A Family inlaw came to Lagos From a country that had the Virus,this was before it got 2 Lagos.
ReplyDeleteDays later she started running fever,i jokingly ,seriously asked her if she has the Virus,she said NO. We treated her for Cold and she got better And she has been in my House for almost 32days
On Wednesday when Lagos state announced there is now 8 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus.
She got agitated and said she wanted to return back to her State the next day ,this is someone that said she is staying for 3months.
When i pressured her,she told me when she was returning from" The Abroad" she sat beside a Chinese man that had Strong Cough and kept spitting into a Nylon bag.
And that when she was ill,she was counting how many days she had come in contact with the Chinese Man.
I imagined the Horror of What If!!!!! I am a Mother of 4,my last baby just recovered from Typhoid and her immune system was already Low.
She should have told me when she was ill,
It is this SECRECY that will spread the Virus. People claiming "FEAR" will knowingly putting others in Harm's way.
I am preparing to go and Drop her right now,Let her carry her " Aunty i was scared" back home.
My Gross with her is She would have Knowingly put I,My Family,my siblings,my 4 children's school pupils and Management,the people we Met during days we went out,Market and Super Market people all at Risk unto I was Scared😭😭😭😭😭😭

It’s like a long hall that they put beds on both sides with the windows open. They don’t even need ACs there. Put good mosquito nets and open up the windows with ceiling fans

ReplyDeleteAn innocent elderly woman died in Enugu due to negligence even when she tested negative to the virus. So a part of me can't blame the guy for his reaction. He/she likely wants to be where he would be taken care of. However, considering the nature of the disease, the best option is to self quarantine until the virus is out of his system. A trusted family or friend may deposit food and toiletries at his balcony while he remains there.
ReplyDeleteThose who die of COVID-19 are mostly elderly people and those with chronic illness like Cancer and Tuberculosis. The recovery rate from the disease is way higher than the fatality rate but the news only emphasizes on the fatalities.
On the other hand, the friend is a wicked person for leaking this to the media. Is it not better to inform the authorities rather than leak this chat and making his/her friend a subject for gossip?
