    1. vaccine is for prevention not Cure. You cant test its effect with people that already have the virus.
      Staggering price indeed

    2. They can't test on people who are already infected just like that. Clinical trials go beyond just administering the test samples, there are stringent criteria that the test patients must meet. Moreover, the persons must give their INFORMED CONSENT.

  23. Which kain play be this maka ego.let them experiment on the people who are already affected with the virus

  24. Ok. To answer the question most of you have - different experiments have different purposes (i.e., research questions). If they want to study the disease trajectory.. What exactly does coronavirus do the moment it enters the body..How does it replicate and so on, then it makes sense to inject the virus into living uninfected persons in a controlled environment. If they want to test the efficacy of a vaccine as well, they will need uninfected persons because people who have the disease already cannot be vaccinated. After vaccinating them, then they may inject the live virus into them to test the effectiveness of the vaccine. All the vaccines you took in your life, did you have the disease you were being vaccinated against? No.

On the other hand, if they want to test a cure, they will need already infected persons to test the efficacy of the cure. But note that before any drug is released in the market, it must undergo several stages of clinical trials, including testing in healthy volunteers, before sick volunteers. All the drugs you know went through the same process before approval. This is nothing new. Shout out to the selfless scientists and noble volunteers who make such sacrifices for humanity..

This your comment made me remember my primary school days. The first time my teacher asked me what I will like to become.... Without a second thought, I confidently answered a SCIENTIST. And now I am. And as long as there is life, I will progress further.

  27. People please read about clinical trials.
There are procedures for these things.
NB: Every drug/vaccine you find in the market went through stages of clinical trial; from using animals to human beings, and then post marketing surveillance, even common Paracetamol is not exempted.
    That's what science is about.
