    3. I have been with someone that really do not know how to love someone. He does not have feelings for anything. He was going for therapy thou. I left him later and move on.

    4. You all allow the west to define everything for you. They defined what success is to you, they defined who God is to you, they define what marriage means and redefined it, and you all accept it. It is a shame. Then you start to ask yourself why they have disregard for you all. Shame!!

    5. Anon 17:57 I think like that too, so I'm very pro Nigerian...but when you talk about romance don't talk until you've dated a white boy that really likes you, not the one that just wants to smash o. After come back and re write your comment. Dude literally tried learning how to speak my language with zero motivation from me. My pet name is very Nigerian and I didn't tell him anything. Maybe I just never met the right Nigerian or black for that matter...and no he's not fat or ugly.

    10. Nigerian men are only romantic when they date foreigners. I have friends here that keep asking me to introduce them to my Nigerian brothers. One met a nice Nigerian guy(according to her), and I won’t hear the end of it. I have never met a romantic Nigerian guy, but I don’t agree with Alex though, because she is generalizing. It’s unfair when people generalize because there is always a 1% that’s different.

    11. anon 20:52 true. she gives off very pick-me and masculine vibes, in order to get a masculine man to cherish you, you have to be in your feminine at all times and envelope him in it

      Delete
    12. anon 17:57 women of every culture are wired to like romance. nothing like western influence there. Don't let frustration and bitterness cloud your judgement. men of these days just don't want to be men unless they are fuqin or cheating and that is sad. being a man is more than just fuqn. sex has become so easy to get that men have become so lazy denying their responsibilities. Unlike our forefathers that defended the honor of the women they loved, cherised her, respected her, gave her material gifts to win her over, took over finances as the man of the house. You NAIJA MEN have allowed feminist agenda to emasculate you and you can't do anything to change it because you are lazy and you have a lot to gain from a woman paying your bills, offering you sex, and role reversal that has turned you soft and feminine, It's pathetic!

  3. At least them still dey send 'tfare' for you to come over..

What of you ladies that would read all the romance novels, watch titanic and all the romantic series showing on zee world and Telemundo.. only for a guy to approach you and your start trying to hustle him.. only God knows where you girls learn that from..

I put it to you that Nigerian men are the most romantic in the world, you ladies have made it clear in different ways that the only lov language you understand is money.. and we are all trying to speak to you in the only language you understand. Stop being confused.

I'm not supposed to be typing this reply tho.. I dey fall my hand by joining issues with this small girl..

    Stay safe fam. Bless

    1. You are correct. I would have argued this money matter in my ignorant days but now?

I think it's the economic condition as well as patriarchy.
Truth is that a young girl who is sent on an errand is most likely being offered money and material things by men of means old enough to be her dad or great grand dad.

I have seen this koro koro and i am not referring to the skay queen, tokunbo boobs and ass deliberateky wearing very tight/ see through clothes, i am referring to that teenager, slim, tender with an innocent, baby face and cute.

It is very difficult to reject these things in these hard times and if she is on any social media where peer pressure comes in, hmmmm.

So you are right in a way.
Women resisting money/material things and gestures is as difficult as men resisting free sex, sexual related events.

    3. anon 6:17 you vex oh. lmao but you have a point. nigerian men = low effort. the easier the girl is to please and get into bed the better for them. But sexual repression of naija society and the natural instinct as men to want a challenging girl makes them dump the easy girls.

kmt. I get bored easily so I really could not. I personally have stopped dealing with naija men because after I broke up with one for the same low effort nonsense my eyes cleared and I increased my standards. Can u imagine most naija men don't meet up??!! So we have been overhyping these guys all along smh. I say if you want all that romance, date foreign or at least a naija man that has spent a lot of his time abroad. Stop wasting your time on the local ones until they receive sense

  8. Lmao..if he doesn’t do it,you can.Initiate those things. The reason women complain about men not being romantic is coz they don’t want to spend their own money in initiating those romantic trips and events. Why are you in a relationship if you can’t complement each other? Most of the nice places Iv been to were introduced to me by my akata gf though I spend a larger part of the money but I don’t regret it coz I enjoy them too.

    1. 16:48.

You OBVIOUSLY have no IDEA what romance is all about.

Its not about going to MR Biggs and eaten half raw chicken or going to 'events and places'

      Many romantic gestures are FREE.

I remember when my fiance got 3 of his friends to sing one of my favourite Boys 2 Men songs with him.

There I was just melting like candlewax.

So very thoughtful, and the time and effort to do this was so appreciated.

And these are not small boys late w0s men and above 30s mature men.
It takes an above average mind to be romantic and know how to articulate those romantic thoughts.

You can settle on being the average joe or go educate yourself and hopefully be the better for it.

    2. and after spending akata money you will run and marry naija babe. so what benefit is in it for her. oh maybe just some low effort knacks and the honor of being around an AfricaN KANG(king) in my akata voice. lmao! Abegi make we hear word.

real men spend money on women that they feel are worth it. if u aint spending either 1. you're a feminine man looking to be taken care of financially by a woman (eww) or 2. you feel she's not worth it. Shikena

  11. We are very romantic but the problem is most of us are broke and you not helping matters either. Oyinbo Outing dates could be just a cup of coffe, tea and all which for me is easily affordable but here, cinema date you must include Sharwama, Pizza and your friends at home are expecting you to bring something home. Dates not shopping. Oyinbo wouldn't mind to share or pay the bills too but here all bills Man.. Kuti's Opinion

    4. anon 6:30 God bless you. You are what you attract, a lot of these naija men just like bitching online about girls when in reality the kind of girls they meet are a mirror version of themselves in female form. these men do not want to do the work on themselves to attract a high level type of woman, but they are online ranting all day as if that will bring them closer to their goals/change their situation. If u are not hungry, you cannot attract hungry babes. if you are an alpha male on top of his game or on his way there, the women that will even be attracting you won't be all these cheap hungry IG models twerking and showing breast for the gram. You won't even be stressing about buying things for that woman, you will naturally WANT to do so as a man for her because she inspires you to do so even if she doesn't need it. But I guess ranting online and fighting women online is easier than self work

  12. Some actually do movie night but nne forget about flowers, star gazing and dancing in the rain. I've received flowers once in my life and it was not in Nigeria. But I agree that the sex obsession is quite a lot, even among the supposedly 'born agains.' I haven't met a Nigerian man who believes in abstaining from premarital sex and that's really sad. Let us present our bodies as holy and living sacrifices.. sins of the flesh hurts God the most and harms our souls gravely..

    1. There are still some very romantic guys here
I once dated someone that used to order me cupcakes,
Buy me roses and chocolates . Well I guess we both made it work , when I first met him he wasn't like that his form of being romantic was giving you money lol , but I thought him how the little things were all that mattered,
I started by leaving notes in his car and etc eventually he learned and it was beautiful 😍.

    ReplyDelete
  15. She might be correct but guys need to up their game. She too has a fault in all of these. Sometimes when a lady is in a relationship with someone she doesn't Love, she will come up with so many excuses. you say Nigerian men are not romantic but we still pay for the food and drinks when we take you on a date that even an average man who is not Nigerian can hardly do. The language an average Nigerian lady understand is money. With money you are romantic

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. anon 17:29 money is just a small part of romance. it is important, but still small. Romance is about the time and effort you put into setting up things that make her happy. Study her likes and passion then use them to surprise her.

Na wa o. aww you have no clue do you??. eya. It looks like it is Nigerian men that we should be writing advice column for and not women . All this time they have been advising naija women on how to keep a man when infact reverse needs to be the case

  20. Romance and some Nigerian men don't go hand in hand
But they are good in other areas

    Their lines are
    Is there light?
    What are you doing?
    Have you eaten?
    What did you eat?

That's all and they will beat their chest that they are caring.
    Looooooooong hiss

    1. Thank you! I met one at a games night. we got to chatting and he says is a stay at home kinda guy. his hobbies are reading and watching netflix and chill. i asked what other hobbies he has, he said he doesn't go out. yet I met him at a very popular lounge for game night o. he then asked my hobbies I made sure to mention only outdoorsy type things - dancing, traveling, learning new language. Oga did not respond again, Mo ya block weyrey danu! LMAO. If you set ur standards high, most (not all) Naija boys don't meet up. all they want is to use minimum effort on a girl and get her into bed the fastest. That is why they are always online ranting about girls spending their money or playing hard to get just to end up in Shiloh or whatever insults their uncreative brains can spit out.

If you know the game and are sharp you avoid wasting your time on them and avoid having to send in chronicles to Joro or SDK later. And is not even by force to marry/date Nigerian. Stop limiting your options by sticking to one race, tribe or country. Your GOD ordained man may not even be black and you're there waiting for one yoruba demon to act right
