DeleteNot true, priesthood is not a path to wealth. If at all some do, it will be less than 5%. There is no money in priesthood. Most priests have degrees and work to supplement their stipend. Some are lecturers, professors, doctors etc. However, for priests who are the only child of their parents and their parents are poor.. If verified, the church will help financially by building them a house and so on.

It is not also about homosexuality because there is no mutual attraction or interest from the children. Many priests have in the past had secret families and kept mistresses or had strings of affairs. What a pedophile gets off on is CONTROL. Some of these abusers in priestly garb also rape young girls. DeleteForbidding to marry simply means saying that marriage is wrong in its entirety and that people should not marry at all. The catholic church does not forbid anybody to marry. But if you want to be in charge of others then you get ready to make some sacrifices. Don't forget that St Paul said it's best not to marry so that one can serve the Lord well

ReplyDeleteThe irony of life. As I grew older I realized it is better priests stay unmarried. Now, that I actually read the Bible for myself, I can categorically say that staying unmarried and devoting all your time to God is the best commitment one can have for God. But, then again, nobody is forced to be a priest and if you are tired of celibacy, you can actually opt out.

DeleteI partly agree with him in the sense that some priest can stay unmarried and still discipline themselves not to fall into sexual sins. While some desire to serve God as priests but can't control their urge. It is better this ones get married that be deceiving themselves and wrecking havoc on the fold they are meaant to oversee and lead to God.
ReplyDeleteMy secondary school classmate married to one village man, and became village champion to the village women and was made the catholic women president, so overseers everything he women does in the village, handles their account, so she relates to the Fathers very very well and as somebody who is quite young and beautiful,if you see the way she and the Fathers dey fuck eh no be here oo, whether, she cooks for them, in fact if any body want to see the father you must pass through her, come and see guy, pride,the one that shocked me most, the mother died and was buried this January, the Fathers came o for the buria and was entertained in my own family house, with two cartons of small stout for like 8 Rev father's this fathers finished the drink not even one remain, when I expressed my surprise I was told that, its not even enough for them,whaaat!so they fuckers and drinkers.
