She has been sentenced to die by the hangman's noose but is to be remanded in Suleja Correctional centre until she exhausts her appeal rights...
These photos are heart breaking but Justice has been served, she killed a man in cold blood...He was a human being and had a family that loved him and whose death has put them all in a state of permanent sadness.......
Since they have sentenced her to death, what again are they correcting in "correctional center?" Finish her off once and for all.
ReplyDeleteBut my grouse with this sentencing is when it was reported that she had to die based on circumstantial evidence?
I thought the courts work with evidence beyond reasonable doubts and not circumstantial?
😮😮😮😮
I'm not in support of her killing her husband, but bcos her ex husband family is influential that's y this sentence!
DeleteThey could at least given her life imprisonment!
May the lords mercy always speak for us amen.
In Nigeria, prisons are now called or referred to as "correctional centres" or "custodial centres". The term "prison" is now obsolete in Nigeria, regardless of the fact that these centres are actually prisons. Semantics, I guess.
DeleteUntil the day of her execution, she will be remanded into prison custody (correctional or custodial centre). She will not be kept with the general population of inmates, she will be locked up in the section reserved for condemned prisoners. It's even worse than the section for the general inmates serving their sentences. During prison visits, the chief judge and his/her entourage are not allowed to go there unless special circumstances exists, which are extremely rare. Most chief judges wouldn't even want to go there because condemned prisoners are known to be very erratic and unpredictable, it's not like they have anything to lose.
Circumstantial evidence can be very compelling such that they erase reasonable doubt. The standard of proof in criminal cases in Nigeria is proof beyond reasonable doubt. This can be achieved by adducing direct eye witness or eye witnesses account, circumstantial evidence from which the guilt of the accused can be inferred or free and voluntary confessional statement of guilt which is direct and positive. These are the 3 ways of proving the guilt of an accused in criminal cases.
DeleteAs long as the circumstantial evidence is cogent, credible, compelling and irresistibly points to the fact that no other person but the accused/defendant killed the deceased, it will be enough to warrant a conviction. Corroboration is desirable though. In some murder cases, direct eye witness account is impossible, unless, of course, a confessional statement.
Tess-baby I no u can do d same tin.this judgement is for man and men.how can a Muslim wife kill her husband because of another woman when she knows the husband is entitile to four wives if he can take care of them.
DeleteWas it murder or manslaughter?
DeleteThe irony of it is that she was his second wife. She was probably a side chic at first, sending the same kind of text messages she killed him for.
DeleteE fit be manslaughter and isn't supposed to get her a death sentence.
ReplyDeleteThis is a case of kids being deprived of both dad and mother.
We are waiting for Udeme Odibi’s the female lawyer that cut of her hubby’s genitals at Diamond Estate Ajah. Marriage is not a “do or die affair” if it’s not working out, leave ASAP.
DeleteWhere motive was established it cannot be manslaughter.
DeleteIf it wasn't premeditated, it's manslaughter not murder.
DeleteReally heartbreaking..nobody has the right to take someone elses own.Just walk out of the marriage if you cant cope anymore.
ReplyDeleteAs sad as this may, why did she kill him over what exactly? na crime for him to have married her? if na man kill wife we all go shout but this is totally uncalled for. walk away if you are tired of the marriage.
ReplyDeleteTime to meet her maker 👋
ReplyDeleteMarriage is not a do or die affair!
ReplyDeleteShe killed a man. No matter how heart wrenching her situation is, she killed a man. She got served.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The law is the law. Yes we feel bad, the whole situation is tragic and sad. But she was convicted of murder. And the sentence is death. She of course has the right to appeal that sentence
DeleteI just watched the video and I feel really sad.
ReplyDeleteImagine as a mother, you learn that your child has been sentenced to death...devastating.
Imagine as a mother, you learn that your son has been stabbed multiple times to death.... Devastating.
DeleteI was raised differently, my dad always told me that there are consequences for every actions. You do the crime, you do the time, whether by hanging or life sentence in prison.
It was a premeditated murder.
I see how many Nigerians have become emotional 😂😂😂😂
Nigeria will never be a sane country because of Nigerians.
Too bad but justice must be served.
ReplyDeletei pity her thou.
SEXYHIPS
Kia...what could be running through her mind now, full of regret I guess. This is the worst death ever, knowing she would be hanged someday kia.
ReplyDeletePlease if your tired of your marriage please kindly walk away. I feel pity for her kia.
She will be regretting that very day.
DeleteHmmmm,I feel so sorry kids.
ReplyDeleteNa wa. People won't learn/listen/watch the news as this Buhari regime has caused more harm than good.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Buhari that told Maryam to kill her husband?
DeleteY'all Keep looking for a scapegoat for y'all shortcomings.
"was it"
DeleteEnd time regret.
ReplyDeleteSo sad.
ReplyDeleteThe photographs look nothing like her; maybe a relation or a sympathizer
ReplyDeleteThis man was someone's child. Can you imagine his mother's pain. He belonged to other people before her. They did not kill him . Who gave her the right? She cried like a local woman when wahala jam person levels dey change.
ReplyDeleteFelt for her, but then what can one say.
ReplyDeleteToo late to cry ..
ReplyDeleteI have no feelings for her.
Too late. Courageous justice. There was a time a woman slaughtered her husband who just arrived from overseas and was sleeping in Ibadan. The end product was she was insane. There are some people who are not supposed to be on this planet for the world to be peaceful

DeleteWasn't it the woman with influential parents who got pardoned by the governor and her parents sent her out of the country upon her release?
DeleteWhat a sad ending.
ReplyDeleteI feel so sorry for her daughter.
i agree with u stella. i think women are being sentimemtal with this case cos its a woman thst did it. the law is the law and shouldmt be gender bias. btw i wonder what happened to thst udeme woman that "mistakenly" killed her hubby in lekki and cut off his penis
ReplyDeleteYou don't "mistakenly" take a knife and then slaughter your husband's into pieces...
DeleteYou see the reason Nigeria will remain the way it is, people sympathise with evil, they enable criminals and later, they will be screaming government this, government that.
Thank you Mrs A. You really understand the way average Nigerian youths think these days.
DeleteThey have so much sympathy for evil doers and so much negativity for their country.
They never see anything good
The same way you have sympathy for Buhari and his govt. You even supported how they imposed a stooge in Imo state against the people's will. You all are just the same and deserve the leaders you have!
DeleteAnon you really answered Don correctly.
DeleteWow Naija...how did it go from discussing a woman who killed her husband to a stooge in Imo state...just wow
DeleteShe old in this picture, that is how the family of the man she beheaded were wailing too
ReplyDeleteThis is not maryam,a relative of hers I think
ReplyDeleteHer mother I believe.
DeleteStella 😏
ReplyDeleteWe all exhibit different levels of strength. Who knows the text message she saw that made her exhibit the beast in her... Not everyone is able to just scream and insult the man and feel better, just as not everyone is able to stay silent! Let's just pray that in life we are able to control our reaction to our pain, pain that stems from betrayal, emotional abuse, threat and worst of all being insulted by the one you love via text message to a girlfriend/side chick.... I pray that this doesn't affect her children.. I wish she was given a life jail term so the kids don't lose out on having at least a biological parent. This just brings so much memories and pain...😢😢
ReplyDeletePlease, be this understanding when men are backhanding and head butting their wives. Who knows what level of provocation would push a man to batter his wife?
DeleteWhat if it was manslaughter, not murder? What was the evidence? Was it beyond and completely beyond all reasonable doubt? Why hanging? Why not lethal injection? What happens to the children?
ReplyDeleteHe who killed by sword shall be kill with sord
ReplyDeleteIt’s remaining the blog visitor that killed her husband in Lagos. Stella, can you bring an update about that case?
ReplyDeleteBlog visitors in Lagos need to go visit her in Prison oh. After all, we are one big happy family.
foolish woman, you should have walked away when you cannot stay with him.
ReplyDeleteVery foolish indeed.
DeleteI have no sympathy for her
she butchered the father of her children while he was defenseless [praying].
ReplyDeleteshe didn't stop there, she with her mother and maid tried to cover the murder scene.
they didn't stop there oh, the deceased was lied upon by them claiming that he fell on the weapon!
I have Zero smpathy for her.
I can't be remotely be sorry for her.
please let's be careful how we feel sorry for her hence we will be indirectly encouraging criminality and crime.
she did the crime, let her do the time.
So so bad for their poor kids pls federal government should do something her death will not bring back her husband the evil has been done and punishment should be given to her but death is a big NO from my own point of view how will those kids feel when they grow up only to know that their mother killed their father and the government killed their mother? Hmmmm if she is killed I fear if those kids will ever have humana conscience please for the sake of our tomorrow let her be speared and sentence to jailed for life. There is no punishment greater that the punishment from God
ReplyDeleteSure right ... Let govt leave the woman for her kids ... The kids belongs to the husband family too.. I see no reason why she deserve death sentence ... Let alone by hanging .... Please those close the govt help us do something good for the kids .
DeleteI hoped that the husband's family would forgive her for the sake of the children especially after she found out she was pregnant.
DeleteLife imprisonment should be better .... Please we are all human no matter the gravity of the crime she committed .. Let's pray for her ...lets Stop arguing or proofing our point please ... God knows best ....
ReplyDeleteThe wages of sin is death
ReplyDeleteTwo wrongs can't make a right.this scenario is special.both parents should forgive for the sake of the daughter and allah.we can't bring back the dead but we can amend and make things better through forgiveness and not sentencing another to death.not easy though
ReplyDeleteWhat some of y'all are saying here is ridiculous. She killed some one dammit.
ReplyDeleteGod does'nt want the death of a dinner but to repent.Pls,let's forgive her for God Sake
ReplyDeleteWhere is Kolade Arowolo? who killed his banker wife Titi, way back 2011. I guess he has been set free. the coroners found she was stabbed 70 something times. kolade is still alive ooo
ReplyDeleteHe is still on death row.
DeleteHe was sentenced to death. READ, LISTEN TO NEWS
DeleteEnter your comment...pls let all stop dis sympathy of a tin....d Justice is served.... imagine if d husband is ur brother what will u say......
ReplyDeleted law shouldn't be gender bias... doing dis is like encouraging evil....she killed a man in cold blood u are here saying shit
Chia an eye for an eye
ReplyDeleteThis is not justice at all, what did the prosecution base th charge on, why is it murder instead of manslaughter, I thought this was done in the heat of passion? why is the charge murder, or was there something else that happened beside the argument and confrontation that led to the man's death, if not then she should be freed and allowed to care for their daughter because this is a miscarriage of justice, unless thy are trying to let her go by charging her with the wrong crime so there can be a loophole of double jeopardy. Th original charge should have been manslaughter instead of murder and which circumstantial evidence are they talking about. Is the matter more than, he was cheating, she saw it and they were arguing and she pulled a knife and stabbed him? My naija sha and miscarriage of justice. Thy are trying to kill a fly with sledge hammer, they wont carry out justice where and when they are supposed to and then do overkill when it is not that necessary. Don't get me wrong, I m not saying she should not suffer the consequences of her actions, just saying she was charged under the wrong law for the crime.
ReplyDeleteThose are the killers we are talking about, beware of this person.
DeleteBeware if yhis person for wjat? Let is remove unnecesdary emorion and look at the law, was it mitder or man slaighter that is supposed to be the chathe. SMH, so you cannot reason without calling somebody a mirderer? Shame, stop being unnecessarily emotional. She should die by hanging abi? In a civiliized society for the wrong charge? Omase oo. Again nobody is saying she should not be purnished na

DeleteStella pls that is not Maryam Sanda but one of her sympathisers.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too. This woman is alot older clearly.
DeleteStella that's Maryam's mother, the killer was in handcuffs n had her face covered with a Qur'an in her hand.
ReplyDeleteYes,the lawyer, she was pardoned by the past government and traveled out of the country
ReplyDelete
