    1. It is obvious people either rush to comment or are very young to understand what he said.

My hubby and I have been living in different parts of the state because of his job since 2015 and it is hectic!

In fact, it is the fastest way to divorce if Gods grace is not in the marriage.

So, if you are not married or have not "Experienced" this, careful how you comment.

    2. My hubby and I are living in different countries and have seriously grown apart despite me visiting nigeria every year. No sex for several years and I think we are headed for the divorce courts. Baba you got it!!! If I could have been a stay at home mum none of this would be happening but I can’t just sit down and be giving birth to kids without being able to cater for them. The Nigeria situation is tough and if it’s going good for you don’t judge just be grateful.

  4. I do not agree. If God made the virtuous woman in Proverb 30. Why was she called the virtuous woman if not her handiwork, diligence.

My opinion. What he said not true

    1. He said married couples, not just the woman!

I can relate but it is only grace of God that has been keeping my marriage intact.

    2. Yori Yori you said handiwork which every woman should have and adopt.
However for me if as a woman, you know won't leave your job in a far location or be able to get transferred, get married only to a man in same location simple.
Why get married and then start living apart immediately? What happens to building a family bond and raising your kids in a close knitted home?

The problem these days is that a lot of women are not interested in managing with their husbands while working towards making things better. They can't come down from that high horse and humble themselves to rise again in future and I wonder why they get married to the men in the first place.

If you are getting married to a man who isn't so bouyant in the first place and living far away from you, you should be ready to relocate and join him which means you should have a plan on either looking to secure another job in his location or learn a skill or two if you don't already have to enable you start a business.

  5. I'm going to dwell on the career bit. Last year, my partner and I were apart for nine months because of our careers. This year, I haven't seen him since January. We work and live in different states.

So, career is a huge deal in marraiges and relationships.

  6. I agree. The main problem is that people have failed to acknowledge that times are changing and the past culture of our society can no longer hold. Women want to be recognised now and independent. Society is not ready for that change, the parties in the marriage have not learnt how to accommodate these changing values therefore leading to disagreements and irreconcilable differences. There are still many other reasons why marriages are breaking up though...lack of commitment and the mentality of 'if it is not working..I am leaving' is now the mantra..Sadly.

    2. All these Societal Changes and what have you can never change God's word nor can it change nature. There's a reason why a man and woman should live together as a couple with the man as the head and provider while the woman nurtures, cares for and helps the man.

These so called Societal Changes is what is causing problems in families cos women won't let men be men and now prefer to leave their part for nannies and househelps in the name of racking in all the money they think the man cannot make.

We women are trying to change the course of nature in the name of Feminism and ofcos it won't be favorable cos it will backfire

    3. it is not just about women wanting recognition and independence but the fact that present economic realities make it impossible to cater to a family of 4 or 5 with a single income. You need finance for Romance. What if the man gets fired or isn't promoted? What if his company shuts down or there is a serious medical condition to manage over years? Church will not help with that bill. There was a time even the middle class Nigerians could send their children to government primary and secondary schools and these kids will end up literate. Doing that today is child abuse so you have couples spending all they have on private school in Nigeria then finding dollars to send to the West for university education. Today, the choice is do it the biblical way and end up cleaning your pastor's shoes or be a responsible parent at the cost of a strong marital bond. If no prophet is going to declare the end of poverty in Nigeria, just leave the people to be finding their square root.
