Minister Of Health Ehanire Says FG Did Not Invite Chiese Docs To Nigeria..

Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, has said the Federal Government did not invite the Chinese doctors who came into the country last Wednesday to help with the fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Ehanire made the clarification during an appearance on Channels TV’s News at 10 on Saturday.

“I think in the first place we didn’t bring them in, and I think China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) in its wisdom and probably in its corporate social responsibility thought they should bring people in to come and help us and give advice,” Ehanire said.

“We didn’t issue an invitation, but we are not unhappy that they are here because we can learn from their experience.

“These people have been through it, and we want to start with a video conferencing with them even while they are isolated so that we can try to learn from their experiences.

“There is nothing better than learning from someone who has actually suffered an event and been inflicted with an injury.”

15-man COVID-19 medical team was invited to assist Nigeria in efforts to contain the pandemic.

  1. Firstly, you said didn't invite them. How then did they get clearance to land here? Oh, the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation brought them in. Who approved? Was it done without your knowledge?
What about the items they brought in?
Now, you're claiming you want to start video conferencing them to learn from their experience.
Couldn't that have been done when they were in China?

    2. Who granted them visa? Abi the border is now so porous that anyone can land a plane in an airport and enter with pomp and panache as you welcomed them? Or are you saying that we are so indebted to China that we have no say again over what they decide to do in our land?
Mr Minister, we are not that daft!

    3. Is this not the honorable minister that said he is not aware that health workers are not being paid harzard allowance because it is the standard work they do daily that they are doing for covid-19 patients. Which is checking of temperatures. I dont even know if he is confused or if this is the real him showing out. This is Nigeria

  3. Nigeria is truly a joke for a country. They didn't invite them is that suppose to be a joke or what? Why are these people always giving credence to the assertion we hold in our hearts that the country is a failed one?

Going by this, I doubt if the Nigerian state will ever get better.

    1. Nigeria is not a failed country. You are the failed one here. Stop this emotional politics you and your folks always play. Google CSR even if you have never worked in a corporate setting, because I am sure you no get work or woman you are trying to impress, if you do, you won't be here wailing night and day

    1. Chineses have shady mindset, they always wants to contribute back to their economy even from other country, they don't want to donate millions like our people did rather they brought the manpower(which shd be thought to our politicians), indirectly the financial effects will be positive on their economy.

  10. Nigeria is on lockdown and a foreign institution (chinese) was able to bring some chinese people in. How? Who gave the clearance? And you are saying you "think"? So in event of a war we can't even trust our leaders or armed forces to have the best intelligence and use that to protect us? Who is really in charge of this country biko?

  11. This same vile man was at the Airport to welcome people invited by private company. The thing I hate about this govt is their inability to take responsibility for their actions. They have handed over the country to China because if excessive settlement. May they not escape the judgement of God

  12. In the olden days, when a People need to know of find out the truth about acting, they sought the Elders. But now and in . Nigeria, the reverse is the case. The elderly (in politics) no longer have truth in their mouths.
They lie do unashamedly that you begin to wonder if they should truly be accorded the respect like in the days of old.
Shame just leave dem dey catch me🤦🤦

  13. They said they didn’t invite neither did they reject the invite which means the company afford to help out and they accepted the offer. You can then start deliberating why they accepted

  14. So who issued them visas at this critical time???

Don't other countries need visa/permit to enter and stay in Nigeria?

What power does the CCECC have to bring such help to Nigeria knowing the corona virus is a 'chinese virus' and they were being accused of sabotage globally

  17. Media hasn't played a good role this period of the pandemic. An international company decided to help us by sending medical materials and personnel to us. They have been there, they fought the virus and they are winning the war already. Nigeria government played their part by isolating them for 14 days (which they are still undergoing). What else do you want the FG to do? Why can't we be objective for once?? Don't we know the meaning of CSR??
FYI, even the great UK is hit hard by this pandemic, they have 10,500 death but just almost 2,000 recoveries.
    We all need ourselves now!

  18. But I don't see any issue here,Ccecc invited over as a way to help Nigeria combat Covid-19 and they are here on an advisory visit. Besides is the same way Gtb and co are helping.to people complaining about video conferencing, would you rather have them mingle with Nigerians without isolating themselves? The likes of Usa are getting donations of ventilators, chinese doctors have been to some African countries but we no hear noise. quick question to those who don't want the Chinese doctors,What are y'all scared of about their visit to Nigeria?
