Hours after the incident, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei appointed a tough Brigadier General, Esmail Qaani (Ghaani), as the new commander.
In his announcement, Khamenei described Qaani as “one of the most distinguished Revolutionary Guard commanders”.
Qaani fought in the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s and was a close and trusted aide to Soleimani. He also served as an intelligence official in the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC).
Qaani is known for his extremist opposition to Israel, similar to Soleimani, and was one of the key figures in Iran’s involvement in the Syrian civil war.

DeleteIran no reach to cough where America is. I just pray we don't have to see another effect of Heroshima again. Donald Trump is a promise keeper, they shouldn't take such a deadly risk.
ReplyDeleteshould we be worried
ReplyDeleteGeorge Bush started these war with Islamic people. Trump better don't start what you cannot finish o, you better call for peace else.
ReplyDeleteDo you think before you type?
DeleteI support president Donald Trump on this.
ReplyDeleteI don't! The US want the world to be against Iran so they leech their oil. They fooled me first thinking 911 was a real attack from al-Qaeda but it was an inside work arranged by the Masonic people. They can't fool me again with their conspiracies
DeleteDear Aproko Queen, isn't it time you looked into getting an appointment with a psychologist?

DeleteIf they like, let them resurrect Osama Bin Laden and appoint him.
ReplyDeleteUSA will finish them. Just one strike and they are finished
It is a serious thing, that’s what we have been watching on CNN since. According to the report Qessim Suleimani has been killing Americans.
ReplyDeleteAbeg, they should settle it amicably o! No one wins in war
This will be bloody o... not again...
ReplyDeletePeace is the ultimate. They should settle amicably biko no need for war.
ReplyDeleteSomeone said, World war 3 is loading
ReplyDeleteI am about to start reading for my exams. I don’t want any nonsense now I have decided to move.
ReplyDeleteWorld people stop hurting yourselves.
ReplyDeleteHow difficult is it to love ourselves?
Is money not easier than all the lives lost ap far? Just to prove you're better than Obama, American lives have been lost also, but that's not important to Trump. The world has changed since the last war.
ReplyDeleteParties with nukes only go to war after exercising the last drop of caution because they know their destruction will be mutual.
ReplyDeleteThe US has military bases close to Iran and Iran has none close to the US. Still does not mean that Iran will lose
Did you expect Iran to send a delegation to the US like Nigeria did when Xenophobia happened recently? A nation that knows her international relations well wouldn't do that.
If you ask,it is not Nigeria's business. Let's focus of BH and ISWAP
Sha Idk because na only one book on geopolitics me don read.
Lol it is Nigeria's business too o. Why d'you think they're calling it a world war? America goes to war, Nigeria will be affected. Money will be tight, inflation and recession will rise. Nigeria imports billions of $$ yearly from the US. That's what stabilizes the economy, given what the politicians are thieving. Nig is a US ally and may send soldiers if asked.
DeleteIran can scream all they want but they are no match for the united states, lightweight boxers and heavyweight boxers ain't mates my people,in a face to face between iran and the USA,there will be only one winner, the USA.
ReplyDeleteNice move. Brent crude price will soon hit $100. Gain, gain to nigeria.
ReplyDeleteIn 2003, U.S invaded Iraq on the allegations that Iraq possessed nuclear arms and weapons of mass destruction. Saddam Hussein was killed yet the peace the U.S sought to restore turned to a night mare. U.S foreign policy thrust stated that America is the custodian of global peace and security but the irony is Americans are the ones waging war against nations.Donald Trump should call for cessation of hostilities. There is no benefit in war. The cities of Hiroshima and Nagazaki are still bearing the pains of the 2nd world war that ended in 1945 after America dropped atomic bomb on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Killings of Gaddafi, Saddam Hussein, has led to the rise of terrorism in the world. Trump should ensure peace and settle the matter amicably. If war will start, let them how I and my generation to leave the planet before they start their senseless war.
ReplyDeleteLet's not take eyes off the ball. The reason why Trump did this is simply because he wants to take attention away from his impeachment battles. There was no urgent need to have this guy assassinated. Trump hadn't discussed this formally with his security council prior to this strike. This came out of nowhere.
ReplyDeleteThe gamble Trump is taking is that doing this will boost his poll numbers and take the issue of impeachment off the front burner. But here is the catch. This general, had long been known to prior united States administrations. They calculated that the blow back from taking him out would not be worth it. Trump, a man lacking impulse control, has done the unthinkable. Sometimes, might is not all there is. America may be the most powerful nation on Earth. But she hasn't won a war since WW2. She is still stuck in Afghanistan after all this years. Iran will be no different.
