What I want to say will not go down well with a lot of people but it sure needs to be discussed and addressed.

We actually live in the capital of where we are and there are not a lot of Africans there. The place is neat and really cool. I was thinking that's probably how the whole country is.
Then over the weekend, something carried us to another part of the state, not too far from where we reside.
On getting to the train station, the first thing that greeted me was this strong smell of urine. You would know that a whole lot of people just urinate anyhow there.
This particular area is a black dominated area, the ratio of blacks to white here may be as high as 70 to 30.
That aside, coming out of the train station, you'd see a lot of black people just lurking around and staring at u as u walked pass them. Honestly, I won't lie, I didn't feel safe at all. It just didn't seem like a place I would like to be at night.
Then the dirt all over nko???? I mean, we get that back in our countries, we probably throw trash anywhere mostly because there are not trash bins everywhere where we can dispose trash, then u come here where they have provided places for u and still decide that its okay to just litter everywhere????
I don't just understand.
Discussed it with my mother in law that stays in the UK and she says it's the same over there, that black dominated areas are not places a decent person would like to be as they do all of these things I mentioned and more.
It's not fair na. Do they want people to just keep associating us with anything bad?
Even yesterday, when I was at the bus stop waiting for a bus, one black woman just spat out one thick kelebe and shot it away from where she sat. It was so disgusting and I really pity whoever will step on it.
We really need to do better.

The house owners would gladly rent out apartments to south Africans, Zimbabweans and the likes but don't you dare mention you are from Nigeria else you won't like their responses. At some point I had to lie I was from Ethiopia when semester was drawing close and I had not gotten a flat.
They all had bad experiences to share of how Nigerians turn their once beautiful houses to a dumping site. One was nice enough to show me her apartment and to say it stank was an understatement. Well, courtesy of the former tenants whom were Nigerians. They still had their bottles of champagne all over the floor,dirty towels everywhere. Though they recently moved however they lacked the decency to put everything in order like it were before they arrived.
