on. someone cant come New York, Paris, London. You must be citizen of a country, and not the city.
Delete@Anon 15:42, thanks for corroborating what a few have been saying: that she has dual citizenship. As for your last line, take it easy. One would think Anon 15:09 owes you money.
Da epic pen,you lie..I live in the US and if you ask anyone where they are from, they tell you the city they were born and grew up in.Uriel has every right to have said and say she’s from London if that’s where she grew up in.
DeleteYou people will just be saying what you don’t know.Ask an American where he’s from and Hel tell you a city not a state...Baltimore,New York,Chitown,Atl etc.Uriel was right abeg
DeleteAnon 15:09: you are talking in the nonsense
DeleteAnony15:09 u think u know too much but jus exposing how ignorant u are.what u aren't sure of,jus take ur time and do some research instead of coming here to write trash
DeleteDa Epic, thanks a lot. I dont know about America and the English they speak over there but in Britain you wouldn't say to an outsider that ure from London without saying ure British or English. Where in London are you from? East London, South-East, North, West or where, are you from Essex, up North or where in the UK etc 😏
DeleteU people should continue giving yourselves headache.
There is nothing to this.
DeleteShe didn't lie. She was raised in London and lives in Lagos, Nigeria. She sang in Igbo. Good
Was she raised in London? Yes.
Can she say that? Yes.
Does she live in Lagos? Yes.
Did she tell a lie? No.
CASE CLOSED. 🕹️🛑
She’s British and she can say she’s from London. Same way some can say they are New Yorkers meaning they are from NY. Awon ITK!
DeleteDA Epic you dont just get it. People say they are from London,Newyork,LA all the time. Is it a big deal? She did grow up in London, but her origins are in Nigeria. Nigerians take every little thing as one is showing off.
DeleteWhats the big deal if she claims london. Was she brought up there;YES. Does she have dere passport;YES. Even if she got it 5mins ago.

DeleteI was not born or even raised in London but I live here and have a British passport. I am from London depending on the situation. Make nobody vex.
DeleteIf two persons from the same country are conversing, it makes sense to say the City where you come from.
DeleteBut if they are from different countries, wouldnt it be accurate to mention your country first, and then your city.
So what's the "wow" about someone being from London?
ReplyDeleteThese people regard this London as heaven. If someone actually said she is "born again" (i.e. from heaven) will this "wow!" be shouted?
Na
DeleteNobody gives a hoot if you are born again or born before.
In Nigeria, they worship anything abroad.
Will this wow be shouted 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂,you just off me sha.
DeleteAbeg,me too I'm from USA but I live in Abuja,if you know me,you should know where I'm from abeg.🤣🤣😂🎂🎂
I am from Jamaica and live in Afghanistan.
Delete😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So being from London is now a status symbol?
ReplyDeleteLmaooo
Delete😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteYes ooooo!!! London lockdown is very different from naija own. We are just chilling here.
DeleteHer voice is beautiful 😍
ReplyDeleteThe way people let what doesn't add tangible value to their life disturb them in this country. hmmmmmm. Uriel please do you at all time.
ReplyDeleteExactly!...they are always offended by irrelevant things that make no difference to their lives.
DeleteLet people be themselves as long as it doesnt affect you.
Lol, this post is cracking me up. The girl can choose to be from anywhere as long as she isn't lying.
DeleteNigeria and Nigerians with inferiority complex would attack her. I have seen an American born british claim America. Onye onwe ya juru afo has nothing to fear. Nigeria would continue to suffer complex till she gets it right as a nation
ReplyDeleteUriel is the one with the inferiority complex.
DeleteWhy didn't she say, I am a Nigerian but with British citizenship.
Her parents are from Nigeria aren't they?
If she gets involved in a scandal, same oyibo people will call her
Nigerian.
Maybe she was born in Britain but she's not British. Because anyone who is British would know the difference between: I'm from London and I'm from the UK.
DeleteUK doesn't give citizenship like USA if one of your parent isn't British.
What are you on about 14:51.I worked with “Kenyan Indians”, and the girl wld say her parents are from Kenya but she’s from London cos she was born in London. What is the big deal?
DeleteMy husband is American,I am British, my kids were born in London and to them, they are British . We all have Nigerian passports too.
Lol @ I am a Nigerian but with British Citizenship. I have never heard any one sat that though. Those who have dual citizenship claim whichever place they prefer or want.
DeleteAnonymouse 14.55, what is the meaning of i am a nigeria but with British citizenship. Omoooo, what did you just type. Biko keep quiet. You wanted to sound informed but you ended up sounding like a local village wannabe
Deleteconfused person. pick a country please
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha😀😀😀😀
ReplyDeleteI trust Nigerians to drag her. She should have said she is British-Nigerian
Marketing strategies?
ReplyDeleteBefore nko una wey dey complain una except her to say Nigeria? Just like me too, i am from London but i base briefly in Lagos.
ReplyDelete@Nsogbu uwa
DeleteThis "Rondon" no enter your English at all.
except?
Base briefly?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
your name is hilarious 🤣
DeleteNigerians always hating when they wish to be in similar shoes.
ReplyDeleteI would have said the same. I live in Nigeria presently but I’m British Nigerian, born & grew up in London with Nigerian roots.
Wisdom resides in you.
DeleteOut with the name, so that I will properly address you.
That up there should have been Uriel's response.
but this isn't even a big deal
DeleteLol
My nephews and nieces would tell you they're Americans but their parents are Nigerians loool
But people just like to focus on what's not important.
My sisters kids too say they are british o and they are from London. These are kids with better ibo names.
DeleteSee no biggie here.
@15:11 I never said it was a big deal, more like a privilege.
DeleteHowever, those who are reacting this way to what Uriel said, see it as a big deal.
Abeg I no fit for Uriel matter. Nor be today her confusion start. I think she got her British Citizenship last year.
ReplyDeleteShe got it lazy year and so? She lived there till recently. Bitter souls you just look for every opportunity to bring people down. How does her claiming London put money in people's accounts? What she said is a non issue but jobless people are making a big deal unfortunately the backlash una expect no happen from everybody. Jobless fools
DeletePlease allow her claim London o, I no blame her
ReplyDeleteHahaaaaa. But Nigeria has done nothing for her now
ReplyDeleteNa she sabi
ReplyDeleteAh ah she's right now.
ReplyDeleteThat's the one she chose, some folks choose their Nigerian nationality over their birthplace which is British.Their choice.
See eh, one secret in correct HR secret for cool firms, when filling their template, click British, enter your passport number(they will surely verify that)and add for languages Igbo,Hausa,Yoruba or whichever, you explain those during oral interview and parentage.
You get employed fast and is referenced as an expatriate(package and miscellaneous).
Stella Kork no mind them.
XP but let's not even front.. Uriel's choice of nationality depends on who is asking..
DeleteWhen she auditioned for BBN, she was Nigerian.
Now on Quarantine Radio with Tory Lanez, she's from London.
We know how shit works. 😊😊
Okay Mama Love and Behold, what if I'm not British but have passport can I still claim it and put passport no? Hope I won't be cast Sha 😂😂😂😂😂
DeletePerxian then she wasn't a British citizen, she just got her citizenship last year. So she's from London...
DeletePerxian, she got cut off by the new immigrations laws of 1984 having been born after that year,it was no big deal before,it took years to grab the red.
Delete2.In this same country if you say Ajegunle-Lagos born and bred Musician Oritsefemi many will wrinkle their nose but when you say Ituku- Enugu born and bred musician Phyno people go wow wow, when in actual fact Phyno cannot hold a candle to Oritsefemi's stagecraft and Ituku cannot even compete with Ajegunle, forget hyping.
Uriel says she has been through thick and thin, been put down in awkward places and ways least expected, then last year she gets her British citizenship you think she will not flaunt it?Oh common,it offers many fringes, perks in Platinum Card ranges in many discounted firms.
Blacks respect tags,please.
I have relations who are born in Achimota -
Ghana, they work here as ghanaians with their Igbo names, travel the world without delays on nothing, they tell you hooha they are ghanaians from Achimota,go cry if you can,not their business.
Wielding a British passport is a whole lot lot.
Anony...you can,I have 2 siblings who are Spanish, they get renewals for their Nigerian passports but do not use them.
If I see better space inside for instance Main One Cable, I file on their template as British, does't like foreign currrency.
Sorry for the epistle.
Anonymous 15:09, Please get your facts right before you comment. United Kingdom use to give citizenship. I was born in London in the year 1964. I have British and Nigerian nationality. Previously in the United Kingdom, if a child was born there, regardless of the parent's status, the child is classed as British by birth, the law was changed some years ago. So your comment about United Kingdom not been America is wrong to an extent. I got my british nationality by birth.
DeleteIs UK like the US that gives citizenship to anyone born there?
ReplyDeleteWhatever rocks her boat
She was born in the UK but not British. UK no dey give citizenship like USA.
DeleteShe is now British. Do keep up.
DeleteShe is from London.
ReplyDeleteWas she from London when she contested in the Big Brother Nigeria?
ReplyDeleteFood for thought.
Ohooo! *in my granma's voice* 🤣
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.

DeleteAt the time she contested for BBN, she hasn't been granted her citizenship.she has now and it's okay to claim both country or either of them depending on who's asking
DeleteI am asking. Okay, she got dual citizenship now? Wow! Great. Good for her and a big congratulations to her. Thanks for the clarification.
Deletegood for her.
ReplyDeleteShe is from London and Nigeria shikina!
ReplyDeleteWait..o,is that the rapper up there???who "nose" he might fall for her🤣🤣
ReplyDeletePlease when she contested , she hadn’t gotten her citizenship.
ReplyDeleteI think she was granted her British citizenship last year so yeah let her claim London if she wants to. Personally I have italian citizenship and despite the fact that I came to Italy when I was only 5 years old I still consider myself Ghanaian and when people ask me where I'm from I tell them I'm ghanaian without even telling them that I have italian citizenship. I take pride in my roots but to each is own🤷🏾♀️
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteCheck out Actor Jim Iyke born Gabonese,at the check-ins in many countries,Jim will table his Gabon Passport o,sign one or two documents and fiaaaam he's off while you as a Nigerian is delayed for long.
Some don't understand.Just have your kids outside even if it is in Angola,he is 40% guaranteed of many perks.
She is beautiful,it ur choice girl
ReplyDeleteNo matter how any of Una want to see am,Uriel just suffered the inferior complex syndrome, many of us are suffering from it today but we don't know it,from the comments i am reading now on these blog i can see it,hahaha later Na Una go first dey shout "I AM AFRICAN AND I AM PROUD" hahahaha, black and proud hahahahah,i love my skin color Hahahahaha.all of you are jokers.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Exactly what I see in the comments section.
DeleteYou guys...in this Corona time, you are worried about someone else's nationalit. Smh
ReplyDeleteSome of u up there are not current, Uriel received her citizenship last year with receipt & pics ,while it was being presented to her in London. I follow her & she received a huge number of congratulatory msgs on her page that week. Yes , it’s a big deal & she has every right to claim it or Nigeria. I’m happy for her .
ReplyDeleteUriel darling choose London. Nigeria iS a failed country with bunch of illiterates leader who are clueless about leadership. Shit hole
ReplyDeleteWhere did you claimed ?
DeleteYou can't prosper in a country you hate.
I ope you know why things are not working for you ?
It's your mindset.
dual citizenship gives u the right to choose from any of the countries, abeg she didnt lie
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm..she's Sha from somewhere
ReplyDelete
