Amaechi made this known while speaking at the 2020 national economic outlook in Lagos, on Tuesday, adding that the new seaports will be in Bonny, Rivers, and in Warri, Delta states.
The Minister added that President Buhari has also assured him that a railway will be constructed from Port Harcourt, Rivers state, to Maiduguri in Borno state.
Good to know
ReplyDeleteTransport routes or milking routes?
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to onne and Marine base sea ports?
ReplyDeleteLet him bring his brothers into Rivers State to wreck havoc🤬🤬🤬🤬
Big Question that need answer
DeleteI think they should update the old ones than creating a new one.
DeleteOnne is a low water level port and cannot harbour cargo ships. It is more expensive dredging and making intel payments due to concession than siting a new one of working on another.
DeleteMarine base is not a sea port. And hasn’t reached the level of port.
Learn, get facts before commenting. Information and knowledge are power tools. I hope you will keep quiet now than let out your ethnic bigotry.
@Anonymous 16:33, thank you for the information and education.
DeleteSo petty and shady of them to purposely bypass the eastern IGBO states.
ReplyDeleteTell us the Igbo states that borders an ocean or area of possible harboring and berthing of cargo ship. If you can point out one, you will find answers to your question. Be wise. Not everything is about Igbo marginalization. Always playing the victim card. Mtcheeeew.
DeleteEastern states island locked except tou want to add Rivers to eastern states. Nigerian ain't operating the south. Western, eastern and northern region only. There is south south and south east...and I believe Rivers is south south..
DeleteAudio seaports, audio railways. They haven't even finished the ones they are working on..
ReplyDeleteGod be praised!
ReplyDeleteOther parts of the country will open up and the economy will fare better.
Calabar should be a better place to build new seaport.
ReplyDeletetrue that.
DeleteExactly, the town no rowdy and it will open it up.
DeleteHey Mimi, you are correct. But Onne port cannot work out because it is a low level water port that cannot harbour and berth cargo ship. It was done two times with serious logistics and costs implications. Then the intel thing.
DeleteFor Warri, fine. But for Bonny, how do people access the place to clear their goods, since Bonny is not accessible by road? Or is the port meant to serve Bonny Island only?
ReplyDeleteWhy not in Onitsha
ReplyDeleteOnitsha that is tight already
DeleteNext thing boko haram will take train rides to ph. Nice 👍🏾
ReplyDeleteAnother white elephant project loading. We do not need any new seaport. The existing ones should be revamped. But, if they one to build one, Calabar will be a better choice and it should be completed before the end of their regime.
ReplyDeleteTill I see it functioning I will not comment
ReplyDeleteEnter your comment...what happen to ibom deep sea port in Akwa ibom, capable of taking any vessel because of its depth. Apc stop playing politics with development
ReplyDeleteZoo country and confused leaders
ReplyDeleteConfused leaders what happens to the previous sea ports.
ReplyDeletePlease with which resources will this seaports be built with.their are some important projects that are incomplete, or yet to commence due to scarcity of fund's according to the FG. This is misplacement of priority, we don't need new seaport, let's resurrect the ones we have already. It's high time we Begin to plan and do things in an organised manner in this country.
ReplyDeleteEnter your comment... Good but I support the Ibom deep sea port to substitute one of the proposed.
