Love your enemies, bless those who curse you,do good to those who have you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you that you may be sons of your FATHER in heaven... (Matthew 5:44-45).
We were never instructed to pray for our enemies to fall and die or pray for negative things to happen to them. If you are a child of God, you have His Holy Spirit who enables you to do this. Humanly speaking, it's impossible but with the Holy Spirit, we have the advantage. It's left for us to choose to obey Jesus' instruction or not.
Grace has been given to us to do this. All you need do is ask God to help you do it. We are empowered to love. Praying for someone to fall and die is not love, it's hate and God doesn't operate where there's hate. He is love.
For those saying that Jesus could do it because He is Good do not understand that when He was on earth He walked as a Man anointed by the Holy Spirit. As a Man, Jesus also made the choice to walk in love. If Jesus couldn't be tempted to fall, why did Satan tempt Him?
The same Holy Spirit that Jesus had indwells everyone who has received Him into their hearts. If He can, we are empowered to do what Jesus did. We are very empowered to walk like He walked. It's up to us.
Love is all we are told to do. It's not easy to love and pray for our enemies but it's liberating. I have been there. So I know. Love conquers all things.

If you sentence your enemies to death with your mouth and they die, what does that tell you? Abeg I'd rather be on the offensive with my prayers than be on the defensive with too much grammar. Two days ago, someone sent in a chronicle where she said lives were lost previously and her brother was about to be taken as well but since he was not,her dad had to die. If he had lived more lives would have been lost.

I was going to say that the person who is asking this question has not read through the book of Psalms. David prayed some prayers worse than death on his enemies and their children! I read some passages in psalms and I tremble.

DeleteMy brother went for deliverance at MFM. He just came back from abroad and didn't believe much on the power of deliverance, but his experience during the deliverance made him understand that it was powerful. He said at some point, as the prayers were going on, he saw a snake on my late grandmothers bed. That the snake ran out of the room and went to the front of the compound, and started rolling, like it was on fire, before dying. He also said on another day of the deliverance, he saw a girl running out from the family house, into the river. I was the one that asked him to go for deliverance, but, he ended up giving me more confidence at the end of the day. Those prayers work, if you are not focusing on someone to die.

They quickly run to quote one verse from the old testament for you forgetting that we are in the era of GRACE. The laws are not meant for us anymore. How many laws in the old testament can they keep? But Jesus came to bring the fulfilment of the old testament and as our lord and saviour he instructed us to pray for our enemies. He even gave us an example by praying for his enemies who crucified him at the point of death. These people doing the opposite dont seem different from boko hatam biko, one have the physical arms to cause death, while the other one is also seeking thesame end albeit without the physical arms.

The thing is nobody is forcing anybody. If you think the prayer points raised in church is too heavy for someone who is digging a grave for you, then please feel free to ignore the points.
If you wish someone dead, then the person cries to God to send evil back to the sender, no crime in that. Shey its the almighty God we are praying to na, so if you pray and he answers, then the prayer is legit and you should be grateful. Its not even by prayers, its by the grace of the all knowing God who gives everyone what they deserve. There are some evil personalities ehn.... chai 😭😭😭. May they not triumph over us. Amen.

ReplyDeleteIf you pray for your enemies to die; do you know you're an enemy to another person? We are all enemies to someone in one way or the other even when you have the purest of hearts. Some people tag you an enemy and just hate you for no reason. If God answers such prayers, then there'll just be few people or no one left on the face of the earth.

DeleteI know this pattern all too well. Once they have done their evil work in the night, which GOD will reveal to you via dreams, they will call in the morning or later on the day to know how far in order to monitor what they have done.
Going forward, please STOP picking her calls and tell your mom not to say anything about you in case she ask about your welfare. It's information they know that they attack.
One thing I have learnt recently is that God gives us dreams for a reason.

ReplyDeleteWell churches don't pray for enemies to die. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I know MFM is usually the most obvious example but if you are familiar with MFM prayers, you would know it's the spirit behind a particular problem they are asking to die not an actual human being.

Delete...but spirits don't die, even Jesus only casted them out. Nowhere is it recorded in the Bible that a spirit was killed.
DeleteRubbish mentality. Can spirits die? Did Jesus ask us to kill spirits or to cast them out? Spirits are eternal beings just like God. Even Jesus Christ himself casted out evil spirits. He didn't command them to die. You people going to MFM to shout die by fire are just wasting your time and energy. Spirits don't die

ReplyDeleteGod commanded the Israelites to get rid from their midst anyone found practicing witchcraft; but in the Gospel the Lord Jesus urged believers to pray for their enemies.
A witch or wizard is someone who works with evil spirits to carry out his/her enterprise for the sole purpose of manipulating other humans through sorcery. A witch/wizard is not a human being as far as God is concerned, because when demons and humans agree to work together, the product is neither human nor demon.
So, praying against witches/wizards/sorcerers is okay.
However, the Greek word translated enemy in the Gospels connotes a man or woman who violates other people's rights. so in a case like that the Lord Jesus urges believers to pray for people (enemies) who violate their rights.
Witches and enemies are different subjects in the Bible, but many of us are oblivious to this fact, because the Old Testament was translated from Aramaic language and the New Testament from Greek.
Furthermore, we subconsciously think enemies and witches are the same.
Witches must die, not by physical assault, but by the same means they carry out their enterprise - spiritually.

I will use a bit of theology to explain to us. Mathew 5 from 38 down to 47 which speaks about praying for our enemies is a part we must study critically to understand. The book of Mathew was written by apostle Mathew who was a Jew and a tax collector. Mathews epistle was written to the jews. Notice that verse 38 and 43 of chapter 5, starts with "you have been told", Matthew was simply saying "I know you all know the Old Testament but God is calling us all to a life of love shown by mercy".hence we must pray for our enemies like Jesus did on the cross and Stephen just before his death.

Remember when Jesus told his followers to eat his body and drink his blood, their reply was "who can follow this, it is hard teaching " but as Christians we must respond like apostle Peter "to whom shall we go lord, you have the message of eternal life ".

ReplyDeleteSo essentially, you are praying against the powers behind the persons that are afflicting you. Their witchcraft powers, marine powers, occultic powers and envious witchcraft and if they have shown their souls to satan so be it.
It is a sin to hate any human being, and it is equally a sin to love demons and hard-core satanic agents.
David asked God to do terrible things to his enemies: God should dash them to pieces like a potters vessel; they should be as chaff before the wind; their wives should become widows and their children fatherless; their ways should be dark and slippery; their habitation should be desolate: their welfare should become a trap ETC. I can go on and on about psalm alone. Not to talk of elisha and Elijah.
They bible said pray for you enemies, it didn't specify the type of prayers though. You can pray for witches attacking you to feed fat on your blood. God is so merciful so much so that if these witches kill you and repent they will make heaven, while you that is busy committing sin and praying for your enemies will find yourself in hell. Haven't you heard of a witch repenting on their death bed?

When you see Christians with the same blood lust as Biko haram, it is just sad. Your life is hidden in Christ in God- no one can hold your blessings or tamper with your destiny. This is why Jesus and his disciples did not deliver anybody as jokers do in Nigeria. Calling death is rubbishing God's work on the cross because he died for them as well and they are the ones referred to in that parable where workers who came in late and did the least work still qualified for the full pay of eternal life. All the generational curses and agreements have been nailed to the cross. Every tongue that rises surrender you in judgement is silenced because Jesus your advocate is continually showing the father his pierced hands and sides. The holy spirit is groaning in prayer within you daily .

With all the nonsense the Israelites were doing, Balam and Balak could not curse them because you can't curse whom the lord has blessed- there is no enchantment against Israel, no divination against Jacob. If anyone speaks a thing against you, who can declare a thing the lord has not spoken? You are the beloved of the lord. You are the person written about in Psalm 91. When you see the so called violent prayers prayed in the old testament, you should thank God you don't have to pray that way because the blood and work of Jesus has done it all.
The Bible says the devil is a liar and goes about LIKE a roaring 🦁 seeking whom to devour. The moment he can convince the child of God that he has a say in their life through dreams, thoughts "prophesies", declarations or anything, he has won because that person would immediately stop listening to God and grant him audience- the same way he got Eve in the Bible. Getting you to abandon God's instruction would delay but not cancel God's plan for you and that would further convince you that the are things you need to do to provoke or impress A God that is disgusted by works of human righteousness. Jesus who determines what prayers are answered gave you expo on how to pray but your church daddy who lives off you and has no real job said he has a secret... Continue.
When Jesus taught his disciples how to pray, he made it clear that everything you need- provision, protection, guidance etc come from heaven. He made it clear that the only sons that concern you are YOURS, not whatever your ancestors were into- this is the same guy that gave you the misused verse about heaven suffering violence- the same one who replaced the ear that Peter cut off. Sleep at night and accept God's finished work. Eat and don't have church induced ulcer. Your only enemy is fear and the antidote is filling yourself with God's promises and trusting that the maker and shaker of the universe has got your back. If any dream, thought, declaration or experience scares you, submit it to the cross for your God to deal with and dismiss it from your mind.
The same Nigerians that have been praying for death have failed to kill Buhari and are now trying to escape to the lands of the gays- apparently, no enemy is dying. Boko haram has not died . NEPA has not died. Lassa fever and ebola make their yearly rounds and poverty has annexed Nigeria as it's capital but God's children forget that he did not order Roman colonialists to die. They keep expending their energies chasing shadows then are too tired to hear that still small voice whispering the secrets of breakthrough.

But if you notice that you put all the necessary effort and go the extra mile and still... some of us have seen things in this life. Started this life journey 'praying for our enemies' that almost took our lives. No you can't tell me nothing. When one is under constant attack, sleep they won't still leave you in your dreams and you want me to be praying that they live long. See, I am not about to start going to the native doctors or visit any water to appease any thing. I only know my God, and since birds have learnt to fly without perching, I also learnt how to shoot without missing. The kingdom of darkness is evolving, the same counting of beads that you did before and they obeyed doesn't work on them anymore. Witchcraft doctors are no longer in the forests, the have mansions in banana island. They are on social media and the are using more technical and advanced means to ensnare their victims. They use your friends against you, your trusted family members.
ReplyDeleteSo me I have decided that they must think twice before they come after me. I remember my former boss mentioning that satanic priest told her that she can't touch me o. Even another guy in the office said I cry fire. That is all! Let them know that my redeemer liveth! I was tired of being on the defense always. Everytime I close my eyes bad dreams, or is it my family witchcraft that one is a story for another day. Even people I have said no to for marriage went diabolical for me and envious friends too. I was tired. I cleaned my life literally, by forgoing any form of sexual sin and pollution and keyed into right standing with God. Then I wake up every midnight to pray no matter how tired I am. Hot fall and die prayers o.
I also replaced turning up on fridays with Vigils, turning up for God instead.
Well God is good. No I am on the offensive not defensive. Violence is only language these people understand.
