MADAM TOK TOK IN THE HOUSE



Everyone wants to be loved because hatred makes the environment toxic. The first form of love a child understands is that from a mother. However, when mothers fail in this, the children find it difficulty in showing love or responding to love. 

Some people were raised on survival. I remember one Aunty Grace, we lived on the same street, one reason everyone was talking about her was the way she   beat her only son, Emmanuel. 

She is divorced and she claimed her ex husband inflicted pain on her, she could not beat the ex husband then but she vividly transferred double of her pains to the son. 

You find a lot of good looking people damaged on the inside because of their childhood experiences. You would not realize how damaged they are until you try to love them.

Sibling rivalry is very real. Teaching your children to love their brothers and sisters would bring you peace beyond understanding. You have a big responsibility and influence in other to achieve these. If you love others your children would follow your example, where you demonstrate negative character of name calling, fighting and malice, your little ones would also follow your example.

Loving our children equally breeds love between them and prevents jealousy. While growing up, my mum made it compulsory for us to do everything together. We were two girls and I was the younger one but I got married first. People told her all manner of things, encouraging her to distant from me as I would disrespect her. Some people came to me and told me to be careful and not mingle with single people like my sister that it’s not good for my marriage. Well we are still best friends as ever we did not allow what we were told erase what mum taught us.

Teach children to share toys, food and most importantly gifts during birthdays or Christmas celebration. Children believe what is theirs is truly theirs either toys or snacks but we must teach them that persons are greater than things and they must learn to put people first. Most importantly tell them you love them constantly and repeatedly, it may not be the African norm but it is the best thing to do.





Some Mothers use their kids as punching bags after they quarrel with their husbands......
