  1. Since they have sentenced her to death, what again are they correcting in "correctional center?" Finish her off once and for all.
But my grouse with this sentencing is when it was reported that she had to die based on circumstantial evidence?
I thought the courts work with evidence beyond reasonable doubts and not circumstantial?
    😮😮😮😮

    1. I'm not in support of her killing her husband, but bcos her ex husband family is influential that's y this sentence!

They could at least given her life imprisonment!

May the lords mercy always speak for us amen.

    2. In Nigeria, prisons are now called or referred to as "correctional centres" or "custodial centres". The term "prison" is now obsolete in Nigeria, regardless of the fact that these centres are actually prisons. Semantics, I guess.

Until the day of her execution, she will be remanded into prison custody (correctional or custodial centre). She will not be kept with the general population of inmates, she will be locked up in the section reserved for condemned prisoners. It's even worse than the section for the general inmates serving their sentences. During prison visits, the chief judge and his/her entourage are not allowed to go there unless special circumstances exists, which are extremely rare. Most chief judges wouldn't even want to go there because condemned prisoners are known to be very erratic and unpredictable, it's not like they have anything to lose.

    3. Circumstantial evidence can be very compelling such that they erase reasonable doubt. The standard of proof in criminal cases in Nigeria is proof beyond reasonable doubt. This can be achieved by adducing direct eye witness or eye witnesses account, circumstantial evidence from which the guilt of the accused can be inferred or free and voluntary confessional statement of guilt which is direct and positive. These are the 3 ways of proving the guilt of an accused in criminal cases.

As long as the circumstantial evidence is cogent, credible, compelling and irresistibly points to the fact that no other person but the accused/defendant killed the deceased, it will be enough to warrant a conviction. Corroboration is desirable though. In some murder cases, direct eye witness account is impossible, unless, of course, a confessional statement.

    6. The irony of it is that she was his second wife. She was probably a side chic at first, sending the same kind of text messages she killed him for.

  2. E fit be manslaughter and isn't supposed to get her a death sentence.

I was raised differently, my dad always told me that there are consequences for every actions. You do the crime, you do the time, whether by hanging or life sentence in prison.

      It was a premeditated murder.

I see how many Nigerians have become emotional 😂😂😂😂

    1. You don't "mistakenly" take a knife and then slaughter your husband's into pieces...

You see the reason Nigeria will remain the way it is, people sympathise with evil, they enable criminals and later, they will be screaming government this, government that.

    2. Thank you Mrs A. You really understand the way average Nigerian youths think these days.
They have so much sympathy for evil doers and so much negativity for their country.
      They never see anything good

  20. We all exhibit different levels of strength. Who knows the text message she saw that made her exhibit the beast in her... Not everyone is able to just scream and insult the man and feel better, just as not everyone is able to stay silent! Let's just pray that in life we are able to control our reaction to our pain, pain that stems from betrayal, emotional abuse, threat and worst of all being insulted by the one you love via text message to a girlfriend/side chick.... I pray that this doesn't affect her children.. I wish she was given a life jail term so the kids don't lose out on having at least a biological parent. This just brings so much memories and pain...😢😢

So so bad for their poor kids pls federal government should do something her death will not bring back her husband the evil has been done and punishment should be given to her but death is a big NO from my own point of view how will those kids feel when they grow up only to know that their mother killed their father and the government killed their mother? Hmmmm if she is killed I fear if those kids will ever have humana conscience please for the sake of our tomorrow let her be speared and sentence to jailed for life. There is no punishment greater that the punishment from God

  33. This is not justice at all, what did the prosecution base th charge on, why is it murder instead of manslaughter, I thought this was done in the heat of passion? why is the charge murder, or was there something else that happened beside the argument and confrontation that led to the man's death, if not then she should be freed and allowed to care for their daughter because this is a miscarriage of justice, unless thy are trying to let her go by charging her with the wrong crime so there can be a loophole of double jeopardy. Th original charge should have been manslaughter instead of murder and which circumstantial evidence are they talking about. Is the matter more than, he was cheating, she saw it and they were arguing and she pulled a knife and stabbed him? My naija sha and miscarriage of justice. Thy are trying to kill a fly with sledge hammer, they wont carry out justice where and when they are supposed to and then do overkill when it is not that necessary. Don't get me wrong, I m not saying she should not suffer the consequences of her actions, just saying she was charged under the wrong law for the crime.
