A High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has sentenced 21 year old, Isa Abdulkareem to death by hanging on a two count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery.
Justice Abodunde added that the prosecution counsel was able to “prove every element of robbery with veracious evidence that has probative values”.
The judge added, “I find the defendant guilty and convicted accordingly.
“He is sentenced to death by hanging and may the Lord have mercy on his soul”.
The prosecutor, Mr. Gbemiga Adaramola said the robbery took place at Oke-Ureje, along Igirigiri Road, Ado Ekiti.
Adaramola said the convict was arrested by community members during a combined vigilante patrol exercise before he was handed over to the police for investigation and prosecution.
The convict was said to have robbed one Adeya Olalekan of N74,000, and an Infinix Note 2 phone, among others
He also robbed one Olomola Taiwo of N110,000 and two Tecno Y6 phones.
During interrogation, the convict confessed to committing the offence, and took security agents to their hideout where they recovered and kept their arms and ammunition.

He is to die by hanging?isnt this a little too harsh?I even wonder why they are stalling with Evans the alleged kidnappers's case...na wah
Oh dear Lord!
ReplyDeleteThe insecurity in Nigeria calls for serious action. I read on instagram yesterday how one young fine student was robbed and machetted on the head in ibadan. he could have died.
DeleteJust last week on EKO bridge, a young man was robbed and pushed over the bridge to his death.
i mean, how do you do this? Is man so without conscience? You dispossess a man and still kill him?
I have no pity for robbers, whether small or big robbers. No judgement is too harsh. If you can carry the arms, with intent to hurt, you can as well meet your creator.
The same measure with which you dealt with others is what shall be measured to you. Though it may tarry, surely it will come.
That judge took it personal.. what nonsense. Hanging ke those stealing billions are freed. Msheewww
ReplyDeleteArmed robber sympathizer spotted.
DeleteHmmm... May God have mercy on his soul
ReplyDeleteWhat kinda harsh decision is this?
ReplyDeleteWhat a country we live in?😩
ReplyDeleteThe law of Nigeria says armed robbery is punishable by death. Robbery with knife, machete also is punishable by death. If he robbed without weapons, no death penalty for him.
ReplyDeleteIn Evans case, some states did not have laws against kidnapping prior. It's after he was arrested that some states started enacting laws against kidnapping.
How can you sentence a person to die by hanging because they stole valuables that is not up to 500,000...This is gross misuse of power, Infact the judge is crazy...like I am so passes right now.
ReplyDeleteLEP😛
Do you know how many people he must have Killed
DeleteIf you have ever been robbed at gunpoint, you wouldn't be asking this silly question.
DeleteDo you know how many people e has killed while trying to rob them off their valuables ?
I hope you don't pray to see gun pointed at your head by armed robber.
They are not charging him with murders nahhh, the judgment is too harsh biko.
DeleteIf u want to steal...steal big and from the government coffers( that's what the judge is advocating for).
ReplyDeleteBut the big men armed robbers roam about freely...issorait.
ReplyDeleteSo because the big men are roaming it means these ones should be set free abi? Issorait
DeleteAnon it means they all deserve the same punishment.
DeleteGood they kill him. I have no pity for thieves .
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't been robbed before you won't understand.
Don't mind them, if they experience armed robbery once their brain go reset.
DeleteNo, the sentence wasn't harsh. This is someone who uses guns as in he's armed and may have killed innocent people in the past. If you live by the sword, you'll die by the sword. My sister was robbed at gun point last month of her phone (ordinary phone abi) BUT it was a harrowing experience for her. She was asked to strip, dropped off and told to run into the bush (in the dark) she was groped but wasn't raped (thank God). You think that if they are sentenced to death tomorrow I will feel a thing? Abeg!
ReplyDeleteThank you. You can imagine ll these criminal apologost barking like a rabid dog because of armed robber.
DeleteAnd polithieves that stole the nation to stupor are getting away with no penalty.
ReplyDeleteDo they you let an armed robber walk away ?
DeleteYou're all criminal sympathizers.
I hope and pray you all experience being robbed at gunpoint soon..
Anybody who thinks the judgement is too harsh has never been robbed at gunpoint or knife point before. Do you know of the people he may have killed? Is it because it wasn't mentioned?
ReplyDeleteWhat about the women he may attacked? Robbers don't just rob and/or kill women. They rape them. The whole gang rapes them. Do you understand the trauma these women go through IF they survive?
Sorry, but i have no pity for them. The only person who has the ultimate right to change his judgement is God.
Big and small robbring are bad, but the same sentence should be given to people like Evans is the prison out there.
ReplyDeleteImmediately I saw d headline , I said he must have killed his victims, but that’s not d case here. If he repents in d prison, God might favor him for a prison term instead of death penalty.
ReplyDeleteOh well.... I wish he never attacked any one.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to know those that are stalling Evans case, that's his lawyers.
ReplyDeleteThey know he's going to jail but prolonging the matter, making money from Court appearance.
It may take time but he's going to get life or death penalty, that's sure..
And to those shouting, when you experience being robbed at gunpoint, putting gun on your head at point blank, your stori and narrative will change then.
@ Don is making so much sense today
ReplyDeletewhat sense is the fool making? goat, chauvinistic pig. na u dem go hang next. ass wipe
