She decided to trek to work but was apprehended by armed robbers and the security guard for National Power Training Institute (NAPTIN) on Adelabu st, Surulere went to help her and got fatally stabbed in the abdomen .....
The Residents of Adelabu street where it happened say that If there were bikes or kekes, she wouldn't have been walking through that place in the early hours of today...
The Residents of Adelabu street where it happened say that If there were bikes or kekes, she wouldn't have been walking through that place in the early hours of today...
Her life was spared but someone else died in her place...
What a pity!
Na wa...this is why I hate Lagos,4:30-5am I'm still dozing while someone in Lagos is already trekking to work.May his soul rest in peace.May God be with good Lagosians
ReplyDeleteSomeone almost got raped as well o, its such a risky situation. They should have provided another means
DeleteChai!!! I'm sure some of those criminals are the okada/keke people. Crime rate is about to increase cos they have no means of survival.
DeleteNawa oooo. It's well
ReplyDeleteWhen polithieve-cians put out these policies they do not know the chaos they cause the common people.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pity.
Oh no! This is sad. May the good Lord rest his soul.
ReplyDeleteSad
ReplyDeleteThis is sad and may the soul of that security guard rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteThe availability of bike have not stopped arm robbery in time past though.
Nobody said anything like that, if she had been on a bike she would have missed this misfortune and nobody would have died.
DeleteNne reason small nah
This is just sad.
ReplyDeleteAs if Nigerians aren't passing through enuf hardship already
they have to add to their sufferings.
How can you just ban smthn without making alternative arrangements. It hasn't been a problem for me cos I'm mobile. My commute to work has even been easier, but i still feel bad for those trekking and waiting endlessly at bus stops.
These leaders have no empathy for the poor. Their kids have cars and stand'by drivers, what if their own daughters have to wake up at 4am and start trekking in the dark in these days of kidnappings, will they have peace as parents.
RIP to the young man who lost his life assisting.
That's just it. If their kids are even in the country, they are sure they won't be trekking. However they forget such things can eventually backfire and touch them as well.
DeleteWhen they have so lowered the standard of leadership on all political levels that only if you are or have resigned to thinking like a moron, only then can you stand the chance to be a 'leader'.
ReplyDeleteApplication of commonsense by the government could have prevented this horror story. They didn't think of introducing a cushioning effect to help counter and mitigate problems like this in the nearest future.
How am I expected to pay the increased tax and yet provide my own security?
But seriously how much is commensense? Cuz I see a lot of 'educated' people robbing their country off her wealth. What makes it pathetic is that they have not realized how much they're in desperate need of commonsense.
This is so sad. The government just does anything it wishes without considering the after effects or providing adequate measures. What's wrong with providing shuttles before banning Okada and Keke? Nigeria is a country in a big mess, God save us.
ReplyDeleteThey shouldn’t have banned keke same time with okada! I am tired of lamenting they don’t even listen to us anyway!
ReplyDeleteBuh okada and keke still ride in my area.so what is the ban about?
ReplyDeleteWait till when you have to visit a friend/family members or go to a far market place.
DeleteAfter what my eyes and legs saw at Oshodi today, I think that's a route I want to be avoiding for now especially when I have so much to carry on my own.
Why are ppl blaming a ban and not the evil robbers? The robbers are the ones at fault here, not a ban. Too many criminals roaming about with no good intentions for anybody. Killing at will because of their misery, yet they will never think to end their life, that is who they should be killing their own wicked self.
ReplyDeleteExactly, even without the ban, these never do wells are always roaming about looking for who to kill, rob and rape.
DeletePeople rob using bikes so to say it wouldn't have happened may not be entirely true.
Infact, bike is their get away means.
Okadas should be banned forever, that is it.
In every society there will always be persons who are inclined to stealing and killing. So it is only normal that when you are going to introduce something new try and look out for possible loops holes- the cons as well as the pros.
DeleteOnly then will you see the need for balance and control.
Not everytime talk/do without taking responsibility for ones action. If govt had provided room for better and tighter security you think say just any thief will want to be caught while at it??? Perpetuating such crimes will be more difficult to do and get away with.
Personally, I decided to merge my two days job into one day so that nobody will come and harass me one the road at late hours because of no vehicle for road. But isn't it the responsibility of the govt to provide security in the first place?
People will have to be careful how they go about their businesses becoz bad guys will be waiting to take advantage of them.
Simple, when hardship increases, crime increases.
DeleteReally sad!..people walking late should harm themselves with pepper spray and alarm(which will be on key ring pull it when in danger).
ReplyDeleteThis is the time to be security alert ooo
What happens in this clime is pathetic. Where a Governor copies the template of what another of his colleagues is doing in his state and just applies it without first finding out its workability in relation to where his lifting the programme from.
ReplyDeleteThat Okada and Keke was banned in Abuja and it worked, does it mean it will work in Lagos? Did compare the size of Lagos to Abuja, the population of both the working and business class in Lagos viz-a-viz Abuja?
May God deliver His people from these Accidental Leaders - Amen. May the soul of departed rest in perfect peace.
So sorry for the bereaved.
ReplyDeleteThe only advice I have is - only leave your house when it is safe to do so. When asked at work, tell them it’s not safe to be out on the street at some hours.
Think of it, any robbery that happened now, could have happened before the ban, cos many criminals also used the bike to operate. The first time I entered ‘one chance’ was with a taxi loading at a bus stop, so what are we saying?
Yes dear. Leave your house wen it's safe. I can never go 2 work 5 or 4am with transport except car.
Deletethis is so painful. May his soul rest in perfect peace
ReplyDeletesad
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad,may his soul rest in peace. It's so sad that we do not have listening and considerate leaders.
ReplyDeletevery sad.
ReplyDeleteSo sad.
ReplyDeleteSo sad...but armed robber can still stop bike and operate....God protection on every 1 of us
ReplyDeleteThis is a failed society! The people are improvising where you have failed as a government and you’re banning them. How do you place a ban without considering how it’s going to affect the vulnerable in the society? Lagos is the only mega city that does not have a proper rail network.
ReplyDeleteIf there was a proper rail service in Lagos, there would have been no point for the Okadas and kekes. The government should work on their failures instead of enacting policies that’ll punish the people!
What are the people even doing? The governor is not the boss! He’s a servant of the people. I don’t see any protests going on. I trust the French. They’ll keep protesting till Macron changes his mind. If lagosians can lockdown the entire Lagos for the whole of 1 week, the governor would rescind this decision. But being the selfish people that we are, many of those who have their own cars are very happy with what’s going on..
God bless you
DeleteCompanies should provide staff bus for their staff. Simple
ReplyDeleteThe question now is 'Will staff bus pass the front of staff member's house?'
DeleteThere you have it.
