Honestly I dont know what to make of this and need BVs to weigh in on the matter, cos even at the time my husband (who isnt a very religious person I may add), was shocked and told her to listen to the man. The circumstances were indeed strange.
Did she do the right thing?
Is she in a better place now?Did the person hear from God?

DeleteOne of the greatest frustrations of my life is not knowing the when or how of the physical manifestation of info I've accessed in the spirit. I can't make God talk (more). I'm a very logical and methodological person, so being prophetic is probably one of the most ironic things that can happen to me - so many of my arguments with God consist of, "But that makes no sense. How can You say X, Y, Z will happen?" But if God says something, it IS.
A lot of people gauge the authenticity of a prophecy by whether it's what you want to hear, or if it excites you. We've even rewritten Romans 8:28 to suit our whims. But not everything that God says is easy or nice to hear. For instance, when Adeboye likened Osinbajo to Saul I-never-hesperredit and people were jubilating, I wondered if they were insane or just ignorant of the gravity of the situation.
Is it possible the lady heard from God through the man she met, even if he didn't remember it afterwards? Yes. That a vessel doesn't remember means just that - they don't remember. But how will we know for sure whether it was genuine or not when she doesn't have a relationship with God? The idea of being in a better place or not after following a prophecy isn't what we use to gauge. Genuine prophecies are SPOILER ALERTS; they NEVER tell you the whole story. As man of God as Samuel was, that he anointed David in the presence of his brothers, did he tell David what he would endure before the crown would physically rest on his head? Did Samuel even know? Samuel wasn't even alive when the word that God spoke through him, happened! Joseph's dreams were prophetic yet look what happened after he had them. Abraham heard God directly (not a prophet) yet didn't know he would be 100yo at Isaac's birth.
Peace should umpire our decisions - the existence or lack of inner peace that has nothing to do with your external surroundings or the situation is what to use to gauge. Not the immediacy of the change you're looking for; if not, we might as well call Jesus fake too - when He cursed the fig tree, it didn't wither at that same second. You don't get inner peace from calling and discussing with 300+ people who will not be there with you to face the consequences of whatever decision you eventually take. If your spirit isn't at peace with what one person said, is it the additional voices that will probably have all kinds of opinions that will give you peace? EVERY time I've replaced the instruction of God with the opinion of wo/man, I've paid for it. Normally cos I already know what God has said about it and choose to do something else. Even if God hadn't spoken to me previously, I lose my peace when I hear advice that's not from Him for a situation. As far as I'm concerned, if you're not revealing or confirming what God is saying about a specific situation - you're talking TRASH, no matter who you are.
I get very worried when people won't take the time to know God for themselves. I can give you a prophecy about something that will happen cos that's what God revealed. How or when it will happen is what I might not be able to tell you everytime cos I don't know as I'm not God - no human being is. And I know better than to invent a method or time. So, it is in your best interest to stick to God like glue so that even when you receive a genuine word, you can be be in a position to cooperate with the Originator to bring it to pass.
