A TERRIFYING MOMENT....PART 2


Exam started that very morning between the hours of 11am. It was the first paper for the day and a day to the final exams. I can't wait for it to be over. At 1pm, we were done with the first paper. The next paper comes up by 3pm. While we wait for the next paper to commence, I took a walk around the school premises to get water to drink. On getting back to the hall, I noticed two strange faces seated on the same sit I left few minutes ago.


I greeted and said to the one directly on my spot that where he's seated is my position. He only looked at me but kept mute. After some seconds, the other guy with him looked at me and asked, "Are you in this department?" I answered yes. He asked again about my names which I gave him my own names. When he asked for my Matric number I declined and asked "Why all these questions?" Now the guy sitting on my spot who has been silent all along gave me a gaze with an unfriendly smile.


While this was ongoing, two friends of the guy I am covering who are also writing the same exam and had sat together with me all through the inception of the exam were away but soon walked in. I explained to them and when they confronted the guys, they left without saying a word but I noticed an axe like object in one of the guys as they stood up to leave. They were on a mission and a very bad one.


Shortly after the exam that evening, we heard a gun shots. Everyone started running not knowing where it's coming from. I took cover as well and hid at the back of a spoilt parked car. Yes!!! I saw it clearly, two among the guys that came numbering over five were the same guys that had interrogated me earlier inside the hall. The one I said that gave me an unfriendly smile was holding a short gun and had led them coming towards our hall.


Literally, I died that minute. Who could they be looking for? Could it be the two guys that sat with me that confronted them earlier in the afternoon? Or could it be me? I managed to go underneath the car and was watching. They left in disappointment. When we started coming out from our hideout after they have gone, we noticed one of the school security guard who tried to stop them from entering the campus was gunned down 


The next day should have being the finals but was postponed due to the incident. I never sat for the last paper again. Few years later when I visited Enugu, I heard the guy I sat exam for was later killed. The price they usually pay in the system.

You are lucky you didnt pay with your life for it...how much were you paid to take this risk?I wont believe its for free oooh...
