  1. Similar problem here in the UK. They don't have booklets. I had to buy an ETA to Nigeria because there was no booklet for my new passport.

    2. The UK one is also a mess. About 4 or 5years ago I finally decided to get my children a Nigerian passport, the embassy forced all Nigerians at the High Commission to pay for 64 pages of Nigerian Passport saying they cannot issue the 32pages. Why force people to pay for 64 pages for a passport that will be invalid after 5yrs🤷🏾‍♀️, how many times will we travel to Nigeria in 5years that we have to pay for 64 page passport.
Anyway people had to pay for the 64 pages, when it was time for us to collect our passports, trust Nigeria High Commission, we were not disappointed, they gave us 32 pages without refunding our money.
You can imagine how much these people made from innocent people who came to get passport that you can't flaunt with pride 🥴😏.
Since then I decided never to get Nigerian Passport for any member of my family again, il rather apply for visa and pay for quick service.
The stress you go through at the High Commission is crazy, you will get there early 7am, queue outside in the cold and while ure anxiously waiting for your nos to be called, you will see some Hausas stroll in at 12pm and they go upstairs and get everything done. After all these process, you will still get to Nigeria and queue for immigration to check you out but people with other passports or Nationals are checked quickly.
Who has time for Nonsense, I decided never to travel to Nigeria with Nigerian Passport again, I don't even own one anymore has its really annoying.
Long epistle, I'm just really upset because I was robbed and with how our leaders treat us.

    3. Lemme go Anonymous I never get another job, even we officers are tired, no booklets, when they send they give us 200, 500 meanwhile we have over 3000 entries for each month (depending on the command), get they keep lying to citizens that we are the ones not working and hiking price, this country na scam, a lot for things going on inside and one cant write here, pray for this country or leave shikenah

    4. Anon 20:21 I don’t not belief you if you say the government are not releasing the paper fine then why hike the price and make it the highest bidder. Then the new passport is available is the old one that is scarce I was at some passport office in southwest and you need to hear the prices being called 55-40k while 26 is only what is recorded. Am not disputing the fact that government might have a hand in it but that outrageous

    5. I work there in the main office, you won't understand the politics they are playing, they don't want Nigerians to travel out of the country, they don't give booklets yet they keep lying to the public, some commands still have October files untreated cos of booklets, applicants who need their passports urgently will pay any price to get it out, who doesn't want money, even with the extra you still beg to get the passports produced. Of you are not in don't say what you don't know.

The amount placed on the website doesn't include office charges, add office charges to what's on ground for the officer running around isn't up to 4k, what is the complaint about? Biko hold your government liable not the officers assisting you

    6. The new ones produced in the country is only available in Lagos and abuja, in Lagos you won't get it until after 3weeks to a month, in Abuja you won't get it until 7 days, meanwhile during goodluck's time, you get it done in a day.

    1. I miraculously got my passport the same day in this Ottawa High Commission. A couple of weeks later, a friend went and there were no booklets 😂

  5. The one in London has to be the worst in the world! While I was there, they claimed to have no booklets for the passports after keeping us waiting for over 2 hours and despite many of us paying for a fast track service. The waiting room was filthy and damp, two children vomited all over the floor, another child cut himself and someone forgot their phone in the loo. It was like a bad, bad soap opera.

    1. You conveniently didn't blame the parents that let their kids vomit on the floor. People need to start taking responsibility.

    2. Anon 15:21 do you have kids? Do you know how old the kids were? Even at that, aren't they meant to have a cleaner? Abeg shift

    3. Forget the responsibility thing, the smell and dirty environment will make kids vomit. The toilet is an eyesore.
Have you been to Northumberland Av recently Anonymous 15:21?
Anonymous 14:03, the first time I took my children to that place was the last time, the second time we were to go my son obviously didn't want to go, so we went to their visa office and applied for visa and it was fast track, the fast track sef na war. All na same.
In as much as I would love to go often to Nigeria, Nigeria High Commission wahala dey fear me, to register online na wah, you have to go to a post office first to buy then start the process online which isn't even straight forward, interview date that you can't even pick or change, you will get there queue outside in the cold like immigrants in your own High Commission, when you finally get inside: the war begins 🥴.
      Nigeria na scam aswear

  13. it took me about two hours to renew my passport at Nigeria embassy in Ottawa last September.
I got to the embassy after 9am from Vancouver and left before 12, with a new passport.

  14. Renewed the passports for my family (5) without any hitch within 2 hours at that same Ottawa office last September.
Service was great and the ambiance welcoming.

How sad that they have regressed this bad since then.

  15. It's like I'm the only one that has had a decent experience in the UK high commission. Followed all the processes (which i agree could be better) and got my passport when due.

  16. I'm surprised about all these complaints about Nigerian House in the UK. I think services have improved compared to 5 years ago, even though it could be better.
I was there in August 2019 for renewal and change of data. The renewal was ok though some hitches, the queue was well managed because only people with appointment were attended to ,which was booked online 2 months prior.
The data change was hell, in fact we had to bribe N80k in Abuja(he billed 150k) in order to follow it up, apparently name change can only be effected in Abuja.Just glad I have no business there until 5 years again.
Even though the high commissioner is yoruba, most of the staff are hausa and they are rude but I gave them my piece of mind when they stepped out of line
